Adarra cried, her throat sore from her whine's. Pain filled her build, her eyes red from crying. She lied next to Riva, her warmth was soothing. But she was stressed, and scared. She was really scared, this was her heat session and she had been raped. She was gonna have pups, for a rapist. And she didn't like the fact her pups, wouldn't meet their father. She was very scared. She wanted Riva to soothe her, calm her. She sniffed Riva who was still sleeping, she began to sniffle as she tried to calm down. "r-Riva wake up please..." she pleaded. Her brows creasing.

Walk | Talk

Riva knew that she needed to rest and heal. The cuts across her pad had been tender for a few days after her incident, and she cleaned and saw to them regularly. Still, it was a slow healing process, and one she was already fed up with. The only silver lining was that wolves had a leg to spare, and she could hobble along on three paws without much difficulty. Time and patience, however, were things she did not have in abundance. She was a healer, and the winter season was hard. She sometimes found wolves that were emaciated from bad hunting, frostbitten from accidents in the snow, and all other arrays of accidents and injuries that could arise from the harsher season.

She had told Adarra she would rest today, they had spent some time together digging out their den and gathering materials to keep it warm and comfortable for the both of them. In truth, she had intended to rest, in reality, her patience had given out in short order, and well Adarra was away, she had gone exploring. The two might have been spending some of the winter season together, but that didn’t mean Riva had to remain in one place day in and day out. If nothing else, exploring the territory they found themselves in would be beneficial. She explored the lake that she had fallen into, sought out herbs that were buried in the snow by searching for hints of dense foliage, searching beneath the soil of large trees for roots. It was slow going and hard work to find anything beneath a layer of snow, but she felt satisfaction for her work efforts. She left signs here and there of scent and scratches to indicate a healer was in the area. If anyone who needed the help came across them, she hoped they would know to call.

When her paw ached terribly, and she had fresh herbs ready for drying tucked against the ribbon on her paw, she knew she was ready to head back to the den. She was just approaching the entrance when she heard a familiar voice call out, asking her to wake. She jumped forward, moving faster now as she bounded into the cave, nostrils flaring with alarm as she took in the scent of blood.

And there she was, her new friend, her rescuer, injured and afraid, huddled on the floor where Riva had told her she would be. Oh no, no…

She closed the distance between then, sniffing along her friends coat, before her mind caught up to her. Her scent told Riva what had happened, and she turned businesslike, after touching her nose to Adarra’s in a silent gesture of comfort.

She pulled free her own personal mix of Lavender and Ginseng root. She used it exactly for situations like this, when there was shock and mental pain as well as physical, it was to help with the girls state of mind, more than any actual injury. It would calm her, and make her drowsy, taking off some of the edge to the pain she must be feeling right now. She nudged Aderra, encouraging her to take it. She also grabbed yarrow, because where Aderra bleed was not something she could bandage, it would help it to clot.

Last, but not least, she brought out another special mix that she had made for special occasions, and gave out very sparingly. It was a careful mix of Agrimony and wolfsbane. It would flush out the potential for babies before they even had a chance to be born. She laid this down gently, just out of Adarra’s reach, and cupped a paw beneath her friends chin, lifting her head so she could look into her eyes. “Adarra. Listen carefully. Do you want me to terminate the pregnancy?” she knew by scent that Adarra was on heat, and the potential for babies after this encounter was very high. Adarra needed to make a very important decision here, if she wanted to keep the offspring or not. The earlier that this was administered, the safer it was for Adarra, and the most effective.

Adarra gave a soft smile, as she noticed her friend. She didn't take the herbs though, she looked at her friend when she spoke. She knew she had a high chance of pregnancy. But she wanted to keep the pups, she shook her head no. "I'll be keeping them." she sighed, she wouldn't kill something she was related to and it might be fun to be a mom. "Riva, can we rest... I want to lay with you..." she always felt safe with Riva, and she needed her friend. She needed her warmth.

Walk | Talk

Riva was surprised at her friends choice, but sympathetic. Choosing to end a life should never be done lightly, no matter the reason. She wasn’t entirely sure what her own choice would have been if their situations were reversed, and didn’t want to consider it too hard. After all, she knew how much she hated to be tied down by anything.
Adarra took the herbs to slow blood flow without needing any encouragement, but refused the sedatives as well as the herbs for terminating a pregnancy.

Riva nudged the sedatives forward again. “They’ll help with the pain, and they’ll ease your mind too, I know you must be feeling pretty horrible right about now.”

“Of course” Riva agreed gently, laying down beside her friend, and offering her her warmth. She had an ulterior motive for the gesture too, she was able to rest her head against her friends back and listen to her heart beat, feel her breaths. If Adarra started to have any shock-induced tremors, she would be the first to know about it. She would have to keep a close eye on her friend for the next few days as she worked through the aftermath of this.

Adarra ate enough of the herb, just so she wouldn't feel any pain. But not enough for her to become tired, she would push into her friend. She smiled softly, though she didn't feel great. Wait she knew this feeling she was going into shock, she began to tremor. Her mouth shivering as she tried to speak, she didn't have control. Damn, why her... She would try and kick with her front leg, to try and alarm the woman. She needed help out of this, by herself this could have been bad.

Riva was still a yearling herself, through as much healing knowledge that one could pass on had been crammed into her brain from a very young age. The fact of the matter was, she was still just a child, with the brevity of her year, and unworldly.
The experience of holding down a woman as she convulsed with the tremors of stress and fear after her terrible ordeal, was the most harrowing of Riva's youth.

The effort to stay detached and impartial, as she had trained to be as a healer, was nearly impossible. Still, she knew emotions would only get in the way of her diagnosis, and the future health of the woman she helped. She held the woman down, and slipped a piece of flat and softened bark between Adarra's teeth, so she would not bite her tongue.

There was little Riva could do from there but hold her down, keep her airways clear, and keep her from hurting herself. She would ride out the seizure, and when it was done she would give Adarra herbs to calm her and bring her to sleep. She needed to rest and heal.

Adarra paced her breathing, as it started to end. She would tighten her grip on the bark as she convulsed again. She shut her eye's hoping for it to end, just end. She was in pain, she didn't need to have this to worry about too. She would growl through chattering teeth, in annoyance. She would relax as the seizure passed. She looked at the rest of the herbs and ate them. She began to feel drowsy, and she smiled at Ravi before drifting to a well-earned nap. She curled up into a ball, before starting to snore.

(Making this last post so it qualifies for healer points)

The seizure went on for a time, and Riva kept her airways clear, and kept her from hurting herself, with the weight of her body, and stuffing toughened leather in her mouth to keep her from biting her tongue. They rode it out together like this when it passed, Adarra would take the herbs Riva had mixed for this occasion, the sedatives kicked in quickly, and her patient fell into a deep sleep. She was curled into a ball, which made it easier for Riva to curl around her, to keep her body temperature warm, when the shock might have had her shivering.

Adarra had been through quite an ordeal, but Riva would do whatever she had to to keep her patient safe and healthy. She was already considering what herbs she would need to collect to see this through, and knew she wouldn’t be able to wonder far from Adarra until this was over.
