Paws quietly padded with no real path, just going where ever they so choose to fall. Fear still tingled in every nerve of the being but its tight grip had lessen some. Her run in with the nearby pack had forced her to stop and think. To take the time to actually take care of herself. The break in her running was greatly needed for her physically and mentally. With a meal in her, a few winks of smile, she was able to think more clearly.
This land was so much different from home. And the change in landscape made her realize just how far she had actually come. Was it possible she had run far enough for HIM to not find her? The thought that HE still could made her shiver. But she had to force herself to stop and think things over. And by stop, well she physically stopped when her toes hit water. Her icy blue orbs looked up, focusing on the world around her more clearly.
It seemed her wanderings had brought her to a lake. The grey and red female cast a wary keen eye around her before easing herself down on her belly. She still felt oh so tired, maybe she should have taken better care of herself. After all she wouldn't be in any shape to go up against HIM if he did find her. But the will to live had pushed her this far. Looking at her reflection she scoffed at herself. She looked nothing like herself; matted, dirty, thin, almost looking dull and lifeless. Head lowered down as lids grew heavy till both head hit her paws and her eyes closed. But like always it would not be a peaceful rest for as soon as she fell asleep she would be twitching and muttering.

Navigation: Wolfpaw Lake |Round|1|2|3|

He had caught the scent of his brother shortly after he left the North and traveled to the Western coast of the continent. The male warred with himself as he thought of reuniting with his litter mate or continuing to live on his own as a rouge, he hadn’t missed the clinging scent of other wolves, particularly that of a young female when he found his brother’s marker. “You went and made something of yourself, didn’t you?” He thought almost bitterly. Well, he didn’t need him or anyone else for that matter, he was his own man and lived by his own rules, like his mother…His mother who had all but vanished after they were born. He sighed to himself as he approached the glittering lake, with Eura chattering concernedly from his back. “My troubles are my own dear.” He had told her in what he had intended to be a reassuring manner, but was not without the faint edge of heartbreak.

He laid down on the shore of the lake, letting the water come up to his chin while his companion whimpered shrilly at what had made her friend so morose. He shifted his eye to her lazily then dipped his nose in the water and breathed out a sigh, causing it to bubble around his cheeks. The monkey cheered a laugh and bounced excitedly at the sight. He would be alright. He lifted his dripping head to smile at the creature that had been his only friend and she in turn smiled at him toothily.

It was always the same when it came to sleeping for the small girl. If she did manage to actually sleep it would only be for a short time. Her mutterings and twitching lead to a more dramatic display of thrashing before she was jostled awake to her paws, growling and snapping at the air. It would taking her a few moments to come to reality, icy blue orbs wide as her fur prickled with a cold sweat. Would these nightmares ever go away? She shook herself out with a heavy sigh. If she couldn't sleep then she might as well do something with her appearance.
Slowly she wadded into the lake, the cool water zapping her body to life. It was refreshing to feel this alive. Her weakened body protesting about the cold water; at least it made her feel more alive than recently. The girl would wade into the lake till the water reached her shoulders and dunk her head in briefly to rid the dirt off of her face. Sure she could have groomed herself but that would take to long, this was much fast.
When her head resurfaced an odd shrilling noise catch her attention. Ears flicked as eyes sought out the source of the noise. She could feel her skin prickle with unease at the strange noise. Her eyes fell upon a dark colored wolf laying at the water's edge and her brown creased in confusion. At first all she saw was the wolf till her eyes spotted an old creature sitting on him. Ears pinned back with a slight tilt of her head. What was that thing? And why was he allowing it to sit on him? She would snort trying to figure things out but not willing to move and voice her questions.

The water sloshed as the girl rose from the depths, catching the attention of both himself and his companion. His expression shifted from mild surprise to a charming smile as the earth colored female watched the pair in unmasked fascination. “Hello there.” He nearly purred, his olive eyes roving over what he could see of the girl’s features.

“Pleasant evening isn’t it?” He asked amicably while Eura twisted her head left and right at the curious intruder. She was hardly beautiful and the features of her face spoke of poor rest and neglectful grooming. Not that the brigand minded terribly, his mother had been no great beauty and she was hardly the worst he had ever seen. “Or the worst I’ve been with.” He thought wickedly, keeping his expression calm and neutral.

She would not have to wait long for the male to speak up. She could feel his gaze searching over her features, of what was visible, and looked away for a second with embarrassment. She had never given thought to how others saw her till now and it would cause some slight unease in her. His second comment pulled her attention back to him and her eyes lifted to the sky. "I suppose you could say that." She spoke in a soft voice, smooth and silky. It no longer held the hoarseness it once held before. Not since she had started to talk again and not run herself dry from lack of water.
She glanced to the bank near him then back to him before wadding out. Now that her coat no longer held those layers of dirt, she felt cleaner and lighter. Heck a quick glance at her legs and she was please to see the rich colors of her coat once more. Looking up she would stop a few feet away from the male, eyeing the creature again that sat upon him. "What is that?" she nodded to the creature on him. Curiosity making her speak up out of her normal quiet ways. She couldn't help herself, she had to know.
