The warm waters soaked into the pads of his paws. He didn't like it, but he would get over it. In between his toes felt soggy, only because it was spring and the swamp lands were cooked by the sun. It was mid-day, and the male had only come here for one reason. To find any of his family.

Once again he searched the lands, through dangerous terrains, everywhere and anywhere, yadah yadah yadah. It was the same story for him. A scent of his mother, the paw prints of his siblings, the only thing he had ever found was a faint smell of his father lost in the Singing Caverns. But that was long gone.

The splashing of his feet had caused multiple birds to rush off into the skies, the sound of their wings fluttering fading into the distance. The boy tried to watch them fly away, but the lack of clouds had made his eyes sting from the sun. His ears would only swing around to hear their whistling, he inhaled the smells of the swamp, finding it more beautiful than disgusting.

TEENAGE DREAM

THE WAY YOU TURN ME ON

She could somehow remember it all. Was it a dream? No. It was real. That sunset when a mysterious stranger had approached her. Next they were sitting down beside each-other, exchanging words. What a night it was for her. And those ocean-like eyes could not leave her mind. She wanted to see him again. Caeto seemed like a nice and quiet wolf, oh she just couldn't wait to see him. Wherever he was. Maybe she might encounter him soon.

She only travelled a bit further away from her home. Her cousin wouldn't know she was gone. The willows weren't that far. Why did the West have to be so dry? So far in this place it's been all sun and sun. Nothing good has come out of her little adventure from her temporary home. No-one lives here, there's absolutely nothing!

Splash!

Except for that.

Maybe there was something here. Through curious and searching green orbs, the girl would pick up her pace. Her eyes scanned for a source of water, but her eyes met something else. Caeto! Right there in the water! What a coincidence! Rushing up to him happily, the ebony girl greeted him excitedly.

"Good morning, Caeto!"

Would he remember the sparkling onyx dame of his memories? Why wouldn't he? He was the same man, wasn't he?

The male would move his head to the splashes of someone approaching, his reaction not startled. It was the girl he met a few nights past; Titania Oaks. And she was up and spunky as her voice suggested that night. Though Caeto was well rested now and wasn't ready to drop to his feet.

Some of the warm swamp water had jumped up from her paws and he gently moved his face from the low flying droplets. "Mornin too." He would respond with a small raise to his chin. His face was emotionless, but the fae could probably image from his voice on the night they spent together. He could actually take a look at her facial structures, but his sapphires would only move slightly and not so intensely. He would memorize her figure and hopefully meet one of her family members to compare them.

He hadn't traveled very far since he searched the orchid. But this just seemed like another dead end. His nose told him that this air was clean of anyone he knew.

Mornin too.

Ah, he did remember her, and she was glad because of that.

Either it was normal in this place, or something had angered the sun. She felt her fur burn as the sun shone down. Oh well, it was the West. And the strong sun rays turned her fur into a shimmering display of black obsidian. Perhaps she could get used to the heat of the West, after all this was her new home.

She wondered where Caeto was heading, she wasn't going anywhere herself. They had only just found each-other again since that time by the Orchard, maybe he wouldn't mind if she joined him in his trek.
"May I walk with you?" She would ask the man. If he was going anywhere. He looked like he was, and she would just walk with him for a short time. Just until the sun fell and she would whisk herself back to the Whistling Willows. Unless Caeto wanted her to stay with him for the night, just like that memory of the Orchard.

The brute would turn his cheek to her a moment, his orbs closing. But then he would flick his face in the direction he would be moving, suggesting for her to come along. It wouldn't be too bad having someone come along, he was always alone. His paws would turn to walk deeper into the swamp lands, the girl was welcomed to follow.

Caeto seriously had a social problem. Well it wasn't really a problem, he just didn't interact well with others. And it was very rare to see a curl at the edge of his maw, if anything it was barley noticeable. But the boy wasn't unhappy, it wasn't like he wanted to be alone. Just the presence of someone, their scent, their figure, it was enough for him to make a judgement. The way they moved, spoke, he studied every little detail but felt no need for his voice to be a part of them. So his vocals stayed silent.

The male had spotted multiple flocks of birds scattered about the lands. Some breeds mixed in with others. And though some wolves may have wanted to startle them and have them panic away, or another wolf may have wanted it as lunch, Caeto would leave them be. And it wasn't because they were beautiful, because they were. And it wasn't because he thought of what kind of tragedy it may have brought to the other birds. He just saw no reason to bother with them. He wouldn't want someone rushing in and ruining his party, or killing his mother.

His paws still trekked the puddles, the different birds skipping away from the two wolves, but not fleeing. It was calm and gentle; it was perfect. It was exactly as he wanted it.

He flicked his head in the direction he was heading, saying nothing, but she knew she was welcome to walk along. With a warm smile, she would catch up to his walking pace. And next the two would travel through the sun-claimed grounds. They both trekked deeper into the marsh. Wetlands weren't Titania's favorite type of place, she preferred a dry and sunny forest. Though there was something about these grounds that was extraordinary to her. Something about this place made it seem so...perfect.

Titania peacefully ran through her thoughts, her loneliness draining away. Her head was held as high as it could go, she was a brave gal, a dark spirit couldn't frighten her. Black paws beside tanned paws would travel in unison. There was a nice silence until the calls of the overhead birds came to her ears. They both let the graceful creatures continue on their flight undisturbed. The girl wasn't one to frighten creatures, although she enjoyed observing nature carefully. Even though she was a yearling, she was wise in the fauna and flora. She left home at such a young age. She was pure-out wild blood. She was a wolf, of course she was wild.

"Thanks for letting me walk with you." She spoke gracefully once the birds were past the two. It was such a good moment. It was a perfect moment.

The girl had done the same as he, left the birds to their lives. Her eyes would watch them gently. His orbs glanced at her as they traveled the swamp. He would take a fancy to the way the water rose on the grasses, admiring the beauty of the place. But still as a silent thought.

She had thanked him for letting her come along, but it wasn't a big deal. The boy would stop in his tracks, looking around for a moment before shooting her a look. His paw would rise quickly and drop down to the surrounding puddle causing water to splash up to the fae.

His chin moved away from her, letting a slight tear of a grin rip at his maw. Birds neighboring the wolves would flap their wings as if daring to flee from the unexpected splash, but they wouldn't move far. He wondered if the girl would be mad that he had attempted to coat her with the warm swamp water, or if she would laugh at him. Either way, he was having fun.

The man again said nothing, but he acknowledged her speech. A bit quiet, wasn't he? Well, Titania wasn't feeling in the chatty mood, for once, this spunky girl actually enjoyed the silence. It was so...peaceful. Listening to the birds was like music to her ears. She was relaxed. This day was a good day.

After a few moments, he shot her a look. The girl was going to ask him what was the matter but Caeto had bet her to it. Lifting his paws up, he sent a wild splash of the warm marshy water at the girl. He could only grin in satisfaction, looking as if he was having some fun.

This wild girl loved getting her fur wet and she would squeal with excitement.

Finally. It's just gotten interesting!

And with that, the girl would pelt after him, splashing him with the soggy substance. She didn't care if she got herself dirty, she loved romping in the muck. And she would laugh as the splashing war began.

The male would jump backwards, an effort to get away from her splashes. But he wasn't angry or afraid to get his pelt wet, he was just like her. He wanted to have fun, and she was willing to play. He may have been emotionless, but he was still a pup. He couldn't live every moment in solitude.

He would drop his chest to the ground, his front paws clashing with the puddles and droplets went everywhere. He had soaked himself and hopefully Titania too. He then pounced up trying to jump on her and pin her to the ground.

He had been alone way too long, maybe a playmate was what he really needed. He had forgot why he was even here. Everything that had itched at his mind had now vanished. It was like a weight was lifted, but he hadn't noticed it. The slightest smile was still let on his maw, surely he was happy.

THE WAY YOU TURN ME ON

When was the last time she had enjoyed herself like this? When was the last time she had fun with someone else? She was a lonely girl, trying to make her own fun in the woods but sometimes that wasn't enough. Chasing butterflies wasn't enough. She was actually having fun, right now. With someone else. Just the way she always wanted it. What a warm moment.

Shining and enthusiastic green orbs would sparkle over the marsh. Playful black paws would splash the swampy water, aiming for the tanned creature. Every once in a while, Caeto might drench them both in a wave of water. Titania only laughed more and dashed after the mischievous man.

In a sudden turn, the man would leap. Wait, was he trying to pin her down? In a surprised yelp, the girl would try to dodge Caeto's move, but the man was quicker. She fell, pinned to the ground. Wide gems would stare back as she panted with exhaustion. What was he trying to do?

The girl would giggle, laugh, Caeto had stayed silent with the grin on his maw. But it was obvious the two were having fun. It seemed like she really needed a play mate too.

But as Caeto pounced to her and pinned her bodice to the ground, she would look up at him almost terrified. Water and mud had flung itself into the air, birds fleeing from the two recklessly thrashing in the waters. Caeto would look into her emerald eyes, the smile then flying from his face. He took his paws from her shoulder, turning away only the side of his face in her view.

"I was just playin' 'round." He would state turning his chin forward again. His nose lifted to the air to smell the area, still nothing familiar. So he would lower his skull back below his shoulders, still facing away from the girl. It wasn't an apology, only a statement. He didn't feel bad for surprising her.

Her heart pounded as she gazed back at him. The smile had left his face. He would then take his paws off her shoulders, looking away.

I was just playin round.

She couldn't resist that soft voice. The girl warmly smiled. When did she become such a grumpy-butt? Of course she knew he was playing around. They were both. Perhaps it just startled her, nothing else. Yet why did she feel so alive? So wild? She would have to push those feelings away and focus on the world outside the emerald eyes. The birds had fled after their splashing, leaving the area quiet yet peaceful. The electric yellow sun still blazed aflame, delivering the warmth in the lands of the West.

"I knew that," She finally sighed, looking ahead in their direction. She didn't want to make him feel bad, she actually liked that quick embrace the two had. She could only hope he understood she wasn't mad or angry at him. She would finally state, the powerful sun still shining on the two. "I loved it."

And it was true. Every word. She wondered if Caeto enjoyed it as well, just like she did.

His orbs touched the ground softly, only a memory lay in his mind. He thought of his teeth sinking into Zaria. His tongue lashed out as if he could still taste her, but it was long gone. And he had missed it.

His veins pulsed thinking of when he reunited with her, her teeth bared and stinging at his skin. He would tense, imagining every prick she had ever put to him. The two had bathed in each other's blood, it seemed more often than they really should have. They had made up, went home, and once again Caeto had ran from his fear of losing Zaria. And it caused him to truly lose her.

Thank the heavens this woman didn't remind him anything of his once loved. Only he would do that. His playful attack bringing back a chain of dreadful memories he had to go over at some point. But now was not the time.

His back leg splashed in the water toward the girl, like a horse swatting at a fly. But his gaze remained foward but with re-opened eyes. "Come on." He would tell her to keep following him, "I've heard there is a willow tree in the center of this marsh." If any of his family was here, they would most likely be resting under that tree. If not, he could at least say he had seen it.

She would keep following him as he spoke of a willow in the middle of the marsh. Yes, that was the special part of this wetland. Titania had heard that there was a small island with a lonely willow. The girl couldn't wait to find such a place, and she hoped it was still there.

Through the swamp they would both travel, Titania right by Caeto's side. Whilst in their quiet expedition, the girl could only think in the deepest of her thoughts. She thought about her mother, the only wolf who loved her. Had Caeto lost a loved one too? Perhaps she shouldn't ask him that, just in case he had. Was the kind and affectionate woman looking down on her? What did her mother think of her with Caeto? But she knew her mother's smile was as warm and bright as the sun, and if the sun was shining powerfully, her mother was happy no matter what.

Emerald eyes met the little island that she had heard about, right in the heart of the marsh. And just like she imagined, the lonely willow tree danced in the warm spring breeze. The drooping willow looked as if it was weeping, so alone on the island. It was a small island, though a few wolves could easily fit. The island was perfect for anything, a meeting place, a secret hideout, but why did Caeto bring her here? Was there a reason?

"Why are we here?"

The brute had spotted the tree, the fae soon doing so too but neither said anything about the weeping branches. His paws stepped foot out of the waters and onto the island, his pads adjusting to the dryer but not hard soil. Ocean orbs stared up at the vines drawing down, and he too would think of his mother.

He had made the choice to separate from his parents, and he wondered if his mother had any regret giving her children that decision. Would tears fall because of the separation? He could imagine her white body laying under the willow, weeping beneath the vines begging for her children to come back to her. But her figure would fade as they approached the trunk of the tree, Caeto knowing that no one had been here.

His nose rose to the air, searching for other signs of wolves instead of his family. The girl's voice playing questioning tunes to his ears. She had asked why they had come here. Whether it was a question of why he brought her here or why he was here, it didn't matter to him. "I'm searching for the rest of my family." His eyes would stay forward away from the fae, eyeing the waters around the island gently.

"Does your cousin not travel with you?" His question was out of the blue. He had thought of how she spoke of Dusk, her cousin who she looked at as more of a brother. Why was such a young girl running around aimlessly by herself? Was she just trying to find someplace too settle? Or did she spend nights with her family member?

The ebony babe would follow him up onto the island. Sapphire eyes would search endlessly by the willow, though there was nothing. The man had replied that he was searching for his family. Emeralds looked down at black paws. Sometimes she too searched for her family, though it was silly to chase after memories. Dusk perhaps was her only family, and she should be grateful that he was the closest kin she could find.

Does your cousin not travel with you?

Dusk wasn't her babysitter, she could look after herself. She only shared a home with him as well as two other loners that are his friends. Dusk had the main job of hunting with another wolf by the name of Winter. Titania had agreed to make dens as well as educate herself in healing, while another wolf, named Esti, would have the main job of expanding their home. It wasn't much. It wasn't a high-class pack of royalty, but it was perfect through Titania's eyes.

"I just share a home with him, he hunts while I do whatever has to be done." She explained, trying not to sound like she was dependent on him. She's wasn't. And if Dusk and Winter had to take a break, Esti and Titania could always fill in with hunting. They were a small, tight-knit group, only four mouths to feed. But what was she doing so far out from the willows? Wouldn't the others worry? Nah, the sun doesn't set in a long while, she had plenty of time. Besides, it wouldn't hurt just to spend one night with Caeto, would it?

"You live somewhere now?" The brute would turn to face her, back to the willow before taking a seat. He remembered her saying she hadn't resided anywhere in their last meeting. That was only a few days ago, but it could have happened that fast.

Caeto was planning on settling down with his parents when he found them. If he never found them, he would probably just drop where ever he felt the need. It's what he was doing now.

His eyes had connected with the girl, probably the first time he kept a gaze into her own optics. His mind was now set on her and wasn't distracted by who was or was not at the swamp lands. His nose didn't sense any others nearby, which told him it would be safe to rest here for a while, even over night. The sun was still high above ground, but before they knew it, it would be dark. The male wouldn't mind another night with the fae. He wasn't as exhausted as their last meeting.

You live somewhere now?

Ah, yes, because the last time they had met, she didn't have a home. Oh well, so much had happened in that short time. Dusk had offered her a home and she gladly accepted it. And now here she was, with a home and new friends to meet. Though she wasn't going to spend her whole life with the others, Winter looked like he wasn't going to either. They could happily leave Dusk with Esti. But a blossoming romance between the handsome man and the younger girl? Perhaps her cousin did have feelings for the gorgeous and fancy princess. She smiled warmly at that thought. What a fantasy.

"Yes, not far from here, in the Willows." She finally answered, taking a seat beside him. She sighed gently, looking out across the thick marsh. Maybe she could see the faint drooping trees from where she was. Turning to face the man the girl found herself staring into his ocean eyes. He looked deeply into her green eyes. She was almost lost in those sparkling orbs until she looked away, heavily blushing with embarrassment.

He would catch her smile before she came to sit beside him, his eyes following her and staying with her gaze. She would shy from his sapphires, he only moving his nose to see her face blush. If he were a charmer, he may have shone a grin with the tilt of his chin. But he was not, and his maw remained untouched as he tilted.

But only after a moment of holding his head to hers, his eyes rose to the leaves of the tree. He hadn't been to the Weeping Willows. But the single tree that stood here could give him enough imagination for dozens of them. He was sure to wander up there soon, to see if any of his family had come by. But in the few days Titania had been there, it seemed like there was no reason to search that place.

The birds of the area had grown loud, probably looking for their mates and friends before finding a place to rest. He wondered when they would be quiet, if the marsh was ever silent. Did the birds take cover under the willow too? He would only get a headache thinking about the noise they posed.

If there was anything that annoyed the girl right now, it would have to be the birds. Sure, she did enjoy the peaceful calls of the swooping creatures, but as many as this? What were they doing? Mating? Didn't these birds have a home or did they have to share the tree with the two? She prayed the birds would quiet down, at least for a moment.

She wondered how Caeto felt with himself searching for his family. Titania had found two of her family members while Caeto had found none.

"I hope you find your family soon, they can't be lost forever." She whispered calmly, looking out through the swamp. Nothing was lost forever unless you truly abandoned it.

If there was something she was glad about, it wasn't her meeting Dusk, or finding a home, it was the fact that the birds had finally shut up.
