In the early morning she stepped out of the cove they kept for themselves, squinting a bit as she walked into the sunrise. For the most part the kids were still fast asleep, but she knew at least a couple of them liked to have early mornings themselves. They were getting old enough now that she felt comfortable with them going off on their own within the confines of the pack's borders. She would not have been surprised to find out that some of them had ventured farther than that, but that was the nature of curious, adventurous pups.

She stretched her front paws in front of her, the front half of her body nearing the ground and her tail curling over her back in a long stretch. Something had her in an odd mood today. She couldn't quite pin down what it was. The gem hanging around her neck brushed the ground before she pulled herself back onto her paws and began to leisurely wander through the mountains. It seemed like the more time she spent in this place and around the volcano that took up over half of their territory the more it affected her. What she couldn't decide on was whether the environment or the wolves around her were more to blame.

Zuriel walked with a gentle sway to her steps and a subtle confidence that she probably hadn't earned. She didn't always feel like this, but when she stepped out into the warm summer air and looked out over the lands that Elias had secured for them she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. With her mate fresh on her mind she went in search of him since somehow he always managed to leave the den before she did no matter how early she woke. For the most part she felt like they had a quiet acceptance between them that they spent time together when they could and focused on the pack or their children the rest of the time.

His dark form came into view and she padded up behind him with a small smile touching her lips. Her side brushed his as she slid up beside him and tipped her muzzle up to press a lick onto his cheek. She hoped that she would never lose that electrifying tingle that came over her when they were together. "Good morning, love," Zuriel said softly as she leaned into his shoulder, looking up at him as her smile grew. "What are you up to this morning, my Apollyon?"
