Sephira was doing her best not to be grumpy. Her brother had wandered off somewhere and the weather was dismal, but she was trying. She was hungry too but that was normal, so that wasn't really too detrimental. It just didn't improve her mood at all. She lay sphinx-like on the ground, paws crossed over one another, and lowered her head rest it atop them. The colorful shewolf grew tired of this warm, loathsome season.

It was humid, the rains came often, and although the air was clean and prey plentiful, it was not home. That was a good thing, though. Right? At least that was what she kept reminding herself of. Just because it was unfamiliar did not mean it was bad. Just because she was alone more often than not, instead of surrounded by sideways glances and murmured gossip, well... How could that not be a good thing? With a beleaguered sigh she rolled sideways and onto her back. She swiped at the sky with her left forepaw, angry that there was nothing for her claws to strike.

The field of rocks she had found herself in was nothing special, truthfully. The moss which grew between the boulders perhaps absorbed and muffled the sounds of the rest of the world, lending an eery sort of quiet to the land. Sephi thought it was peaceful, in an odd way. She felt alone with her thoughts. That wasn't necessarily a good thing either, but at least she was finally trying to make sense of it all. They had at last found their way to a new land, a safe land, compared to home. At last Iggy would be able to live without persecution, and that was all she'd ever wanted. Her brother meant the world to her. If this new continent wasn't prepared to welcome them, well, she would blaze her own path until she found a land that was.

With a firm sense of determination, Sephira rolled back onto her paws and then stood, shaking the dirt from her coat. She was supposed to be finding a meal, not drowning herself in emotion. It helped no one if she became distracted, and the shame of returning with nothing to show wasn't an option either. She turned her nose back to the prevailing wind, hoping to catch the scent of something worth eating.

Jareth wasn't sure he liked this place much. It had seemed interesting at first, but the further he wandered amongst the rocks, the more he realized he had no idea where he was going. With his still small stature, he had a hard time peering over the rocks, and some of the boulders towered high above him. Everything was starting to look the same, and he wondered if he was getting anywhere at all or just wandering in circles. Frustrated, he flopped down to the ground, stretching out his legs as the claws of his forepaws dug into the ground. Why wasn't there any sign of the direction he ought to go? Scowling, Jareth's gaze cast around at the rocks that all looked the same. He wasn't normally afraid of anything, but he was starting to feel closed off from the world, like he'd entered a place that had no exit. Like he was trapped, and the rocks were closing in on him.

The boy crawled to the nearest boulder, pressing his body against it. At least it felt comforting to have his back against something solid while he continued to scan his surroundings. Unable to decide which direction to take next, Jareth curled up and closed his eyes, pressing his face into his forepaws. His ears were perked, listening to find if it made any difference. Perhaps his other senses would give him clues that his eyes would not. Was there any way to return to a normal environment, or would find himself lost in this barren, rocky place until he starved to death?

"Speech"

She had wandered too far from Firefly Lake, and didn’t know her way back. She was still new to these lands, and wasn’t accustomed to the world being so.. So big. Her little island home had been easy to memorise, she had grown up knowing every rock and tree and creature. She knew her sister would come for her, but until then she would have to figure this out on her own.

The young wolf was hungry, her modist hunting abilities had barely filled her belly. The little mice she had caught in play had been a start, one already gone and into her belly, another held gently in her jaws as she walked with open curiosity across the rock garden.

She was jumping between rocks when a sudden figure rose, her brilliant toned body immediately visible across the dismal, grey surroundings. She gasped in wicked-surprise at the butterfly wings that brushed brilliance across the other woman's eyes. She had never seen a wolf as beautiful as this one.

It was perhaps a good thing that she was distracted by the mouse that jumped free of her loosened grip, hitting the ground with speed, only to be immediately smited by the still-surprised Lyrae.

The younger wolf squeaked again, still getting over the suddenness of it all, through all the other wolf had done was rise to her paws! Lyrae wasn’t afraid, no fear coursed through her young veins, or touched her un-tried heart. Her surprise and confusion was by the sudden emotions that had welled inside her heart as she witnessed beauty before her. She had always loved stories, and was perhaps vain enough to admire her star-swashed coat, but none of that came close to this brilliant wolf before her. “O-oh, hello, i’m so sorry.. I didn’t see you there.” she would try to explain herself.

OOC: Also! These posts might be edited pending on any details I don't have quite right for Mon's idea of the canon <3

Sephira wondered if perhaps she really had been in her own world for a moment there, because she stood back up with company that she was fairly certain hadn't been there before. Striking company, at that. Absolutely perplexing company that she could not make sense of. She openly stared at the young she-wolf for a long moment, blinking quickly. It took a lot to render her speechless, and if her siblings had been there too they would roll their eyes and agree. But the thing is, this young stranger was definitely not one of her siblings, so why the fuck did she look so much like she could be?

It was not that her coat was colored brilliantly, it was that distinct mix of oranges and blues, the hues of the north and the south, that had caught her so off guard. Was she a mixblood? Had she followed them from the east? She was obviously younger than Sephi, and shorter besides, but that didn't mean she didn't have something less than savory in mind after Ig's exile. All of these questions circulated in her mind, but the one that jumped from her lips was, "Uh, who the fuck are you?" Sephi backed up a few paces, keeping the stranger in her sights all the while, and leaped up onto the nearest boulder. She hastily scanned the surrounding area, half expecting to see a small army awaiting her.

Well, the two of them certainly weren't alone, but their audience didn't exactly qualify as an army.

Sephi's eyes zeroed in on a pup of all things pressed against another boulder not far from where she now perched. She blinked. His coat was perfectly bland, by her standards anyways. At a glance he looked thin and a bit anxious too. Hardly fighting material, especially considering he couldn't have been more than a season old. She scoffed. "And who the fuck are you? I swear, I lay down for three heartbeats..." She whipped her head back to the older of the two strangers. "Now you've got about three heartbeats to explain yourself, did Mars send you? I didn't think there were any other mixbloods, so are you exiled or what?"

Sephi had no idea just how little sense she was probably making, but she was also lowkey freaking out. She was used to having a good handle on her situation, whatever it may be, shitty or otherwise. Sephira thrived on having her own personal ducks in a row. This was not part of the plan, (even if making horrible first impressions was pretty much par for course.)

As the pup laid against the rock, his body curled and his eyes closed, his ears twitched at the sound of a commotion. It was delightful in comparison with the nothingness he'd been surrounded by. The boy lifted his head, stretching out his body and getting to his paws. Hopeful that what he was hearing would lead him to at least something better than his current situation, he started toward the bickering. Just then, he saw a beautiful figure jump up on a boulder. The woman spotted him and quickly asked him who he was. He smiled, ignoring her anger and more than happy to meet her and introduce himself.

He bounded over to where the other she-wolf was; yet another beauty to behold. He was starting to feel rather blessed - perhaps this strange rocky place was not so bad after all. He glanced between the two females, not really understanding nor caring for their adult talk. Shrugging, he looked to the woman who's coat was painted with the energy of Earth's elements. "I'm Jareth," the pup stated, then tilted his head, “So, who the fuck are you? And you?" The boy mimicked the woman's way of asking for information, not really understanding the meaning behind it but figuring he might sound more adult-like if he asked her in the same way. He simply wanted to know the names of both beauties so he'd know how to address them. Then perhaps he'd let them know he was hungry. Adults knew what to do about that, right?

"Speech"

It seems she wasn’t the only one caught in surprise. The beautiful stranger stared back her, and Lyrae could get lost in the brilliance of her heterochromatic gaze. She was like the stars that Lyrae loved so much, a strange and distant beauty. Or was she more like the night sky? A strange awash of colors, dusk on a still lake, with her fire and ice compilation. Perhaps, for a moment, she could understand the urge that pushed through the soul of a poet. The need to find the right words, to put something so strange and wonderful and alien that her eyes could barely understand, to words that her heart could speak.

Then of course, the creature of her muse and stars would open her mouth, and the illusion the younger girl had build about her, as delicate as spun ice, shattered. There was no gentleness in her rich and lustrous voice, and Lyrae fell from the stars she had climbed to. Once again, she was speechless. Her carefully crafted thoughts, her ideas at sprouting wisdom and poetry to this creature of beauty, gone.
“I..”
The exquisite wolf backed up a few steps, the harsh words that fell from her lips began again. She brought her attention to another wolf, one that had completely passed her attention the first time over. How had she not seen that they weren’t alone? She was too busy being dazzled by a stranger.

Lyrae blushed demurely, confused beyond repair as she tried to pull some sense back into her addled brain. “Oo-oh, are you an Elementas too? I haven’t met many of my family.” she knew only her mother, who had passed, and her sister. All else in her family line she knew of through stores alone. But who was Mars? She couldn’t remember that name being spoken along with the rest of the Elementas line.

The pup who’s attention she had been called to before approached them, and she swiveled her ears as he spoke. “I-I’m Lyrae Elementas.” she begun, wondering just what on earth she had gotten herself into.
