Ooc: Pups are required to attend. Only fighting inclined wolves are really required to attend, but any adults who want to join in are also welcome.

Aurielle Adravendi

She padded quietly through the moor, pondering what she planned to undertake today. She’d already informed Gwenevere of her plans, and it was nigh time this got underway. The pups were definitely old enough to begin training in sentry work, and today was rather clear, with good – if frosty – weather.

She slowed to a stop and howled for the whole litter, as well as the fighting inclined and keen-eyed members of the pack. Her haunches lowered to the ground as she waited, surrounded by the standing stones, ears swiveling as she listened for the approach of the pack members.

Today would be a lesson in watching for movement beyond the wall. The role of the adults she’d called would be to give the children practice in spotting possible intruders and learning what to do in the event of a stranger coming to the wall and not calling for the alphas.

At first glance, Aurielle's coat is pure white.. Her fur has an iridescent quality (like moonstones) where the fur shimmers different colors under various angles of light: in this case, the colors shown by rainbow moonstones. Not one hair on her hide is a solid unnatural color, but, ya know, it's really hard to convey that in still art :P
Aurielle's English is heavily laden with an Irish, Swedish mixed accent.
Her family is allowed to crash all her threads, Private and Open.
As of Autumn Year 14, Aurielle glows with a bright blue-white bio-luminescence in her fur, and bears a marking over her left eye - see profile and reference.

Having discussed autumn preparations with Aurielle and Amos, Gwenevere was putting extra effort towards stocking up for the winter. Even now, while on a patrol on the border, she'd been taking care to hunt as she went. Her patrol had been outside the wall rather than inside, so the prey were a little less heavily hunted than inside. Oh, they still saw wolves, but few enough that they were less wary than the prey that encountered Celestial wolves regularly, so she'd taken a couple hares already. With their coats beginning to make the turn for winter, they were splotched with big patches of thicker white fur mingling with the brown summer coat. It made it so they weren't quite camouflaged enough anymore, so it gave her an edge over the too-unwary hares.

Her ears caught the sound of Aurielle's howl, and for a moment she debated whether she should continue her patrol or help with the training for the pups. Since she'd been patrolling for a few hours already, she decided it was good enough for her to take a break for the training, so she turned and headed toward the stones. She dropped the two hares at her den, where either the pups would have something to devour when training was over and they'd undoubtedly be hungry, or she could skin and preserve them for later.

When she finally made her way to the stone circle it was to find that she was the first other than Aurielle to get there, though that wasn't terribly surprising since she hadn't been all that far to begin with. She gave the younger wolf a quick, supportive smile, then moved somewhat out of sight to lean against one of the huge stones so she wouldn't be where the pups could see her, minimizing their distractions.

The sound of a howl drew Artur's attention from stalking a roosting partridge, and without his full focus on what he was doing, the over-seven-month-old pup set one of his paws down on a twig, snapping it. The partridge burst out of the concealing clump of grass, flying away and immediately out of reach of the young male. Artur closed his eyes, jaw bunching as he fought back anger at the stupid mistake. It didn't matter now - he wasn't going to go hungry if he couldn't hunt. But what about four, five months from now, when he was an adult and supposed to be contributing to the pack's care? He'd be a damn poor excuse for an Adravendi if he couldn't even hunt for himself, let alone for a pack. After a moment he successfully fought back the anger, and let out a calm, if slightly frustrated, breath. It seemed he had training to get to.

Trotting up to the stones, he saw only Aurielle, the alpha. He swiveled head and ears, looking for any of his siblings, but he'd managed to be the first one there this time. He hesitated, wanting to ask what the call was for, but he knew that he'd likely only be told to wait for his siblings so that she wouldn't have to repeat herself more than once, so rather than ask a question that wouldn't be answered anyway, he sat and gave the alpha a somewhat stiff nod. It wasn't as though he'd miss training regardless of what it was anyway, so it didn't really matter what they were being called to learn. He could wait.

If Caelia was interested in anything at all, it was definitely in protecting her family. Unlike some of her siblings, she wasn't interested or healing, and while fighting was only slightly interesting to her so far, the thought of protecting her homelands from intruders was much more appealing. At Aurielle's familiar call, Caelia quickly headed in her direction, for once rather interested in what this training session had in store for them. While she'd enjoyed getting to learn how to defend herself, knowing how to defend her family seemed far more useful for her.

Intrigued, Caelia peeled herself away from what she'd been doing - which wasn't much, just wandering through the Moor and trying to find something to entertain herself with - to meet up with the group that had gathered. Besides Aurielle, only her mother and Artur were here, but that was enough for her. The girl offered Artur a slightly impish smile before casting a more serious smile her mother's way. She seemed to bee staying out of this training, at least that's what it looked like, so she'd veer toward her brother. "Whatcha think this one's about?" Caelia whispered quietly toward his ear before pulling away and glancing up at Aurielle attentively while she waited for their other siblings to show up.

Rats, he wasn't the first of his siblings to make it in! Oh well, he tried. At least he made it. He'd been wrestling with a particularly stubborn root in the little hidey hole he'd been digging to keep all his trinkets in, and his frustrated growls had almost drowned out the howl. Thankfully he'd come up for air at just the right moment.

A dirt flecked Geoffrey plopped down near his siblings and looked up at Aurielle expectantly. Hopefully this wasn't more fight training. While he understood the lessons were important, he really wasn't a fighter and was pretty sick of fight training. Because he knew it would better him, he'd do it if asked, but whenever possible he planned on skipping those particular lessons. Let those who cared to fight learn how; he had more interesting topics to explore.

His love of crafting continued to grow. Already he had amassed quite the collection of trinkets and contraptions, and it was designing more of them that had his interest. That and healing of course. Making things and taking care of others was more his speed.

Cairo Lanze Adravendi

He was late. He was very, very late! And he ran as fast as his young paws could take him. He’d been exploring the Plains, taking in the smells that were different from the Moor he’d been born in, and had faintly heard Aurielle’s howl calling the litter to the moor.

When he finally dragged himself into the group, he was silently berating himself for his tardiness. His gaze flicked to Aurielle’s with a deeply apologetic expression as he took a seat among his siblings, glancing around. He was pretty sure that the call had included adults, but from his position, the only grown wolf he could see was the shimmering white leader. He was aware of his mother’s fresh scent, but he assumed that she’d simply passed through, maybe a minute or so before.

Puffing out a breath, Cai resolved himself to never be late again if he could help it, and settled his gaze on the woman before them, waiting to see what the infinitely patient leader had planned for them.
