There had been a lot running through his mind as of late. His mother. The new sister he had. His brother and his rising pack. Him, joining his brother's pack again...He didn't really quite know what to make of it all. Had no idea where fate was leading him, whether it was the wrong path or the right one. All he knew, was that he was trying to please those that he cared about and simply do the best he could for them. Even if it most likely meant costing him. But that's what you do for love, right? He had no idea, but he wished he did.

The sky was overcast and the breeze was cold, sending chills throughout his body. The tide was high, and off in the distance, he could see rolling storm clouds and the distant sound of thunder. It probably wasn't the best day for hunting, but he always enjoyed a challenge. The black sandy beach was still strange to him, though he didn't quite get a good look at its strangeness the first time he had visited this beach. Now that there was a storm approaching, he was sure he'd get to see it in all its glory.

Cloud made his way towards the rocky side of the shore where a few palm trees were (for now) gently swaying with the breeze. There were tide pools on this end, and he carefully picked his way around them as he sought out a decent place to get a good look at his surroundings. He needed a vantage point, after all, to get a good feel for where the best places to start hunting would be. And his spot of choice? A jetty made of obsidian rocks that went quite a ways into the water. He stood at the start of it, wondering if it was a good idea to go out there.

Gwen was out of the pack lands looking for something very specific, which is to say, someplace interesting and fun to bring the pups on an overnight field trip far from the pack lands they knew. This land had seemed like a good idea at first. What child didn't like the beach? And this one was fascinating with its black sands. But as she had dabbled her toes into the water, it occurred to her that it was getting a bit chilly for beach days. The ocean tended to stay warmer longer in the fall than the air temperature, and this was quite a bit south for Boreas, though, so it might still be a fun trip. And there was a cave for shelter just back from the beach, so they could have a ready-made camp right there.

She maneuvered around a boulder to deftly avoid a tidepool in her path, only to come face to face with a stranger as she came around the other side of the big rock. She paused, surprised, but offered him a smile in apology. "Good morning. I'm sorry if I startled you."
