You Got a Bone To Pick?

It was nearly time for her to return home, but before she did, she wanted to collect some herbs to take back with her. She had been passing by this place when she smelled a herb she hadn't had to use in some time. But now that winter was approaching, she figured she should track the herb down and take some, just in case the pups back home came down with colds or fevers. In fact, she expected a pack member or two to catch a cold or something during the coming season, and even if they didn't, hey, at least she had it. She swept into the basin, carefully picking her way around rocks and rabbit holes as she set about searching for the white flowering plant. Boneset was always good to have on hand. She could make a variety of teas and powders with it.

Ara found herself straying farther from home than she had recently, but today's good weather had lifted her spirits. The slight chill in the air, while rather tame in the west compared to the rest of Boreas, was actually invigorating today. The sun was high in the sky, providing just enough warmth to keep her comfortable as she wandered in search of something new. As usual, she wore her tattered satchel around her neck, slung comfortably to the right side of her body. Though her stash of herbs was mostly left in Lirim's lands - not that she had much to begin with lately, having been spending more time with Novel than collecting herbs - she had a few with her now, always just in case. All she hope for from today was that she might find something else to bring home, even if it wasn't anything particularly useful. Even bringing home a pretty plant for Novel would be a success, in her eyes. She was pleased to find the basin again, a place she had explored once before but had no trouble returning to. In the summer, this place had been brimming with plant life, and while the cold had pushed some of them back there still was enough to make the trip worthwhile. Sniffing at the air, she caught wind of another scent, one that arrested her attention from the task at hand and drew it to something else. Someone was here already, and Ara moved to cautiously follow the scent. Even if they didn't want to interact with her, she'd rather know where they were so she could give them any space they might desire. Once the stranger came into view, though, she offered a pleasant smile in her direction. "Afternoon. Hopefully I'm not intruding on anything." If so, she would gladly leave, not one to step on anyone's toes. |
