The young male had been over Alacritia in search of his parents. And more than that, his siblings. After he heard of Zaria's death, he wanted something to live for. He wanted to find his family, all of them, and stand by their side no matter what. Even if they were separated, or refused to be apart of each other, he would find a way to be with everyone again.

His paws would lead the way, hoping that they took him to the right path. And today, they took him to The Stone Steppe. He would approach the structures, stopping at one of the toppling rocks and intensely sniff it. His nose would pulse quickly, the little hairs on the front of his muzzle being tickled by the texture. His nose would rise in a circular motion, hoping to catch the scent of anyone. But nothing.

He recalled capturing the scent of Maverick a long while ago, but that was back by The Singing Caverns, a scent he had by far lost. He would command his nose to stop, and his throat would out stretch to the sky and let out a long, desperate call to everyone he knew. He wondered if they could even recognize his voice?

The Ooze Participant
07-09-2014, 04:46 PM (This post was last modified: 07-09-2014, 05:25 PM by Epiphron.)

Epiphron had not yet reunited with so many of her children. She worried for them, so badly; knowing somehow they were safe, but wanting to see it with her own eyes. There was no way they could be anything but well & flourishing. They were of the Adravendi blood, after all, and it would take much for them to falter, she was sure of this.

And yet she needed to see for herself. To touch them, to hear their voices, to see how much they had grown. Caeto had already seemed so much a man, even from birth. What would he be like now? Near full-grown, she was sure, and she could only imagine how handsome he would be now. It was these thoughts that kept her going, pushing on through the dark nights and the miles that separated her from everyone she loved.

Caeto's scent in particular was hard to track. Though it was familiar to her, it seemed vague and difficult to discern, until it grew stronger. Here was here, in the steppe, in this foreign place that was littered with strange stones. He had been here so soon, she knew it. The woman would search, nose pressed to the dirt, tracing his scent with fervor that would not fade away. But before she reached him, a sound would call out, the voice of her son that she had not seen in so many seasons. Epiphron felt her heart clench in her chest, bursting with anticipation and joy, and quickly she would begin to move toward his call. The journey was alarmingly short, and she hardly had a moment to give him a good look before she embraced him tightly. "My son," she spoke breathlessly, nuzzling into the boy's fur, amazed at how much he truly had grown.

His head lowered after his call, eyes stayed closed to focus for a more distant returned call. But as moments went by, he knew that no one would call back. Would he ever be reunited? His orbs opened as slits, sorrow filled them but nothing fell. And then, a flash of white.

His head lifted to wide eyes and a mouth full of fur, the warm embrace of someone familiar wrapped around him. "Mom?" It was half a question, half a statement. He wasn't sure what to believe at this point. The moment he had been waiting for for so long was finally here, but was it a dream?

He reached his mother's height at his age, his body still growing and filling. He would wrap his neck around hers, realizing that this was real life. Eyelids would close tight, his face pushing into her body more. A face of pain struck him, so much he had pelted inside.

But the memory of Zaria, if it were even true that she had died, it was not something his was willing to fess up yet. He would grasp at his mother in silence, but he was a man of faces instead of voice. He just wanted the moment to last forever, and he never wanted to let go.
