Night Is Your Shelter
The breeze blew warm announcing the coming of summer's hottest days. The aroma of the tall grasses were an intoxicating perfume and the starry night above was a painting more sublime than any man could create. The clarity above became reflected in Mordecai's mind and before the sunset he'd set a plan in motion. He remembered the satisfaction it brought inside his tiny chest when he dismembered the toad when he was out and about with Eulogy the other days. It brought an unknown sentiment inside the tiny ribcage he possessed ad everything was lit aflame with sparks he never once felt before. For a moment his world was on fire and then it dulled again. If he were to be honest, the same happened, for a short moment, when the High Lord mentioned using plants for killing. Perhaps he was too young to understand fully what it entitled however he was moved by it. He wondered for a moment why he was not like his other siblings, they seem to smile more, to express more, to feel more than he did. Was he broken in a way? He did not know and perhaps he could not understand the answers even if he was to ask the questions. All he knew what this and this felt nice for him. So why should he stop? It was like a game of cat and mouse, one that he sometimes played with his siblings only that the end was different. The toad was between his teacup paws and the squirm and sounds lit the pup aflame once again. He enjoyed it, feeling something like this for the first time instead of mimicking others displayd emotions. When they smiled, he smiled. He found it ordinary to express the same emotions as others so he won't get into trouble. The game of cat and mouse soon came to an end with a sort of dying yelp from the toads smily lips and he laid dead within his graps. Speech |
