She'd been thinking about heading to the battlefield, and had wandered in that general direction before getting distracted by the field with its trove of rusting human-things. She'd started poking around, wondering if any of the junk there could be used to make herself some sort of weapon or something. She'd turned over a weird turtle-shell looking thing and was surprised to find a skull in it, and had jumped back, startled, before she'd laughed at herself and gone back to poking at it. It wasn't a wolf skull, or any prey animal she'd ever known. The shape was vaguely primate-like but weirdly rounded. Could it be the remains of a long-extinct human? She wasn't really sure the humans had been anything more than a myth, but if this was a human skull they must have been pretty silly looking. She was guessed the turtle shell looking thing had been meant to protect the head, but it hadn't done a very good job of it. The skull had a neat little hole all the way through the brow and out the back. Closer examination of the inside of the shell thing behind the skull showed a flattened chunk of soft metal dug into the weird metal of the shell, though she couldn't fathom what the purpose of that was. Surely it hadn't killed him, even if it had somehow fallen from a cliff - which there were none around - it wouldn't have gone fast enough to do that sort of damage. Though there were stories about humans being able to spit metal bits that could kill animals... but that was just a myth, right?

Well, either way the weird shell thing wasn't shaped right to fit on a wolf's head, so that wouldn't protect anyone in a fight. She continued her wandering, but while poking around inside a huge metal carcass right on the border with the battlefield she slipped and banged her shoulder against the side and gashed it on a sharp piece of metal, drawing a surprised yelp from her before she could get her balance back. She eyed the bleeding shoulder balefully. Great, lovely. Now what?

Rhyme left Abaven’s borders to do some travelling for a few days. He’d told Shaye he was going to take a little time for himself and had seriously debated bringing along a couple of the pups. However, he decided that they were still a bit too young for the kind of journey he had in mind. He wasn’t confident in his ability to keep them safe on his own. Having some alone time after everything that had happened would do him good as well.

He did his best to avoid Legion, but he couldn’t help his pale paws carrying him in that general direction. Eventually he decided that the battlefield might be the best place to blow off some steam. He hadn’t gotten his fight the other day, and he was still feeling some pent up energy.

The slate alpha loped easily through the plateau, his blue and lavender gaze taking in the unnatural metal formations with interest. He’d always wondered how these structures had appeared here, or how they were created in the first place. If he had been able to work the solid material how impressive would armour or a weapon of the stuff turn out? Alas, he couldn’t even begin to think about how he might harness that power.

He was almost to his goal when a pained yelp reached his ears. Perking them his features swiveled in the direction it had come from. The smell of fresh blood followed as his eyes were finally laid upon the woman’s form. She was little younger than himself and held a beautiful dark pelt. She stood a bit taller than his mother, and Rhyme didn’t miss the evidence of her warrior’s background.

”Do you want some help with that?” He asked curiously as he approached slowly, peering in to where she stood staring at her shoulder. Rhyme kept his head level with his shoulders and his tail down at his legs as it wagged lazily behind him.

Justice had been examining the gash on her shoulder as best as she could, twisting her neck awkwardly to nose at it, when a voice called out to her. She glanced up in chagrin to see a much taller, older Male approaching her, and she had to grin sheepishly. "I would appreciate any help," she told him, giving the wound an awkward lick before turning back to him. "I'm supposed to be a healer but I'm not a very good one. Turns out I'm a lot better at causing injuries than fixing them." She turned an irritated scowl on her shoulder, wishing she had just gone to the nomads for training like Paladin had. Then she could fix this fuck-up by herself, no problem, instead of depending on someone else to do it. "Name's Justice, by the way," she added. Might as well do the whole polite name exchange thing, since it seemed they were going to be getting friendly and all.
