Nothing But a Dream

It had been...years since she was last here. She hadn't seen these blackened shores since the day she left, and now, here she was once again. While she couldn't remember much of her life in these lands before she had left, this particular place she would always remember. This was the place she had lived after her family scattered. This was the last place she had seen her mother and father. Her siblings. Her family. This was the last place she remembered...and perhaps the only place she hadn't forgotten. She never expected to grow as old as she was now. And though she knew her days were numbered, she still pushed on until death decided to claim her. It wasn't so easy anymore. Her bones ached and her eyesight wasn't so great as of late, but she had to see this place one last time.
The old woman sat on the shore and stared out over the water, emerald green eyes watching the gulls soar over the water and enjoyed the gentle breeze tugging at her fur. The palms that rested further up the darkened sand swayed gently with the wind, untouched and otherwise undisturbed after all those years. It didn't seem like much had changed, but she couldn't be so sure. Asides from still not having her family with her anymore, she couldn't say she missed them. She had lost them all at such a young age, she couldn't even remember their faces anymore... Speech Thought Others |
