Aurielle Adravendi

Wind whipped at her, stinging her ears and eyes, yet she remained sitting on the wall, gazing out through slitted eyes. Her mane rippled almost frantically on the capricious fingers of the wind, an iridescent, shimmering snow-white banner against whipped dust and loose grasses borne by the wind.

Her entire coat was rippling like the seas of grass behind and around her. The rain hadn’t struck yet, but it would, if the giant bank of roiling, mountainous thunderheads on the horizon were any indicator. Far from being her time to act as sentry, she was here, thinking.

Her mother was getting no better from the illness she’d sunk into. More than emotional, now, it seemed the funk that had overtaken both Solveiga and Aramis had truly manifested and festered into a physical ill. There was hope, though, in the form of her twin.

She’d realized Aramis was really beginning to come out of it. More than the dull responses she received in the past when she tried to engage them in conversation. He was actually leaving the territory. Alone. What had triggered the awakening, she wasn’t sure. Perhaps it had just been time.

But she knew at the bottom of her soul and her heart, and her very gut, that her mother would not show the same awakening. In the same way she’d known Gwenevere was dying, she knew her mother would part from the world of the living, too.

Her chin tipped to her breast, canines prodding her skin through her buffeted fur. The sigh that hissed through her lips was whipped away on the howling wind. She had been so hopeful, when she’d seen her father and mother and Aramis coming home in time for her first meeting. So hopeful that it would mean joy and strength would fill the pack.

Life didn’t work that way.

Slowly she turned her eyes and scanned the lands beyond the wall, squinting through the harsh wind. Now that Aramis was… well, again… would he be ready to join the working tier? She had no doubt he would be a healer.

A heavy splat smacked her muzzle, almost right between the eyes, and she gave a startled gasp, blinking rapidly. The first splat was followed by more, and soon the shimmering Spirit was forced to run, ducking into one of the hide sentry shelters to evade the sudden heavy, soaking downpour.

At first glance, Aurielle's coat is pure white.. Her fur has an iridescent quality (like moonstones) where the fur shimmers different colors under various angles of light: in this case, the colors shown by rainbow moonstones. Not one hair on her hide is a solid unnatural color, but, ya know, it's really hard to convey that in still art :P
Aurielle's English is heavily laden with an Irish, Swedish mixed accent.
Her family is allowed to crash all her threads, Private and Open.
As of Autumn Year 14, Aurielle glows with a bright blue-white bio-luminescence in her fur, and bears a marking over her left eye - see profile and reference.

It was almost overwhelming how much better Aramis was feeling. Seeing his mother fading away had restored his sense of purpose and determination, and he was truly living again. It felt good to know that he still had the power to help others. Just now, he had helped rescue a young woman from the top of a high boulder. Doing so had greatly increased his confidence. If he could save that young woman, perhaps he had the ability to save his mother as well. But he couldn't do it alone.

These were the thoughts that served as his companion as he made his way back from Wolfpaw Lake. Not long after the rescue, Aramis had noticed bad weather rolling in. He'd had to bid his new acquaintance farewell and make his way home before the rain hit. He'd almost made it, too – the poor boy was only about a hundred yards from the border when the rain started coming down in droves. He grumbled a bit to himself and broke into a sprint, quickly closing the distance to the wall and finding one of the lower points he knew well. He vaulted over it, stopping for a moment to reorient himself and figure out where the nearest shelter would be. Through the blur of the driving rain, he saw one of the sentry shelters. Running toward it, he thought he caught a whiff of his sister. But her scent was everywhere, so it didn't exactly come as a surprise. What did come as a surprise was the fact that she was already waiting out the rain in the sentry shelter he'd chosen. He nearly barreled into her, dripping wet and out of breath.

"Gods above," he exclaimed softly, stopping just in time to avoid their collision. Then, he grinned bashfully. "Sorry about that, Rielle..." From the looks of things, she'd avoided the worst of the rain. Lucky her. Aramis gave his body a quick shake to release as much water as possible, though he was careful not to fling it all in Aurielle's direction. It was nice to see her here. It felt as though he hadn't seen her in so long. Or maybe that was because he was finally waking up.

Aurielle had only been in the shelter for a few minutes when a shadowy figure ducked in, nearly barreling into her. For half a beat she bared her fangs and had to restrain herself from lashing out and tagging the unexpected form with her canines as her twin’s scent filled her nose and his apology met her ears.

The flash of teeth turned into a laugh, half relieved, as she scooted sideways to give Aramis room. “Quite alright, brother… quite a storm out there, don’t you think?”

She leaned into her sibling as soon as he was settled, soaking in the feeling of a brother that wasn’t dull and absent to the world, even if it meant her own coat got wet in the process. “It’s… so good to see you out and about.”

Her eyes slid shut and she sighed. It was both a sound of contentment and melancholy.
