What's That Shadowy Place?

He was growing bored of the lake. It had been their home for a while, but he was itching to stretch his legs and see something other than the same thing every day. That's what brought him towards this area, though he wasn't sure what was here or what purpose all these stones served - if any - he figured maybe it was safer than skirting the borders of the big pack that was on the other side of the lake. The growing, gangly boy climbed up onto the rocks and he looked down at the world from his perch. Far on the horizon he could see storm clouds had formed, but he doubted it would reach his position. Clouds didn't travel that fast, did they? "Nah," Turning away to continue his hike, Dylas was careful not to let his wavy mane get dirty. With him growing bigger, it meant his hair was growing longer, too. And he had to be careful when he walked so he wouldn't step on it.
It was about midday when he finally decides to rest on a boulder that sat haphazardly on the side of the hill. Panting lightly from his solo hike, he decided to rest here before moving on. He briefly wondered if any of his other siblings had decided to go on their own adventures, even if they were close to home. With his tongue hanging out as he caught his breath, he sat and gazed at the world around him. |
