a deep breath calmed her nerves. focus the mind said, the voice inside her head attempting to remain anxiety-free despite its own misgivings. she came here on a whim and was just... well, the whole place was unknown to her. she didn't know where she was going, only that she had to keep moving. tensions may be high here - for there were wolves here like her - due to the humidity. fights about water sources, hunting... hell, even personal relationships. Morgan knew what that was like as a loner. she couldn't wait for autumn to come. it'd be less stressful. not too cold. not too hot. perfect for long trips outside.

because she was literally dying of heat stroke at this moment.

the young woman had traveled quite far to reach these lands and she didn't even know the name of it. or where she was standing at this moment. all she knew is she was alive and that was good enough for her. most people didn't reach new places without a few scratches. she'd done fine for herself. lifting her head, the piebald would wander the ruins of the island without care. sometimes she'd bend idly over to sniff at some crumbling structure before thinking she needed to find somewhere to sleep. the evening filled the sky with purple-pink hues and the birds had gone silent. crickets would come out soon.

at least the heat wasn't unbearable anymore with the lowering sun.

He felt like he was back at square one in his life, scouting territories that would be suitable for a pack. The south had been a perfect spot, but had grown to crowded with packs. His choice had been to disband for the time being and he would call the pack together again once he had found something more suitable. All the hard work of the willows would have to be repeated once he found a new territory and he once again had a lot of work ahead of him. He was also alone once again which the solitude gave him plenty of time to think and plan.

He was feeling a bit like a failure to his family, but he was not giving up on his dream and he was sure the next time he spoke with Ivy that his sister would give him an earful. Shaking his head he tried to push back his thoughts for the moment as he pushed through the south, traveling further away from his home in the weeping woods. He had plans to go to the mangrove, but as he crossed the shore he could see an island not far off the shore. He had only ever explored one island and decided that he had time to swim to the island and do some scouting from there.

Swimming hadn't been to much of a problem for the large male, in fact it had been a very good work out for his muscles. He did however take a break when he got to shore, resting his dark body in the shade until the sun began to set. Once the sun would lower that when he began to roam once again. He took his time, studying the the foliage and even some creatures that lived here on the island. Then he began to move further into the island towards the ruins.

the ruins were interesting but she found no suitable den. at least from what she could see. Morgan roamed without direction as she stepped amongst the place, pausing to stick her head in every hole she could find. she was a picky individual by nature and would only settle for a good place of rest. though she also suffered from restlessness and insomnia sometimes; it was hard to sleep when you had to constantly keep an eye out for your safety. so only a very deep and secretive place would do for her. somewhere out of the public's eye.

but speaking of the public... Morgan twisted her head, spotting movement nearby. it seemed the other creature hadn't spotted her yet and she turned toward them with some interest. from the body frame and scent; it was a wolf. but male, which was always an unknown factor. struggling inwardly with approaching or not, she decided to. after all, they had swum here too from the scent of the water on their coat. walking closer, a dark grey body was soon apparent. she could pick out some markings but not all. it was getting darker and he was almost perfectly camouflaged.

her pale coat was easy to see, and she only waited for him to either notice her or move on. or, y'know, maybe tell her to fuck off and go away. either way was good.
