The barren desert reminded him terribly of the Ashen Empire, as it reached the end of its glory days. With heat and famine striking every corner of their world, until they were desperate and hopeless for the place they had known, and the Klein’s had ruled. Somehow, he didn’t mind the sandy territory, despite the memories it left him with.

He traversed it in the moonlight, when the heat was less oppressive, with Marshall roaming the air as his sentry and first line of warning. With a harsh territory so close to the pack, he wished to better understand it, to know how it fed its inhabitants, and how to best it should they ever find themselves lost in its great expanse.

With this in mind, the Titan would often pause, to sniff at a stray bush, or hiding hole of prey. It slowed their progress immeasurably, and didn’t allow him to venture far into the dangerous territory. Perhaps that was for the best.

At night time the desert was a stark contrast of what it is during the day. It would feel almost cold if it wasn't for Aralanne's thick blue coat. Her navy gaze pierced through the midnight darkness, searching for anything of interest in this desolate place. She knew the bounty of desert territories. It was something that not many would consider a bounty, per say, but to her it was of utmost importance. The only problem was that the she-wolf had no place to store her findings. Perhaps she should re-think finding a den for herself? Maybe by a mountainside, if she could scout one out? That would be ideal considering that she cannot thrive well in hotter climates. Something about the heat made her feel.. off. It felt as if her brain was boiling.

And so her dark-tipped paws threaded the sand, taking her further into a sea of sand. She kept her eyes on her surroundings, looking for a very specific plant. However, instead of a plant she finds something much bigger. A large form moving straight towards her. She froze for a second, unsure if she should proceed further. The silhouette only seemed to grow larger and larger. If she ran now, that very well might provoke a chase, so she decided to keep on walking and demonstrate that she meant no harm but keeping a neutral body language.

They fall in line, One at a time, Ready to play
No time to lose, We've got to move, Steady your hand

Sirius tilted his head upwards at the soft cry of Marshall, the vulture had seen something in the desert, but did not yet class it as a threat. Taking heed the warning, the Titan continued forward without pausing to examine the dens or interests of the landscape. It took him only a moment to see the silhouette of another wolf, her bluish tinge glowing in the light of the moon above them. His own darker colors where more subtle, so long as she did not catch a glimpse of the whites that likely gave him away.

Fire your guns, It's time to run, Blow me away.
After the fall, We'll shake it off, Show me the way

He nodded his head to his companion, hinting in the gesture that he had this under control. That done, he would continue until he was a polite distance from the stranger, and would see that she was a female. Her height wasn’t as lesser as some he had encountered, but there was still a monumental difference between himself and this wolf. He caught on her the scent of desert life, and he wondered if she too had come to scavenge from this land - albeit more successfully than the clueless Titan.

Only the strongest will survive
Lead me to heaven, when we die

The neutral language of her body indicated no desire for violence, and the man took pains not to tower over her, so she would not see him as a danger in the night. Of his unusually elongated fangs, he could not diminish they protruded from between his lips, no matter what he did. “Enjoying the moonlight?” he asked, amused and polite both with the words.

I am a shadow on the wall
I'll be the one to save us all

A soft cry of a vulture echoed across the open space of the sands, the darkness making it difficult for Aralanne to locate the bird save for when it flew in the moonlight. Interesting, she thought idly. For her, vultures were signs of death and decay. They fed on leftovers, which meant that there must be a carcass nearby. That would be a good find, her food has been mainly critters lately. She was never a great hunter, especially living as a rogue.

However, such ponderings were pushed aside for now. Her attention was directed to the approaching behemoth. The closer he got, the better she could see him. His features were outstanding: the last detail she noticed were two sharp elongated fangs. Fascinating! She's never seen anything like that. For a few seconds she forgot about the danger that this man possessed, in complete awe of this abnormality. It was fully possible that these fangs were normal around this region and that it was only abnormal in her eyes. Aralanne paused in front of the dark wolf, staring towards the elongated teeth. When he spoke, she moved her blue eyes to meet his. "Ah, yes.. I am." She said distracted, then gazed back at his muzzle. "I apologize, sir! But your fangs.. they.. they're fascinating." The girl breathes out the words as if to express her admiration. Was it possible that he is a completely different species to her? In the dark you couldn't quite tell. She cocks her head to one side as if to check if he has the same tail as her. What if his tail was that of a feline? Now that would be a definite sign that he is something between a wolf and a cat!

Marshall circled in large, lazy patterns above him as he waited for his Master to return to his investigations of the desert. The wolf mostly ignored him for the moment, his attention on the small, interesting canine before him, with her bright blue eyes that fixed on him with unabiding curiosity. He suspected he knew what had drawn her eye, he was yet to see another wolf in this land that shared the feature of his fangs. In truth, it hadn’t been common, even back in the Ashen Empire he had been born to.

Her answer was fleeting, as through she paid no mind to the words that left her muzzle. He bared his fangs in a silent smile, tilting his white saber teeth towards her, not in a threat, but to give her a different vantage point on what clearly interested her. He almost chuckled at her words, when she confirmed exactly what it was she stared at. “I’m glad they entertain you so,” he said. It was strange to have them revered instead of frightening to a stranger. His dire height and clear fighting tool didn’t often elicit this reaction.

“did you want a closer inspection?” he asked, curious to see how close he could get this small, star-dazzled wolf to come to him. He didn’t mean her any harm, not without his masters near by to order him to do so, nor any clear threat to the Empire he was devoted to. Still, he was.. Curious.

He was a friendly guy, at least that's what Aralanne thought when he smiled. She felt less threatened now, her attention on the subject of his interesting fangs. It was definitely something that sparked her curiosity, her never ending thirst for knowledge driving her forward and sometimes even placing her in dangerous situations. When he suggested giving her a closer look, anyone with the right mind would be fearful. Especially if they were a much smaller and had little to none advantage compared to the behemoth of a man. However, curiosity killed the cat. She was absolutely buzzing at the notion, nodding excitedly like a pup. "May I?" Her features lit up, brows raising to emphasize. Without much of a wait, the blue she-wolf moved closer to break into the stranger's person space, shoving her face into his (as much as possible, considering their height difference) to inspect the long, sharp fangs. She cocks her head around, moving to get different angles and murmuring words of fascination every time.  "Wow.." she breathes "Astonishing! They really aren't fake!" She gazed up into his eyes, noticing for the first time the pale markings across his left eye. "Are you a warrior, sir?" The girl questions, reclining her haunches to sit back, fluffy tail curling around her feet. "I am asking because with those fangs.. you would have a great advantage in battle." Her ocean gaze shined at the thought: he was certainly built for battle, not only because of his fangs but overall. His size was perfect.

He was almost tempted to claim her for Ashen, with her soft blue coat and bright eyes, Deathbelle would be sure to be pleased with such a gift. Of course, he was a slave himself and it was not his place to decide who the pack might call their own. He would presume too much. Instead, he simply allowed his curiosity to take the better of him, as he invited the wolf closer.

He was amused when she confirmed her right to inspect him, and he gave his head a short, brisk nod. The closer she came, the more their height difference became stark and obvious. He almost laughed out loud when the wolf was directly before him -she was almost half his height!

With the excitement of a pup, she pushed herself into his personal space, but the man barely blinked. He was a slave, and he was accustomed to having the rights to no things, and some masters had a habit of pushing themselves too close to comfort well they threatened their slaves.

He lowered his head slightly, so she might inspect them even closer. The saber-toothed fangs where thick, long and sharp. If she touched the end of them, she just might draw blood. “I am a guard, and have been in my fair share of battles” he said, giving away very little of the truth with his words.

His answer was no surprise to her. "A guard.." she repeats, looking up to the taller stranger. It's good he was taking advantage of his physical prowess. Sometimes she wondered what kind of path she would've took if she was more fit for battle than for anything else. I'd still steer clear from battle, that's for sure. Big or not, all that mattered was inside your brain and your heart. If your heart desired to shed no blood, then you wouldn't. That's how things went in her mind, anyway. Freedom is a right, not a privilege. "Who do you guard?" She asked boldly, but then corrected herself. "If that's not a secret!" Aralanne grinned from ear to ear. Did he have anyone to guard right now? Maybe he does that only from time to time.

He was standing very still, stiff, almost in his careful posture, as he looked across at the wolf before him. With his lowered head, he wasn’t looking down on the one he spoke to for once. She seemed utterly smitten by his fangs, and how he might use them in battle. This wolf was utterly fearless, grinning up into his giant form, peering at his deedly fangs, and hearing how he had fought and killed in battle without so much as twitching.

It was rare to find one so courageous, or perhaps it was this land. The wolves here weren’t beaten down by an empire that knew themselves better than all others. They could live their lives in freedom and curiosity, fearless.

She wondered who he was set to guard, and he eyes her for a moment, but in truth found no reason not to tell her. Let others know a battle-hardened titan protected the Empress of the Ashen Empire, so that they might think twice before they cross her. “Would you in turn tell me something about yourself?” he teased, through he would give her the answer whether she agreed or not.
“I guard Deathbelle, who is the Empress of the Ashen Empire”

To call her fearless would be an overestimation. Aralanne was more naive when it came to the dangers of the world and almost always saw the good in others, neglecting that the bad was sure to exist. She never has participated in any battle, nor had anyone tried to force her into anything against her will. That is, if we don't count bullying of course. But even then she had paid it little mind, focusing on the good rather than the bad.

The man inquires more information about her, and the blue girl nods in response. "Of course," it was a fair deal. Knowledge for knowledge. The name he mentions speaks little to her, nor did she know of this.. empire, but it sounded like a huge kingdom. This land must be very big, then.. which meant she had so much more to explore! The girl idly wondered how many new plants and useful things she could find. "Sounds like a serious task. Your Empress must have a lot on her plate too." Like enemies. Didn't all great leaders have enemies? It was almost guaranteed to have somebody chasing after you, especially if you put yourself in the limelight like that.

She wouldn't try avoiding her part of the deal though. Let's see.. what could she say about herself? She knew she wasn't necessarily boring, but nor was she that interesting. Surely not as interesting as the guard of a great ruler. "As for me.. I am just a loner, a wanderer.." She said, smiling kindly. "Not very interesting, I'm afraid." Then she remembered her task. "Oh! By the way, have you by any chance seen a small cactus resembling a ball nearby?" Not like everyone was on the lookout for a ball-like cactus, but she took her chances.
