At night time the desert was a stark contrast of what it is during the day. It would feel almost cold if it wasn't for Aralanne's thick blue coat. Her navy gaze pierced through the midnight darkness, searching for anything of interest in this desolate place. She knew the bounty of desert territories. It was something that not many would consider a bounty, per say, but to her it was of utmost importance. The only problem was that the she-wolf had no place to store her findings. Perhaps she should re-think finding a den for herself? Maybe by a mountainside, if she could scout one out? That would be ideal considering that she cannot thrive well in hotter climates. Something about the heat made her feel.. off. It felt as if her brain was boiling.
And so her dark-tipped paws threaded the sand, taking her further into a sea of sand. She kept her eyes on her surroundings, looking for a very specific plant. However, instead of a plant she finds something much bigger. A large form moving straight towards her. She froze for a second, unsure if she should proceed further. The silhouette only seemed to grow larger and larger. If she ran now, that very well might provoke a chase, so she decided to keep on walking and demonstrate that she meant no harm but keeping a neutral body language.

A soft cry of a vulture echoed across the open space of the sands, the darkness making it difficult for Aralanne to locate the bird save for when it flew in the moonlight. Interesting, she thought idly. For her, vultures were signs of death and decay. They fed on leftovers, which meant that there must be a carcass nearby. That would be a good find, her food has been mainly critters lately. She was never a great hunter, especially living as a rogue.
However, such ponderings were pushed aside for now. Her attention was directed to the approaching behemoth. The closer he got, the better she could see him. His features were outstanding: the last detail she noticed were two sharp elongated fangs. Fascinating! She's never seen anything like that. For a few seconds she forgot about the danger that this man possessed, in complete awe of this abnormality. It was fully possible that these fangs were normal around this region and that it was only abnormal in her eyes. Aralanne paused in front of the dark wolf, staring towards the elongated teeth. When he spoke, she moved her blue eyes to meet his. "Ah, yes.. I am." She said distracted, then gazed back at his muzzle. "I apologize, sir! But your fangs.. they.. they're fascinating." The girl breathes out the words as if to express her admiration. Was it possible that he is a completely different species to her? In the dark you couldn't quite tell. She cocks her head to one side as if to check if he has the same tail as her. What if his tail was that of a feline? Now that would be a definite sign that he is something between a wolf and a cat!

He was a friendly guy, at least that's what Aralanne thought when he smiled. She felt less threatened now, her attention on the subject of his interesting fangs. It was definitely something that sparked her curiosity, her never ending thirst for knowledge driving her forward and sometimes even placing her in dangerous situations. When he suggested giving her a closer look, anyone with the right mind would be fearful. Especially if they were a much smaller and had little to none advantage compared to the behemoth of a man. However, curiosity killed the cat. She was absolutely buzzing at the notion, nodding excitedly like a pup. "May I?" Her features lit up, brows raising to emphasize. Without much of a wait, the blue she-wolf moved closer to break into the stranger's person space, shoving her face into his (as much as possible, considering their height difference) to inspect the long, sharp fangs. She cocks her head around, moving to get different angles and murmuring words of fascination every time. "Wow.." she breathes "Astonishing! They really aren't fake!" She gazed up into his eyes, noticing for the first time the pale markings across his left eye. "Are you a warrior, sir?" The girl questions, reclining her haunches to sit back, fluffy tail curling around her feet. "I am asking because with those fangs.. you would have a great advantage in battle." Her ocean gaze shined at the thought: he was certainly built for battle, not only because of his fangs but overall. His size was perfect.

His answer was no surprise to her. "A guard.." she repeats, looking up to the taller stranger. It's good he was taking advantage of his physical prowess. Sometimes she wondered what kind of path she would've took if she was more fit for battle than for anything else. I'd still steer clear from battle, that's for sure. Big or not, all that mattered was inside your brain and your heart. If your heart desired to shed no blood, then you wouldn't. That's how things went in her mind, anyway. Freedom is a right, not a privilege. "Who do you guard?" She asked boldly, but then corrected herself. "If that's not a secret!" Aralanne grinned from ear to ear. Did he have anyone to guard right now? Maybe he does that only from time to time.

To call her fearless would be an overestimation. Aralanne was more naive when it came to the dangers of the world and almost always saw the good in others, neglecting that the bad was sure to exist. She never has participated in any battle, nor had anyone tried to force her into anything against her will. That is, if we don't count bullying of course. But even then she had paid it little mind, focusing on the good rather than the bad.
The man inquires more information about her, and the blue girl nods in response. "Of course," it was a fair deal. Knowledge for knowledge. The name he mentions speaks little to her, nor did she know of this.. empire, but it sounded like a huge kingdom. This land must be very big, then.. which meant she had so much more to explore! The girl idly wondered how many new plants and useful things she could find. "Sounds like a serious task. Your Empress must have a lot on her plate too." Like enemies. Didn't all great leaders have enemies? It was almost guaranteed to have somebody chasing after you, especially if you put yourself in the limelight like that.
She wouldn't try avoiding her part of the deal though. Let's see.. what could she say about herself? She knew she wasn't necessarily boring, but nor was she that interesting. Surely not as interesting as the guard of a great ruler. "As for me.. I am just a loner, a wanderer.." She said, smiling kindly. "Not very interesting, I'm afraid." Then she remembered her task. "Oh! By the way, have you by any chance seen a small cactus resembling a ball nearby?" Not like everyone was on the lookout for a ball-like cactus, but she took her chances.
