Lonely

Malleus had been a bit broody as of late. Serene...was so busy Malleus felt it had been months since he'd had a chance to even speak with her. Perhaps this shouldn't have effected him so - he was a god and she was only a mortal - but he missed her. He missed talking with her. Laughing with her. Holding her in his arms... It had taken him an embarrassingly long time to diagnose himself. He was lonely. Serene was his confidante, the only wolf in Risen he felt comfortable with sharing his feelings and asking for advice. Being on the top of the heap made him feel like he couldn't go to the others for advice. Not because he felt he couldn't trust them but because he didn't want to lower their opinion of him. He was supposed to always be strong and certain, never ever weak. But sometimes he was weak. That knowledge disturbed him so he'd decided to go for a walk beyond Risen's borders. He'd walked until he'd reached the coast side of wildberry grove. There he'd sat down to brood, an activity only interrupted by the arrival of Pascal who had gone home and then returned with fishing line and hooks. In silence the pair worked on setting up lines. Pascal threaded hooks and sent them flying out past the surf, and Malleus made sure the sticks the lines were attached to were firmly buried. |
