This was the best adventure yet. He’d done a lot of exploring back home already, though he’d gotten in trouble more than a couple times for going too far. Lachlan hadn’t gotten himself completely lost yet, for being so young he knew how to remember his way around. However, home didn’t have the same sense of adventure as the island did. Though the boy had been eager to make the swim across by himself, his father hadn’t allowed any of them to swim on their own. Of course the young pup was gone as soon as his feet had been allowed to touch the ground.

There wasn’t much in the way of dangers on the island, especially with so many eyes to see any pup that might have gotten into trouble. Lachlan was happy on his own, he was quiet and wanted to see everything. Clumsy white paws carried him forward into the darkness, his nose to the ground as he took in all the strange scents and smells. It was soooo different from home! He held a smile on his little puppy face despite concentrating so heavily on the ground in front of him. He was so caught up in the smells he had nearly bonked himself on the head more than once.

Ivory tail wagged with incredible speed behind him, he was in his element and he was happy.

Saren still wasn’t sure about this whole festival thing, his dad and sister had come but he would still rather be back home. Saren was used to being alone and as far as he could tell he preferred it that way. Saren had wandered away from his family to go look for places to hide or do something more interesting. The pup still wasn’t sure what interested him, but there had to be something out there.

As he wandered he came across what seemed to be another pup a little bit younger than him at that. Socializing still wasn’t his strong suit and he was inclined to walk the other way. He then remembered his conversation with his dad though about how sometimes you had to do things you didn’t want to. Saren instead said a small “H-Hi” his posture wasn’t confident at all and had an evil wolf seen him he would’ve made an easy target.

Saren’s thoughts flew and landed him again in the land of anxiety and fear. There was no place for him to hide from this was there.

Lachlan froze when he heard the voice, for a few seconds his body didn’t move. Then with great curiosity he turned his bright curious features towards the voice of the other pup. He’d never seen this one before! Probably much too eagerly the young boy toddled closer, nose sniffing and eyes curious as he took in the stranger. He tried to sniff at the older boy’s paws, curious about the unfamiliar scents. He was so strange!

”Hai.” Lachlan offered quietly, he wasn’t a loud pup by any means. His tail wagged again and he took a few more sniffs before turning his eyes to the boy's face. He tilted his head curiously, freezing once more. Head tilted and eyes curious as he plopped down and stared at the stranger.

Saren was surprised by the boldness of the other pup. They came up and started sniffing him and he wasn’t quite sure what to do. Just standing there letting the other pup do whatever before they returned his lackluster greeting. Seeing the other pup sit down and start staring at him Saren began to stare back. He rarely got this far in an interaction, even then normally the other person took control of the conversation.

Trying to think of something to say Saren’s eyes began to widen in fear, frantically glancing at the scenery around them. “Uhh, Umm, Tree!” Flawless.
