He was curious to see how far she would follow him on this little hunting trip. He wasn't particularly tired, but he wanted far away from those deathtrap caves. Every so often he would pause in his steps to brake check her, making sure she was paying attention. If she was not, he knew he could not rely on her to keep her eyes open for danger while they were on the move. He was a survivalist, after all.. and would only settle for likewise in his company.
He was confident that even if she did lack the ability to remain keenly alert at all times, he could train her to do so. It was honestly far more exciting than he initially figured it would be, but already... the youth was going through all the different ways that the two could spend their future days together. She seemed well-mannered and obedient at least, he hoped he didn't let her slip away from him.
Once they made it to the islands, he would stop on the sandy shore with his chest heaving from the spent effort it took to even swim here. His weight retired to his haunches as he sat there, letting the water roll off his heavy fur for a moment. Crystal eyes looked to her, hopeful that she wasn't on the verge of passing out yet. They had a lot left to do!
It was the reflective fin of the native fish on this island fighting the push and pull of the gentle tide. It seemed that the hunt was already on and he had no time to explain, so without even mentioning anything else to her he sprinted off past her and headed straight for the shallow waves where he saw that fin. Paws slapped the waves as he tried to draw out another fish. There was a whole school up here feeding in the shallow, warm water and he was determined to toss as many as he could back up on to the beach.

The shore of the sand felt rather nice on the young pup’s paws as she took in a gentle breath of relaxation. She could have a small break at least as she sat her haunches down onto the grainy stones of the shore, her dual-toned eyes of dandelion and ice watched the dark-colored male with interest. He had at least been rather kind to her as of late...though she would definitely have to get used to some of the swearing which was a definite for her. So, fish was something that she would have to catch? The thought of it made her raise an eyebrow in interest, but before she could have a say of anything his expression changed which startled her.
It appeared he was glancing over her shoulder as she turned her body to the side slightly to get a proper look of what riled him up. Some finish were fighting the waters of the island as she soon figured out what he was planning on doing as she followed suit and walked over to the body of water. She never really caught a fish before, and considering she was still young and inexperienced this was something totally new to her. Her cranium tilted slightly as she watched Dominus before trying to take a crack at it herself. Some of the fish bumped up against her leg as she tried to keep her balance. However, what she didn’t expect was a large fish to jump out in front of her as her eyes widened, yelping slightly from the surprise as her small frame collided into the water.
So...now she ended up making a fool of herself as she soon got up as best she could, hoping her hunting companion didn’t think any less of her as she tried again, her eyes narrowing slightly in determination as she watched for a possible opening.

He could hear Altair following behind him, hear her legs disturbing the waves. It was low tide, but she was so much smaller than him... the thought of how hard it would be for her to fight the current herself did not cross his mind. He turned himself around so he could keep an eye on her and watch out for any chance that she would be in danger. It felt odd being so protective of someone, but that was part of sharing company with them right? At least, little pipsqueaks like this.
He chuckled as he called her a pipsqueak in his head and watched as a fish defeated her and sent her down into the water. She was soaked all over again and he could not stop laughing. He stepped forward and pressed his nose into her side as she stood up, if she would let him. He wanted to help her get up, even if he was laughing- after all, he wanted to help her get better!

A slight blush of embarrassment came upon her features after she toppled into the water. She wasn’t sure as to why she was embarrassed, but hearing someone with a little more experience laugh at your mistake did kind of hurt her a little bit- even if it wasn’t intentional. Though she still got up with his help and went back into trying to catch some fish. The silver within the water after the sun’s rays hit off the fish’s fins was rather unique to her. Not a lot of fish came around where she lived, so it was a different experience than what the pup was used to. But, she couldn’t possibly smack the fish out of the water, the male beside her however was a different story due to how large and robust he was compared to her petite frame.
A slight groan of annoyance from the fish caused her to be a little more serious with things. Even if she were to make a fool out of herself again, she will find a way to get a large fish to show that she wasn’t a quitter. Her paws dug into the sand a little bit for more balance as she watched the fish for an easy target, her ears flicking slightly for any form of danger that might come around the area.
After some investigating, she saw a nice sized fish that she could possibly be able to snag as she quickly brought her canines down around it’s body. Though the fish was a little larger than what she could carry, she still kept her balance to the best of her ability as her head was bobbing and shaking from the fish trying to escape her jaws. How she hadn’t fallen again was beyond her as she brought it to the shore, her jaw a bit sore but otherwise she was alright, looking to Dominus in hopes that she did alright for a catch, even though her fish wasn’t as big as the ones he kept smacking out of the water.

He could not have been more proud as she managed to get her first fish. He took a moment to pause from his own fishing as he stood in the gentle waves, his tail held high and his head turned away from the ocean's mist. He wanted to make sure she got it all the way to the shore and out of the range of the waves before he looked away.
She did, and she looked back to him and he could not keep a grin off his muzzle.
