What do the spirits say?

Pesto had a lot on her mind. Her days were spent exploring, playing, but also listening to her father's sermons and learning of the history of the Abraxas and Klein bloodlines. It didn't sit right with Pestilence, how could her father be this divine being - and by extension, Pesto and her siblings too - but her mother was a mere mortal? She loved her father, but her mother was the strongest and most amazing woman she'd ever met... it wasn't fair to think of her as lesser, and Pesto couldn't wrap her mind around how the Abraxas lineage could ever be stronger then the Klein bloodline that ran throughout Ashen. Aunt Pandora was a priestess, mom said. Pestilence thought that might mean she could talk to ghosts, but wasn't really sure. Today she decided to journey to her aunty's den and ask the question that had been looming on her mind. Surely the ghosts would know if she was a God, right? She crouched low as she got close enough for the smell of Pandora to reach her nose. Would she see the ghosts? Did they guard the den? Would they hurt her? The small pup trembled slightly and a cool breeze washed over her. Blackened ears perked forward to listen as she crept closer, finally towards the den's entrance. "Aunty?" She whispered, half-expecting a spooky voice to shout back. "Thinking" "You." |

The babe was inside her den with her latest project. It was coming along nicely, but she needed more material to continue to forge it the way she wanted. She carefully placed it atop a rabbit skin, looking it over as she considered how to proceed with what she had now. However, as she set about getting back to work on it, she heard the voice of a young child just outside. Her ears perked slightly as she turned around to see one of Belle's whelps standing outside. She had nothing against the children themselves, though she primarily had an issue with their father. He worshiped a false god, and was passing that on to the children. Her lip curled in disgust at the fact, but she composed herself before she started through the shadows of her den. Her melanistic side blended flawlessly with the darkness, and that was the side that showed first before she emerged from her den. Part of her was like a shadow reaching out from the confines of the darkness until she fully faced the child. "Yes, child?" She questioned softly, not unkindly and with a bit of curiosity. Whatever could the girl want? "Can you see me?" |

Pestilence spooked a little as her aunt came into view, her small legs still trembling slightly beneath her. Her aunt was as mysterious and dark as the ghosts she could talk to, and Pesto's head lowered to look between the Klein woman's legs and see if a spooky spirit might be looming behind her. Pandora spoke then, and Pesto spooked once more before clearing her throat and doing her best to stand straight. "I just wanted someone to hang out with." She lied. The last thing Pestilence would willingly go do in her spare time was to hang around with ghosts and phantoms, but she didn't want to appear too eager. Whatever came up in conversation would just come up, right? That way Pandora would not be able to report back to Pesto's mother and father that she'd been questioning her religion. "Hang out with, chat with, maybe.. see what I want to be when I grow up." The pup did her best to feign nonchalance, turning away from the Klein to kick a small mound of dirt with her paw as she spoke. Purple gaze moved sideways to observe her Aunt from the corners of her eyes, her curiosity and intrigue coming through against her will. "What's a priestess do?" "Thinking" "You." |

It's a storm!
Just as the pup asks her question, the wind picks up and dark clouds seem to appear on the horizon. This quick moving storm lashes out, the cold air suddenly whipping around them in howling waves. Trees bend and twist and birds are seen flying backwards and losing control mid flight. It's a sudden storm! There's something strange in the lack of rain, as if the clouds didn't have the chance to ever start. The clouds spur twisters that rarely seem to make it to the ground. The ones that do don't touch down for long. Lightning flashes, but the thunder is swallowed by the sound of the wind. Eventually, the winds die down and finally the rain breaks through, leaving leaves and branches scattered across the ground.
