His expression dour, Malleus trudged up the mountain with Archon. Though they had their differences both could agree on one thing: they needed to talk. It was for that reason they had agreed to meet somewhere neutral. Each brought with them a single witness to testify to the proceedings. Both witnesses were wolves of significant standing in their respective packs. This would ensure that if an agreement was made and taken back to their people, the groups would have little reason to doubt its authenticity. This was less of an issue in Malleus' case as he, unlike Archon, was the ultimate authority in his pack. It was for that reason that he found the second reason they were there more important. They needed witnesses in case things didn't go quite so smoothly. Malleus paused at the summit and turned to face his brother. For now their witnesses were far below them on the mount. Whether or not they would be brought forth to hear an agreement was still up in the air. But, agreement or not, Malleus had no intention of walking away today with tying up the many loose ends his brother's time in Boreas had created. "Alright, brother," he said with a sigh. "Where do we start?" |
