Pyrrhic was exhausted. He was bruised and blistered. Falling embers had burned him, the roiling ground had beat him, but he'd had no choice but to run. It was run or die and he had no intention of becoming another victim of the earth.

So here he was now, running through the swamp. The threat was behind him, technically he was safe now, but he couldn't stop. His family needed to know what had happened. They would need answers and they would need him.

Because he was metaphorically riding down shit creek in a leaky canoe and he wasn't allowed to see the bright side of anything, he tripped on a hidden root and went sprawling in the muck with his mouth open.

Pyrrhic has a male mandrill companion named Benkos. Unless he's mentioned IC it's safe to assume he's not with Pyrrhic.
