His sides heaving, Pyrrhic collapsed beneath a gnarled tangle of dried out kudzu. He didn't know if he could take anymore. Everything hurt, including cliche or not, his heart. The longer he ran the more real what had happened on the mountain felt. The knowledge was like venom; with every clench of his heart it was driven deeper into his body. It hurt him more and more with each beat. His dad was gone. He was only going to rest a short while. Whether his legs and lungs liked it or not, he needed to get to Auster now. His father would have wanted him to. He had to get there for Malleus. Their family needed to know what had happened and they needed to be warned of the coming clouds.
