It was far enough here from the Danger Zone that the air was clean and fresh, however steeply cold it was. Yong Cheng found himself wandering as much away from the volcano's blast radius as he could. Here, ash no longer hung in the sky, and it wasn't as bleak as before, but it was far from the azure of past seasons.

Yong Cheng knew that having knowledge was what he wanted. He was a lone wolf; he had no one to care for him, and no one to care for, but himself. Therefore, he thought, it was of utmost importance that he learn the ways of the plants. He would begin with the basics.

He listed in his head what he knew -- it wasn't much.

蒲公英，木贼，绣线菊。。。

Alright, he could see some 绣线菊 -- it seemed to be common here, and this far removed from the volcano, it still grew. Just not as plentifully as before. Yong Cheng moved to get it, carefully treading the soft earth in the bitter cold.
