The young boy flew from the den, whenever he was allowed his freedom from the confines the energetic pup took it and literally ran. His parents were both ancient and couldn’t really chase after him anymore, but he was a well behaved boy and he’d been shown the boundaries. He still had an invisible fence holding him in, but there was much more to explore.

Océan’s huge puppy paws carried him forward over the pathway and his dark nose was pressed to every strange surface. He was continually distracted by the new scents presented to him. Everything was new, everything was so big. There was so much to see and so much the young boy wanted to know.

He stopped suddenly and turned his dark features back towards the den, and his tail wagged eagerly at his hips. ”Papa!” Océan called out for his father to join him, if anyone had answers it was his sire.

Age was slowing him down a bit more but the old male found joy in spending time with his children. He loved them all so, surprised to hear that one of the children looked a fair bit like he did. That made him happy, truthfully. He could already tell they were growing into strong individuals and could not have been prouder to be a father, advanced age or not.

His children were also careful to not go beyond their boundaries and Feli was grateful for that. He worried, especially with his lack of vision, but they were good kids. He felt secure in the fact that, one day, when age or something else took him, he could rest knowing his children would be alright.

Hearing Ocean’s call the old man’s ears twitched and he rose. It wasn’t as fast as he’d like, body protesting at the movement, but he would never deny a request from the little ones.

“J'arrive, ma petite. Tiens bon pour moi.” {{I'm coming, my little one. Hang tight for me.}}

He made his way out of the den to feel sunlight on his back. He breathed in, getting a general location of where his son was and approached with a smile on his grayed muzzle.

“You are ready to explore, non?” He gave a soft chuckle.

“We should go a bit further today, Ocean. Let’s see if we can’t figure out something for you to tell your siblings later.”

There was a slight mischievous hint to his tone. Nothing made kids excited like being able to brag to their siblings… and Ocean would be the first to go a bit further than he and Avalon allowed. It’d be with him, sure, but he was sure it’d still mean the world to his son.
