I've Got To Have Some Bacon In My Beans

Natha had chosen to keep her den in the pines where the terrain was more familiar, more natural. However, that didn't mean she wasn't curious about the strange metal place where some of the Winterfell members had their dens. She gazed out at the ship, ears flicking forward and back. Gray clouds were starting to build in the sky, starting to cover over the sun which managed to peek out in a few places. She wondered if a winter storm was going to be moving in soon.
The rusty, dark ship was encased thickly in ice. It looked above her and she took a deep breath before walking inside. She moved slowly, eyeing the metal walls suspiciously as she stood in the entry way.

Drífa had been taking an afternoon nap when she suddenly felt like someone had entered. She stirred, blinking her eyes against the light shining in her window before she stopped and waited and listened. She didn't hear anything but her nose caught the faint smell of feline. She remembered that Acere had mentioned something about a lynx joining temporarily. Stretching she got to her feet and walked into the hallway, curious to meet this new creature. She didn't have to go far before she noticed the lynx peeking her head into the entrance of the ship. She smiled.
"Hello there, you must be our new member. Welcome to the ship. My name is Drífa."

Natha had just crossed the threshold when a short, pale wolf appeared and greeted her. Natha dipped her head gently as the wolf introduced herself as Drífa. "Correct, my name is Natha. I just wanted to take a peek at this unusual cave system." She moved fully out into the hallway before a room caught her eye. She slipped into a room full of shelves with various items stacked on the shelves. Jars, tins, and all manner of objects rested there. It was full of a number of strange smells, mostly metal and plants.
"Why do you choose to den in such a place? Seems a bit strange to me." She was curious why anyone would want to live in an abandoned hooman dwelling.

Drífa listened as the feline introduced herself as Natha and then the cat proceeded to walk into one of the store rooms, in particular the one that Drífa was using to stock pile herbs. She swiftly followed the feline into the room. She'd heard of cats and their curiosity, particularly when it came to testing gravity with inanimate objects and she didn't want to see any of her precious jars meet an early end.
"Well, it's stable and secure. It's survived several storms, though you'll have to ask Acere for the real answer as to why this is one of Winterfell's territories. Could I maybe interest you in a cup of tea? I happen to be a skilled healer and crafter." To be honest the cat didn't strike her as the kind to sit for a cup of tea but she figured she'd at least offer.

Natha stood up on her hind legs to take a closer look at some of the jars. Inside were all kinds of dried herbs though some were filled with strangely colored liquid and bits of plants. She settled back on all fours and reached out a claw to tap at the strange metallic surface. It was cold. It felt colder to her than stone but perhaps she was biased. Drífa offered up a few reasons for why the wolves lived here but to be honest it still creeped Natha out. She was content to stay in the pines, out in nature where they were intended to be by the Vast Spirit that put them there.
Natha shook her head. "Oh, that won't be necessary. I just wanted to take a quick peek but I really should get back to my hunting. It was nice to meet you." With that she slipped back out of the ship and went on her way.

Drífa was a bit saddened that Natha had declined her request, even though she'd been expecting it. There was something about the cat's unease that made it unlikely for her to stick around despite Drífa's attempts to make the feline comfortable. Natha bid her goodbyes. "Yes, you too." She watched the cat leave then shook her head before she went to go back over her stores. She felt like some tea. Winterfell had been quiet lately and it set her on edge. Was everyone just busy preparing for the raid and for winter? She was starting to feel a bit lonesome but Halla would be back soon and then she'd at least have a little company. Halla was particularly fond of jasmine tea. Maybe she'd get some of that going so that it would be ready by the time her companion came back.
