The festival had been a success, and so had the interest in the tournament that had been announced that he was hosting. After all the participants were accounted for, he led the march to the battlefield where the tournament would take place. He was curious to know who would win the first rounds as well as who would reign supreme at the end of it all. There were many he recognized, but also many he didn't. Regardless of who won the tournament, they'd be crowned Winterfell's Champion until the next tournament. After everyone was gathered, he started off by announcing the first of the fights. "First round for the intermediate division starts with Venom and Incendio. Remember, this is a dominance fight. Just do your best and may the best wolf win. Good luck you two!" The Northern King moved off to the side to spectate as well as start the other matches. He was curious to know who'd win the first rounds, and of course, who would reign supreme at the end of it all. Venom stalked proudly after the northern king as he paired the participants off for their bouts. Her young mind was eager and her paws itched to get into fights. She was young and naive to think she would pull out a win, but the girl was eager and felt unstoppable. The boy she would fight was similarly blessed like her sister, and her features asserted a grin in amusement at the coincidence.

However, there was no affection for the antlered yearling. Venom wouldn’t take it easy on him even if he did remind her of his sister. With the flick of her tongue the princess wouldn’t give Incendio anymore warning as she attempted to leap at him. Venom aimed to slash her left paw at his face, sharp claws extended to rake over his left eye. Her quills stood up with her hackles and her jaws parted to aim a striking blow at the left side of his neck where it met his shoulder.

There were so many wolves of all kinds the boy couldn't keep his eyes off them all! Even while following his uncle, he nearly bumped into the Northern King a couple times since he was so distracted! He felt a bit awkward though, self conscious about the antlers he had but it seemed there were quite a few others with some interesting things of their own. And of course, he wasn't the only horned one here! Dragon had a set of horns on his head, and his cousin Winter had her own set of curled horns, too. But wait, there's more! He spotted a girl among them that had some strange looking fur...he couldn't quite tell what but it almost sort of looked like what a porcupine had? He found that really interesting!

And to both his surprise and delight, he got paired up with her! Trying to keep himself composed, Incendio moved to meet her in their own little sparring spot, and almost as soon as he looked at her he did a double take. Was...was that her tongue!? He swore that looked like a snake or lizard tongue! What the heck!? Man, this chick seemed pretty cool! Adjusting the pair of golden fangs he had in his mouth, he lowered into a defensive position and he was ready.

Almost immediately, Venom came towards him and had suddenly slashed at his face with...what!? Cat claws too!? He thought quickly before recoiling from surprise. He lowered his head out of reflex, his antlers managing to save his face from getting cut up in the nick of time. Recovering quickly from his surprise, Incendio jerked his head to the side in an attempt to dislodge her paw and (hopefully) throw her balance off a bit. As she aimed to bite, he countered with his own teeth and twisted his head towards hers, golden fangs gleaming as he sought to catch her jaws in his own.

Venom was serious about her battles, but the other yearling’s barely withheld enthusiasm brought a grin to her dark lips. He was quick on his feet, and as his vibrant colors flashed he wasn’t taken unawares. White gloved legs thrust her forward towards the boy as her first attack was fended off with his antlers. As her paw was shoved out of the way his teeth clashed with her own. That was far and enough for Venom to retreat and make another attempt.

The yearling Klein aimed to make a quick hop to her right, hopefully taking Incendio off guard once more. This time she’d feint an attack with her right paw to his face to get his attention in that direction before trying to dart into what she hoped to be an exposed left side of his neck.

Teeth clashed with teeth, and he had to admit, that felt weird and a little painful. But his opponent quickly retreated which gave him time to find his feet and prepare for another assault. If he were to guess, she had more fighting experience than he did. His mother had been depressed since his father left, so he'd been doing what he could on his own without much success.

He couldn't think about that stuff now though. He just had to try his best and keep his head the best he could.

As Venom hopped to her right, his sapphire gaze kept her in his sight but he also didn't want to just stand there and wait for her to try and slap him around again, so he charged towards her just before her right paw shot towards his face...or so he thought. He flinched again, leaving his left side exposed for a moment but it was enough time for her to get a grip. Growling with the pain, he sought to twist his head towards her to try and dislodge her with his antlers while also striving to bite her closest leg. He could feel his muscles straining as he tried this, but...no pain, no gain, right?
