It had taken Iolaire quite some time to acquire her wedding gift for her new husband, but she had eventually managed. She had a run in with a pregnant wolverine some time past and, after much conversation and bartering, she came away months later with a young, male wolverine. She had promised the mother that the boy would be well cared for. He would learn and be kept safe. Iolaire had delivered furs and meat to the wolverine woman and also promised that the boy could visit. Iolaire had told Roan to meet her on the plain the following day at a certain time. She had been gone through the night, collecting the youngling and bringing him back to the Armada. During her travels, she had taught the boy what his position would be and what would be expected of him. He was surprisingly well taught and spoke rather well for a non-wolf. As she waited for Roan, Io lay upon one of the large platforms. The wolverine boy was curled up beside her. "Speech"

Not spending the night with his wife was uncomfortable to say the least, he wasn’t particularly excited about Iolaire’s plan but he wasn’t going to argue with her. If she had a plan he would follow whatever instruction she gave him. No matter how much he missed her at his side. Sleep was rough, and he was eager to get to their meeting place the day after. He hadn’t wanted to appear too early, in case she was working up until the moment they met. When forest green eyes fell upon her elegant form a grin spread over his maw. He only had eyes for her, and for a long moment didn’t see the cub beside her.

Roan approached swiftly, only catching sight of the young animal as he closed the distance to give her a reunion kiss. He paused mid fish lips, eyes widening as he realized it was a very young wolverine. ”What is this?” He questioned her lightly, ears perked and head tilting lightly in curiosity. She wasn’t injured, so how on earth had she gotten hold of a baby wolverine?

Soon, the approaching form of Roan came into view and Iolaire's face was alight with joy. She shot him the smile that she only shared with him and, when he stopped with lips extended, she kissed them. It didn't matter if he was mid-kiss and his expression was that of shock. She was kissing him. The situation did bring a laugh from her and she bumped his chin lightly with the tip of her nose. "This, darling, is Guff. Your new companion." She grinned, wondering just how her big man would take to having a companion with him all the time. The cub woke, rubbing sleep from its eyes before sitting up and blinking up at Roan. "I assured his mother that we would take very good care of him. And don't be surprised if she comes to visit." Guff came boldly out from beside Iolaire to sniff at Roan's nose. "He speaks a great deal of wolf and is quick as a whip. He can't wait to learn new things." She grinned again. "We had loads of time to talk on the way back. He was very fascinated in Ila and couldn't understand why we don't eat her." Io snorted softly and settled back, watching the two boys interact. "Speech"

Even if he was frozen in his sudden confusion Iolaire didn’t hesitate to complete their kiss. He swooned silently, giving her a loving grin before she laughed and explained herself. The little guy was called Guff, Roan wasn’t sure about the name but who was he to criticize wolverine culture? ”Companion, huh?” Like Bast, or Enki, or Resin’s jackals. He’d have another being on his side in battle. The little guy was pretty cute with his little red eyes and tough appearance.

Inviting wolverine’s into the pack? Roan might not have thought it a good idea to begin with, but if his little wife proposed it he knew he could trust her judgement. Little Guff looked up at him with obvious intelligence, though he was quiet to begin with. Roan approached slowly and the two closed the distance between each other as Guff reached up to touch their noses together.

Roan couldn’t help the grin that enveloped his features, suddenly infatuated with the young creature. ”He’s great, my love.” The silver marked warrior praised his gift as he looked back to his dainty wife. This time his focus was wholly on her when he kissed her lovingly.

Io smiled as the pair interacted. She hoped that they would bond well and would do each other justice. The mother wolverine had seen it as a big honor to have her son go out and learn the world. By spring, Guff would be large enough to travel well with them as they made their journey. He would definitely see the world then.

Roan leaned in to kiss her and of course she wouldn't deny him. The little woman returned the kiss then slid her muzzle along his. They were wed now. Not much had really changed, but the act had deepened the bond between them. It had solidified the fact that they forever belonged to one another. It was a big commitment, and in the spring, they would make a journey in the hopes of creating an even bigger commitment.

The massive silver warrior enjoyed the simple kiss between them as he tried to get used to the new scenario between them. They had shifted into marriage rather well, not that much was different besides the vows they told one another. He committed himself to her, but there had been no other path. She’d saved him from certain death and revived him from a life of misery and guilt. He still missed his sister desperately, and wished every day he had been able to do better for her, but the past was in the past. He could do no more for her than honor the memories of her within himself.

Soon the two of them would continue on their journey to the next stage in life. The two of them both wanted to make a family together, though Roan had no desire to pressure his wife with her condition he was also eager to help her through the difficult times ahead. Who knew if they would even be able to find her a cure. No matter the difficulties he would stand by his woman, Roan wouldn’t leave her side and he’d hold her up when she needed lifted just as she had done for him.
