She padded slowly through the Estuary, listening to the sounds of winter-life around her as she placed each paw lightly and silently, tail level with her spine to keep the trailing hair from the ground and undergrowth. On occasion, she ventured beyond Valhalla’s walls to scout further afield, though these days she stayed within howling distance, and always left word with someone when she left, knowing they’d pass it on.

The exertion was good for her, though she made sure not to push herself too hard. It was her first time, and she didn’t want to endanger the small lives that had yet to see the world for the first times. At a glance there was no mistaking her condition now, and she marveled at how much her figure had changed over the course of the gestation.

Though she remained alert, she couldn’t help the subtle daydreaming about seeing them for the first time, wondering what they would look like, and what her and Red would have created.

Loshir kept nearby, icy eyes always moving, ever watchful. Dele was at home, not being made for the winter months and much happier to remain within the warm confines of the caves.
