Many months and years of scouring the continents, Viper had lost sight of why she even traveled so much. It was almost like an itch at her throat, a hidden anxiety not to stay in one place for too long at a time. Few wolves came across her during her endeavors, and for the most part she avoided them. The feeling of loneliness was non-existent in her book, and she could live like this for the rest of her life.

Tiny paws trekked the cliff sides following an eager nose. The scent was familiar, sent to the back of her mind through a quick sneeze and a shake of her head. She didn't want to remember the scent she followed, and she would try to keep it that way. She would stop by a wide, flat stretch on the cliff trail, taking a seat to observe her surroundings below. She could see the many of different prey to the horizon, even their movements through the forests, and she couldn't help but feel a little bummed that she had come to the wrong place for some fun.

Askan once again found himself at the falls, this time scaling the cliff side trails instead of remaining on the ground below. The waterfall had long since melted since he'd seen it last and was now a deafening rush of water that had Askan pinning his ears to his skull. Having been engulfed in a snowstorm he hadn't seen much of the scenery, but now that he could get a good view of the place he decided that it was nice enough. Familiar but not too close to home.

He climbed higher and higher, the going slow as he took care to mind his steps and steer clear of the edge. Sure, he'd never been a patient man but he didn't feel like plunging to his death either. As he neared the top Askan enjoyed the achey throb in his legs, it'd been a while since he'd really pushed himself and his limbs were telling him as much. The trail soon came to an end, branching off beside the river but going no higher. He glanced upwards at the peak, a little frustrated that this was as far as he was going to get. He supposed he could try and go off road, but having grown up in the mountains he knew a lost cause when he saw one. Besides, from the looks of it even a goat would struggle to climb any higher and he'd seen them stand on near horizontal surfaces.

With a frustrated huff he followed the river instead, trotting along as it carved a path through the stone to the cliff side. It was then he noticed a figure in the middle of the path, sitting squarely in his way. Not that he could blame them, the view from up there was absolutely breath taking. But still, on principle alone it was annoying.

"Could you move?" He asked, not too kindly.

A quiet sound of paws on the stone surface, Viper wouldn't even show interest in the approaching creature, just keeping her eyes down on the moving prey far out and below her. She was hardly scared of other wolves, regardless of her past imprisonment by her grandfather in Ruina. Even as the wolf came beside her, she would remain in her place without even the twitch of her tail. However, the slightly larger man dared to speak out to her, and this, including his tone, would catch her attention.

Her head switched instantly to face him, her rump still comfortable in her curled tail. "Ew, who are you? King of the Rock?" Daggerous eyes stung towards him though the smirk on her face was a bit sarcastic. Viper cared little what others thought of her or what her actions could conclude. It mattered not who was standing before her as she saw everyone as equals to her own kind of tyranny.

"Oh, boo hoo. Guess you'll haf ta make me." She raised her chin high as if she felt empowered. Through her slightly squinted eyes her pupil peered to the brute who stood at her left side. Still a large, sarcastic grin, or maybe it was near challenging as if she didn't have to do what ever he said. She didn't know him after all. Though she usually was just rather mean for no reason.

Askan's eyes narrowed at the sight of her, like she was a repulsive insect squirming in his path. Her words were petty, juvenile, and for a brief moment Askan felt a flash of fear when he realised that they might be cut from the same cloth. That other's perceived him to be equally as bratty. But of course not, his comebacks were not nearly as weak, whilst hers were the verbal equivalent of sticking her tongue out at him. It was baffling almost, that she spat the words with such venom but they were about as effective as fish flopping about on dry land.

"Wow. Did you hurt yourself coming up with that?" He moved forward, closer, not heeding her seemingly idle threats. "Try again, you can do better than that, surely."

It was rare that he'd ever invite anyone to insult him again but her first attempt had rang so hollow it seemed as though it was more of an insult to point that out than to actually bite back in turn. Askan wasn't hankering for a fight and to his surprise his hackles weren't raised, not even twitching. Was this how other's felt when he got all pissy and insulted?

But then his lips pressed into a thin, serious line as she raised her chin in defiance. Like that was a wise thing to do. It wasn't as if he'd been entirely unreasonable, a little harsh yes but was she so eager to cling onto her pride that she'd deny him a simple request? It seemed so.

"If you're really so eager to try your paw at flying then I'd be more than willing to help you." He gestured to the edge with a sharp flick of his snout.

It was a bluff, well concealed behind his blazing glare and tight frown.

As the young brute was less than insulted by Viper's words, so was the same on her part. He mocking her brawl with his own more sophisticated response had meant nothing to her. Though she had to admit, she could see the small resemblance of the pair as he spat back at her in his own tone. Most wolves would run or apologize, or try to find their way around her confrontation. But instead he moved forward into her, not taking her seriously which was a good call on his part because mostly she wasn't. She felt no pressure as he came closer to her, and still cared not if he would even lay a paw on her. Her need for personal space was non-existent as if she were still a pup running around and bumping into everything.

His nose pointed down the cliff side, as hers followed through her legs to see the drop but she would look back at him with a roll of her eyes. Like that was terrifying. Little did he know that she grew up here and this was her climb down to the start of her life at a mere 6 months old. Granted she was much tinier, but she felt no different with her grown body and it felt natural for her to sit on the cliff's edge.

Regardless if the male still continued to push on past her or not, she would swivel on her hind end to where their chests lined up to make it as best she could where he could not pass. Her weight all in her rump where her front legs were nearly floating on her own back paws. Her back right leg would catch on the slope but she would pull it back quickly without a fret, her eyes seemed focused on his face with still that teethy smirk that had pretty much stayed with her this whole short encounter. "Woah, woah, not even trying?" Whether the brute thought she was serious, she wasn't. He could have probably pushed her down easily if he wanted to. Though she was unafraid of the long fall off the side, she knew better than to start a brawl on a cliff's edge.

Askan could see that she was just being a bitch for the sake of it. Fine, whatever, but he wasn't going to let her dictate to him what he could and couldn't do. If he wanted to reach the end of the path than he would, it was nothing more than an irrefutable fact to him. Did she not understand that he wouldn't let her get in his way? That she was a minor road bump in the grand scheme of things? Askan rolled his eyes so hard they hurt.

He watched her for a moment, watching how she planted herself so that he wouldn't be able to get around her no matter what path her took. He was tempted-somewhat- to grab her by the tail and haul her out of the way, but again that would have likely led to an altercation which seemed frankly unnecessary. Askan wasn't no pussy, he'd fight if he came down to it, but really did he want to stoop to her level? He'd fallen for bait more times than he cared to count but for once, just this once, he didn't care to. Maybe the trek had done him some good, knocked some sense into that dense head of his.

"Fine, have it your way." He said with a shrug.

If she wouldn't let him go around then he'd go over. Not taking any care to not step on her limbs or more squishy parts, Askan stepped on over her one paw at a time.

His words and pressure still did nothing to her demeanor. As he came closer to her she would begin to rise on her back paws with her weight still dead in her rump. She would barely notice as she started to tip backwards until her balance became loose and soon she was looking up at a cloudy sky. She would be lost in her surrounds as she saw the clouds, the tops of the trees, and then the stone surface in that order as the top of her head made contact with the ground. Though her cheeky smirk had left her maw, there was still no fear found on her expression that she would plummet off the cliff side. Not even a jump in her heart.

As her stomach came to the floor, her paws tipped to try and catch the slick surface and luckily she didn't slide far down the stone path before becoming still. Her eyes would look up not knowing what to expect. Had the male tried to leap over her, he could have been landing just on top of her. Had he just tried to push into her to get by she'd be looking nothing more than a fool. But that didn't bother her one bit, she actually found it a little funny that she nearly tumbled to her death, and regardless of what the brute was doing now she couldn't help but start to laugh.
