With him being back on his feet for a while now, it was long time he sought out a spar on the field. He needed to make up for the time lost while he was injured. Lia’s visit had done him good, more than he realized. It compounded upon the joy of just being mobile and whole. It had been a week or so since Lia’s visit, and the limp had faded to nothing, leaving a smooth, easy trot behind.
He didn’t expect to win any spars with ease, certainly not, but he was at least confident that he would be able to put up a damn good fight.
He was fully armored – as he always was when not home, barring a few times – the bear claws of his bracers clicking lightly on the occasional stone, leather armor rustling softly in the way leather does. He ranged around the battlefield, a place that could have been beautiful and in some ways was, were it not for the signs of skirmishes and fights here and there. Eventually he picked out a good spot with decent footing, though there were several spots where there were natural obstacles if he or whomever his opponent might be weren’t paying attention to their footing.
Finally, he cast his muzzle to the sky and sang for a sparring partner, tone light and not demanding. He let his muzzle drop, eyes scanning the field around him to see what might come. Chrystal circled above him, and it was her soft screech that would alert him to an approach.
