08-01-2020, 05:01 PM (This post was last modified: 08-03-2020, 12:17 PM by Aurielle.)

Aurielle is not alone when Player Characters arrive. There are about ... 75-100 NPC nomad wolves, yurts, tents, pups running around. There are musical instruments in the background, singing voices being warmed up (Mostly Irish Folk type tunes for now. Played by primates/etc. Typical festival/fair atmosphere. Enjoy loves!

Aurielle Adravendi

It was a beautiful evening, stars just beginning to stir in the sky. Though guests had yet to arrive, the camp around the glowing white woman bustled with the chatter and excitement of the Nomads, and faint threads of song and music floated on the breeze, instruments, and voices tuning up, warming up, the dull, driving thrum of deep-voiced drums. Occasionally a thread of true song filtered through, pups joining in with a favorite song.

A great bonfire was set up, ready for the torch to be cast, the wood doused with rendered fat and oil, dusted with powders and minerals the Nomads assured her would create spectacular colors in the flames.

The children had come already, tucked away in one of the yurts, and being groomed and primped. Aurielle herself wore the hair combs Red had given her, tucking the glowing strands of her mane back behind and under her ears. Braids held beads and the occasional iridescent white feather in her long tail hair and mane, and she was pristine, bathed and brushed out to her full glory.

As she passed through the spread camp, heading to the platform, she paused now and then to make small talk with the Nomads, catching up with some she’d not seen since last Autumn, others who were new to the Chapters that had attended and loaned their help setting up the festival grounds and activities. A stampede of pups halted her progress briefly, and she had little doubt her own children would be among them, charging through the festival with abandon, safe and watched over by the many eyes of the Nomads, as well as the guests that could be trusted.

The official invitations had been sent out, spread by word of mouth and missive, and soon, the guests would begin arriving. Much of the activities planned would have been explained, from the fights to the races, to the trading fair, and beyond.

Finally, she mounted the platform, her form standing out like a living figure of moonlight as she tipped her head back and sang the opening of the Spring Festival to life, voice fluting high and melodious into the flat grassland, inviting all to come and enjoy themselves, challenge themselves, and make new friendships, reaffirm old ones.

There would be feasting and revelry, quiet moments of relaxation, soaring music and dance. She hoped that it would be a festival the world remembered fondly for years to come.

Walk ---- "Speak" ---- "Labhair an Sean-Teanga." ---- "Hear" ---- Think

At first glance, Aurielle's coat is pure white.. Her fur has an iridescent quality (like moonstones) where the fur shimmers different colors under various angles of light: in this case, the colors shown by rainbow moonstones. Not one hair on her hide is a solid unnatural color, but, ya know, it's really hard to convey that in still art :P
Aurielle's English is heavily laden with an Irish, Swedish mixed accent.
Her family is allowed to crash all her threads, Private and Open.
As of Autumn Year 14, Aurielle glows with a bright blue-white bio-luminescence in her fur, and bears a marking over her left eye - see profile and reference.

He was looking forward to the festival’s opening. Seeing who would come, and enjoying the festivities between shifts at home guarding the pack. As Aurielle’s call sand over the camp, Cairo veered and trotted toward the platform, grinning at the occasional Nomad he passed until he came to sit at the base of the platform, watching the gathering evening shadows, tail sweeping the grass behind him, trademark grin on his features.

He’d worn his dress armor for the occasion, a recent finished project. Dyed black leather, embossed with gold painted knotwork and swirls, and a rich emerald silky material, this time traded from the Nomads for some of Paladin’s best perfumes. It was lighter than his working armor, slightly high-necked and draping at one side in neatly pleated folds. His necklace was out in full view, resting against the leather on his chest. Bracers similar to his usual set, but minus the claws, encased his forelimbs from mid-leg to the wrists, with the matching knotwork and swirls decorating the black-dyed leather.

He was groomed to immaculate detail, and had taken some care not to get too ruffled while he’d been playing with the pups, both Nomad and Aurielle’s. He flicked a grin up at the glowing Spirit, eyes bright. Excitement was only the beginning.

Eir approached with her cold expression, not real interest could be seen in those cyan eyes. But within that cold mask, her curious nature pushed her forward to the festival she herd of.She wasnt sure what she was going to do there, but for now she was going to check what it would offer.

Meeting new wolves wasnt a bad idea, but she was sure she wasnt going to seek actively. She would let others do the first move, she wasnt one to break the ice.It was hard for her, sometimes she justs didnt know what to say. Her social skills were pretty much poor and sometimes she preferred to just keep her thoughts to herself unless of course she was required to speak.

And there she arrived to see a lot of stuff she found interesting.Music adorned the air and there in silence she took a seat taking her distance.

Hela felt a festival could help her forget about her crushing defeat in the raid. She didnt want to speak about it ,she didnt want to remember such a bad day.And thus with her fake innocent gaze made her way to the Dancefloor without thinking on doing special interactions with those she may find, she just didnt have the desire to.And there she approached spotting many individuals, all ones she didnt know and didnt care to. Camly she approached the place and slowly she sat down with a bored expression hopping this wasnt going to be a waste of time.

She looked at the long haired woman without muse and the other the same.

Admittedly, when Cairo had told him about Valhalla's upcoming festival he had been a bit hesitant to come. He hadn't been around a large amount of wolves in a very, very long time - years if he was being honest - and if this was actually as big as Cairo made it out to be then it seemed like the kind of thing he wouldn't necessarily fit in with. He'd put all this effort in to putting some distance between himself and his family so perhaps he could begin to learn who he was without them, but somehow he continued to find himself in the path of Adravendi wolves. Coming here was certainly going to end up putting him in contact with even more of them and somehow that ended up being the thing that convinced him to come. As much as he wanted to be his own man, he still felt his most comfortable around his relatives so this seemed like a chance he couldn't pass up.

He had tried to clean himself up the best he could, but when he arrived and saw how everything was done to the nines he suddenly felt like a dirty bull in a china shop. Carefully moving among the tents and seemingly endless sea of wolves, he made his way toward the call that went out in the middle of it all. It wasn't until he spotted Cairo that he began to relax a bit. At least there was one familiar face. When he saw how intricately dressed his cousin was he grinned a little and gave his head a small shake. There wasn't a chance in hell that he was going to be able to keep up with all these fancy things and frills. He made his peace with it all and settled on his haunches somewhere among the crowd to wait for the festivities to begin.

Prior to her rising to the position of alpha, Zee had loved festival and fairs and all things fun. Now that she felt responsibility it had seemed she grew years over seasons, and her attending of Valhalla's celebration was more out of necessity then it was to let loose and enjoy herself. Her son had begged her to be allowed to attend, something that was rare from Azure. He openly detested Aurielle's pack, but when confronted had sworn he was not going to cause a ruckus. She and Sirius had allowed it only because of their newest member and the relationship the two were developing.

Zee delivered to her son a meaningful, stern look as they walked towards the glowing alpha. Once a polite distance away, she dipped her head in greeting and smiled. "Hello, Aurielle. Thank you for having us."

"Speech"

Sirius as her husband may crash any of Zee's threads.

Zee has a rough scaled bush viper companion as well as a toucan, who unless otherwise stated can assume to not be present.
During combat, Zee wears a wrapping of thorns around her kudu horns.

The festival had been something that had been lingering in passing conversations around their family den for a while now, but now it was finally happening. He was excited and curious about the whole thing and really didn't know what to expect out of it. Even though he had heard bits and pieces of the planning here and there, this was still far bigger than he had anticipated and he was honestly impressed. He walked through the tents and crazy ruckus of it all with an amazing expression and a wide, amused grin. It was all certainly something to see if nothing else! He walked slowly alongside his mother who had surprised him when she had insisted on coming along as well. Ever since their trip up to see Acere she had seemed to have so much more spring to her step and far more spirit than he had seen in her for a long time. He looked down at her, watching how she looked around at everything and smiled. It made him happy to see her up and moving around again. She was even wearing her necklace more often and if he didn't know any better he would think she was back to how he remembered her when he was a pup.

Aurielle's call made his ears perk and they began to make their way down to where she had called from. He spotted his buddy Cairo when they got closer and he blinked with surprise at the intricate, flashy outfit his friend was wearing. Considering he didn't even have his mother's necklace or his usual bracers on today he felt incredibly underdressed. He had at least taken the time to groom properly before he came, but that was about it. He lead the way to sit next to Cairo, nudging his best friend's shoulder with a playful grin. "What's all this then?" he questioned with a chuckle, motioning with his paw to the regalia that was draped over Cai's dappled form. "Is there a best dressed award you're going for or something?"

It had been quite a while since she had gone though all the extra effort to clean herself up and make sure that her pale coat was neatly laying against her form and her prized necklace was resting against her chest. For the most part these days she gave it to Nolan to wear. She had intended for him to get it after she passed, but she realized that she would rather be the one to give it to him herself and she quite liked seeing him wearing it around the pack. It was a little piece of herself for him to keep. However, he had insisted she wear it tonight before they left for the festival - the same way he had before they reached Acere's pack. As she walked through the festival along side her son she felt the loveliest and most well she had felt in a very long time.

She followed Nolan's lead down into the crowd as they all gathered to listen to Aurielle, settling on her haunches with a sigh. Even though this was one of the better days for her, she still tired easily. The walk from the plains to here had felt like a long one, but it was still worth it in the end to see this massive festival that Aurielle had put together. She glanced toward Nolan when he began to tease Cairo for the elaborate armor he was wearing and she was quick to nudge Nolan's shoulder and give him a scolding look, though she couldn't keep the slight smile off her lips. She peeked around Nolan's form to look at Cairo, giving him a smile and telling him, "You look lovely, Cairo. Don't listen to this cheeky boy."

Azure had to beg his parents to allow him to attend the Valhalla festival as they - understandably - expected him to want to be there to only cause trouble. He'd made his disdain for the lamp post alpha's pack clear enough already, and had he not had Hana to think about he'd not been caught dead at this celebration. There were all together too many wolves around, dozens upon dozens of them packed into a few adjacent territories. It was far more crowded then Armada felt, and even at home he sometimes felt that they were getting encumbered by more and more wolves.

His mother approached the alpha in question and Azure turned his head away. For Hana's benefit he would be diplomatic and respectful, though that didn't mean he needed to grovel at the woman's feet. Whatever the adults would discuss he didn't care to listen in on, he was here to find some shit to buy for his friend and that was it. He'd borrowed one of the Armada's carts to haul his goods and had filled it with all the random crap he could find. Baubles and hides and metal and meat, anything he thought might be worth trading. The last thing he wanted was to find something Hana wanted and be unable to buy it for her.

Thankfully although he was still young Azure was growing fast, dragging the cart behind him was hardly an issue physically. His overblown ego however wouldn't let him forget how much of a pack mule he must look and he was quick to try and pawn it off. "We'll be around. Can you watch the cart for me mom?" He asked, catching his mother's meaningful stare and nod of confirmation before placing a paw gently upon Hanako's leg to lead her away.

Both of Azure's ears have notches and tears.
Az has a scar across his right eye, a mirror image of his natural born marking.
Azure has saber fangs, bone spurs on his elbows and knees, and the paws/forelimbs of a bear.
Not all of these features are always reflected in his art.

Azure's companions are a very big bat and a young clouded leopard, unless otherwise stated assume they're not with him.

Samhain 2022The Ooze ParticipantThe Ooze - Variation 3
08-04-2020, 03:21 PM

He’d been pinned down along with his siblings and groomed, bathed, brushed and preened to a high gloss shine. By the time his grandfather and some of the Nomad ladies were done with him, Ardyn looked every bit the young prince he was. He’d been admonished – thankfully along with all the rest of his sibs – to stay clean until the opening was finished.

Now he walked beside his grandsire in a careful imitation of the easy dignity the crimson man walked in, though without the subtle hop Regulus bore, trying his best to look… well… royal?

His ink black, shimmering coat glowed with each movement, each breath, each flick of the ear as he looked around when they reached the platform, his eyes lighting as he spotted his mother and his tail transformed into a blurred torch.

For a few beats, his glowing mother was the only thing in the world, before he was gently nudged by his grandfather and his attention was brought to the guests, a smile on his features as he nodded to the strangers. Where was Da? Still getting his own deep clean?

Regulus gave in to the glances Ardyn cast up to his mother and nudged the boy onto his head, lifting him to the platform. Ardyn grasped his grandfather’s muzzle in a hand-like paw and smooched his cheek before moving to sit with his mother, getting a good view now of the coming guests. “There’s so many…”

The lady with horns, and the boy with the spurs, long teeth and strange forelegs were hardly given a glance more than it took to grin at them. After all, with his family, odd mutations was a given.

While his initial instinct was to tuck himself behind his mother’s foreleg at the sight of the many strangers, he made himself step a bit ahead of her to get a better look. Maybe there’d be some pups to play with around his and his siblings’ ages.

Walk ---- "Speak" ---- "Labhair an Sean-Teanga." ---- "Hear" ---- Think

Ardyn's family (Red, Aurielle, Siblings, Valhalla) are allowed to crash threads, regardless of private tags.

Ardyn at first glance is as black as can be imagined with a raven sheen.

Closer inspection proves that he shimmers in fire tones in every hair on his hide right down to his lashes.

More obviously, he glows like a bed of coals and flames with every movement and brush of fur. His tail is usually wagging, so blazes like a torch.

His adult teeth are in and his saber canines have grown to their full length (see profile). His mane and tail hair have grown to full length, as well as being lightweight and easily buffeted by breezes.

A look at his front paws will give the impression of hands, with his dew claw dropped low and lengthened into a functioning thumb, and his toes elongated into fingers. He has retractable, solid black cat-like claws on every paw.

Ardyn has developed a glowing mast of intricate markings in fire and ice colors over his face, symmetrical over the last seasons of Year 17 (see profile for details). During hunts or raids/sieges, he will smudge them out with black soot to cover the glow, otherwise, they are bright enough to note at first direct glance at his face. Not all his artwork currently portrays the mask markings.

He is also often bedecked in beads, small bells, feathers in blues, ribbons and braids thanks to the Ooze Event of Halloween 2021, and the Coathanger item that he got. The accessories generally are seen most in his mane and tail hair. He removes the brighter items and bells for hunts or battle.

The sights, scents and sounds almost overwhelmed Hanako's senses as the pair wandered through the crowds. She stuck close to Azure's side, their shoulders brushing with each step as he pulled along the cart. She'd expected a large turn out but she'd never anticipated that the festival would be on such a grand scale, teeming with not only wolves but animals of all different shapes and sizes. For a little while she wondered whether she'd spot any familiar faces, she'd met so many wolves during her travels and it was just so busy so it was certainly possible. But the idea wasn't all that appealing to be honest and she quickly cast it from her mind.

Once Azure dropped off the cart with his mother, the couple were free to go off wherever they pleased. Smiling at his touch, Hanako was about to follow his lead only for her eyes to grow wide at the sight of a stall bursting to the brim with pretty trinkets and baubles, the sort Hanako couldn't resist. Gently nudging his shoulder, Hanako shot Azure her best puppy-dog look. Though she didn't say it aloud her intent was clear, aka: pretty pleeease!

Little did Azure know this would be the start of a long shopping trip.

While he hadn't really expected to find himself near Valhalla's lands again so soon, the promise of a grand festival had caught his attention and made him curious. The chance to visit with Aunt Baine was also not something he was willing to pass up so he had made the trip from the north in hopes that he might be able to partake in the gathering Aurielle had planned. Had he known how absurdly large and crowded it was going to be he might have reconsidered, but since he was already here he figured he might as well stay. It was an awfully long trip to just turnaround and go back empty handed.

The quiet, stoic man took his time wandering through the crowds while his two toned eyes searched for any familiar faces. He of course was expecting to see Nolan and potentially Aunt Baine if she felt up to it. Aurielle of course would be here... One face he hadn't expected to see was the one he saw first. His older sister appeared several feet ahead of him, clearly engrossed in looking at some form of herbs that was set up in one of the many tents. The sight made him smirk and chuckle softly to himself. Of course Daelos was looking into healing supplies... He wasn't surprised in the least. He walked over to her and pulled her attention away from the display with a nudge to her shoulder with the top of his head. "Daelos, it's good to see you."

Before they had time to catch up a howl pulled their attention and they looked up to see Aurielle waiting for everyone to gather - clearly preparing to start this festival in earnest. "We'll have to talk later I suppose," he added before turning to make his way down to the crowd. He lingered toward the farthest edges of the group, sitting where he could easily hear what was going on but still far enough away that he wouldn't feel too closed in with everyone around him.

Valdís had already decided she was getting to old to cart Úlfr around on her back but in some ways it was preferable to his whining about how much his paws hurt. In the end she had to concede that pups didn't usually walk such a distance when they were only a season old. She couldn't wait til summer when the boy could follow Aerndis on hunts, assuming the woman recovered alright from her illness. She heard the crowd and soon saw it. There were scores of wolves already present. As she felt the boy scramble off her back she gave a quick warning. "Stay here for the opening ceremony. I don't want you to leave my sight with this many wolves around ok?" While she could trust Jynette to keep an eye on him she still felt better having the boy in her line of vision.

Valdís' back was too uncomfortable to fall asleep on but the steady swaying of her body as she walked quickly lulled Úlfr into a restful state. He was too tired to talk or do much and so he just let his mind wander as he watched the wind move through the trees, pushing the clouds across the sky. Soon the trees started to disappear and they arrived at a flat plain. His head jerked up at all the noise and commotion.

Úlfr's eyes widened. He'd never seen so many wolves in one place before! He scrambled off of Val's back and started to take off before she warned him to stay put. He sighed. "Fiiiiine."

Jynn had come to the plains to catch a few rats or rabbits for her breakfast when she heard the commotion. Music and the low roar of numerous voices caught her curiosity. Following the sound to its source she came upon a large festival. "I wonder what they're celebrating?" She glanced to Tahmores who was already heading right for the crowd. "Hey, wait up!" She scrambled after the smaller wolf towards the crowd.

Well, there were so many wolves here of so many varying scents she figured it wouldn't hurt to stick around and enjoy the festival herself.

Skælingr followed the nomads, his wife not far behind. There was so much hinging on this journey, this new beginning. The festival would be an excellent opportunity to get a feel for the packs of this strange new land and perhaps they might find a home here. Skæ slowly came to a stop on the outskirts of the crowd, looking for a good place to set up shop. He had his travois strapped to his body, full of various items from his hunting and trapping. Furs, skulls, fangs, and even a few live animals.

He turned to Ragna as they moved in among the nomads. "Here looks like a good spot." Now he'd need to slip out of the travois. His companions had helped him into the travois as his wife's companions had helped her but it would be some time before the creatures would be joining them. Ah well, he could make do. Unstrapping himself he went about setting up shop.

Ragna trailed after her husband, her own travois secured across her chest and back. Unlike her husband she carried items related to her skills in healing. Various dried herbs and teas as well as a few ointments. Dried flowers preserved in resin had no healing properties but she was rather fond of the idea of preserving their beauty for following years. She had a few gemstones and and shells she hoped to trade for more useful items like large pelts to line a den or perhaps some sort of tent. She'd never made such a thing but these lands seemed to be full of all sorts of interesting things.

She nodded to her husband and started setting up her own space as she waited for the festival to officially start.

Dunkan saw this a waste of time,a waste of energy but he wanted to get a better knowledge over the other packs as last time he barely knew any names. And when they chose the Raid target he only repeated the name he heard others saying. But well,he hopped today that would change. But of course he had no intentions for making friends,he was just there to gather information and who knows what else he could here.Urasa walked beside him sharing the wolf's unamused expression. They both weren't really entertained but well he hoped he could get something from here. As he walked within the crowd he just gave a quick gaze to those he was seeing. Including Azure and Hanako. But other than them he didnt knows anyone. Though that didnt bother him.

He sat down away from the crowd with his Jaguar lying beside him. "Sorry but we need to learn more,we cant be proud of being ignorant,i promise that once we are done we will take our leave." He assured the feline who just huffed in response.

Shilah pranced along after the rest of the nomads. While they weren't the nomadic tribe he was raised with he had enjoyed traveling with them to this new land. He found their culture fascinating though he was eventually looking to settle in a smaller region in his older age rather than roaming all over the entirety of creation. The music was playing and more and more wolves were arriving. Shilah stretched and laid out his exotic pelts in case there was interest. He set out a kudu pelt for himself to lay on, just enjoying the warm weather and sunshine before the festival got fully underway. Things would only get louder and busier as more and more wolves arrived.

With a lazy sway in his back and a slow stride that suggested at any moment he might flop down and make himself unabashedly comfortable, Jupiter perused the fairgrounds. From one side of his mouth hung a tiny skunk tail that twitched like a cat's. From the other side protruded a paw and a nose. The little beast - Tulip or Azalea or Dandelion; some flower name; he couldn't remember which - had insisted on going with him and since Lefty was an awfully negligent mom no one had saved him from the task by insisting she stay at home. So here he was; proud guardian of a chatty baby skunk who at this very second he suspected of farting in his mouth. "Wah wa tha?" A small 'teehee' from under his lip all but confirmed his suspicions.

He spit her out and sent her rolling. With an annoyed toss of his head, he grumbled "Aw come on!" Jupiter wiped the back of his paw across his tongue before spitting the words, "You nasty! Nasty, you hear me? Bad skunk!" Maybe his grandpa had been right and these little monsters were on par with coyotes. He waved a paw at Tulip, shooing her away. "Go on, before I decide to toss you under the wheels of one of these carts. Shoo!"

NOTE: this character is pretty on the outside but nothing but ugliness and innuendo on the inside. It's best to consider all threads with him rated 'M' regardless of the official tags.
