He was taking on Asla as his official student. As he had once done for Venom, when she had been younger. His daughter had proved to be tenacious about learning to fight, and had gone ahead and sparred with most of his new recruits. Giving practice to herself, and those that needed it. He was, suffice to say, proud of her. He had informed her of their outing the day prior, and would head to the borders as the sunlight began to creep above the horizon. They would be spending a long day out of Armada borders, but he knew Zee would handle things in his absence. Zee, but not Malalia’s help. He pushed aside the pang, and concentrated on the present. Marshal had already gone ahead, scouting for predators ahead of them, so they did not waste time stumbling through the wilderness for something of appropriate size. He would not start her on something small, she had already proved herself as a fighter. He was searching for a big cat, or something of equal size and skill. Ensure that his daughter had a challenge ahead of her. He stopped at the border, and waited for Asla to join him. "Speech"

They were going to hunt predators today. That was fine with Asla. Her father knew that she liked to kill things. She wondered if they were actually going to kill the predator or just mess with it and let it go. Man, she would really like some fancy new pelts for her sleeping space. Or maybe she could find new things to adorn herself with. Now that she was getting older, Aslatiel had the desire to make herself look pretty. The hormones of desire and whatnot hadn't kicked in, but they would soon. It didn't take long at all to arrive at her fathers side. She'd worn her porcupine armor, but not the kudu helmet. She wanted to be able to see everything clearly for this first big battle. Careful not to prick her father with the quills of her armor, she leaned her head against one big leg. "I'm ready, papa. What are we killing?" The tiny girl flashed him a toothy grin, big eyes sparkling mischievously. "Speech" |

The small, fierce warrior joined him at the border shortly after. He grinned across at the girl, admiring the thorns of her porcupine armor with a careful brush of his paw. A good creation, fierce for a small warrior. He kissed her cheek when she leaned against him.
He looked upwards at her question, but Marshal hadn’t returned yet. “Come on,” he said, gently pulling free of her and moving across the border. Immediately, the sweeping trees above plunged him into shade. “Have you visited the soulless forest before?” he enquired as he pulled away from the Armada. “Marshal is scouting for something to kill as we head there.” he explained. Not having an exact answer for her, not until Marshal returned with news on what he might have found.

She followed her father without question, dipping into the cool darkness of the forest. When asked if she'd been here before, Asla gave a little giggle. "Oh yes. I have a little place here." She shrugged a bit as they walked. "It's also where Az realized he was so mad at me. I haven't been back for a while." None of that mattered right now though. All that mattered was the task at hand. They were hunting together and it wasn't just some dumb little deer. They were on to big, mean game. It was everything that she wanted. Her father said that Marshal was searching for some sort of predator, but that didn't stop her from using her nose to try and scent one out anyway. There were various scents but they weren't what she wanted. Fox, but it was too small. Leopard, but it was an old scent. She guessed that there was no choice but to wait for Marshal to let them know if he found something. "Speech" |
