Don't go chasing waterfalls
Lament

He walked over to the lowest of the shallow pools that made up the bulk of the Sunset Falls and stopped to get a long drink. When he lifted his pale gaze again he studied the waterfalls curiously for a moment. He'd been by them so many times in his life, but hadn't really thought about them more than just as a pretty water formation. That was mostly what they were though he decided and couldn't seem to justify a reason why he might want this area to be within his future pack's sphere of influence. It could be a good source of fresh water he supposed, but the mangroves were already pretty well off in that department. With a thoughtful hum he started to walk up the slope, making his way around the falls themselves to the flatter land where the water didn't quite reach. Once he got to the top of the slightly steep hill he went to the top of the falls and looked out over the land that stretched out below it. They weren't the tallest falls in the world, but it still offered a nice elevation and view point all the same. He could look over the tops of the trees that made up the mangroves from here as well as the hot springs that this river fed into. Well, perhaps even if this wasn't actually part of the territory he one day wanted to claim then he could still come here just for the view over everything. Now that the day was slowly fading into early evening the sky was beginning to warm into hues of orange and pink and it was casting a lovely hue over everything. With a soft smile he settled down onto his haunches to enjoy it for a moment. He'd need to go back down to his ladies soon enough, but it was nice to enjoy the peace and quiet of this place for a moment. |
