Don't tell me that

Fitz-Nytalen was the best at so many things, and all because his deity had granted him special powers and insights to complete his mission. It had been Nytalen's blessing on Fitz that had lead him to where a single pronghorn was standing with a calf that would never move. The herd had been unwilling to wait for her to accept the reality of the stillborn babe.
Fitz felt no need to kill the mom but he still had his work cut out for him as the mothr tried to defend her dead babe. Fitz managed to avoid her antler's and got enough nasty rips in her flesh that she finally left the child but only to go a short distance away with that lost expression. Fitz didn't bother waiting to eat and soon heard the sound of the mom finally leaving. for one lone wolf the baby pronghorn would be a nice meal. Nothing free came easy, especially not for those blessed by his dark deity but that didn't mean a few freebies didn't come out before a harsh task ahead. Certainly Fitz had a hard long mission ahead as he struggled to learn how to teach wolves the truth of worshipping his lord.
It would come in time. The meal was making Fitz in a good state of mind. Nytalen had led him to this lucious land after having spent time in barren lands. Other wolves were bound to come here and perhaps those who would be wiser in listening to his beliefs. "Watch over me Nytalen, make me strong so that I might correct those who are flawed, so that they might know you."

A commotion drew the marauder in like a moth to flame. She was a sucker for a kerfuffle. She loped around a stand of scrub brush, the only as far as the eye could see, and was...disappointed by the source of the noise. She'd been hoping for a more impressive fight. Say, one between two predators, maybe. Not a wolf having a standoff with a sorrowful mother pronghorn. While this was the far more likely scenario she was still disappointed. All that hustle for nothing.
Or maybe not. Was that a prayer she heard? As a youngster Valkyrie had heard many such utterances. Usually from the captives being hauled back by raiding parties. She too been known to say a line or two when necessary, but never once had she asked for help correcting the flaws in others. That struck her as strange. Why bother with something like that? Family she could see, but strangers? That seemed like misplaced efforts.
Valkyrie padded closer, her hawkish gaze on the pale man. "That is quite the lofty goal. Some might say presumptuous."

This character has a noticeable Icelandic accent!
Valkyrie also has a female melanistic japanese macaque named Inga. Unless she's mentioned IC it's safe to assume she's not with her master.
It can be assumed that Valkyrie has a bear skull mask hanging from a strap around her neck at all times.

Fitz looked up as the other wolf approached. While he didn’t feel a need to eat anymore it was still his and filling his belly more wouldn’t hurt. Fitz stepped over his kill so that he was in between it and the new wolf. A warning in his gaze and a twitch of his lips at first but then thinking better of it. He wanted to lure her in right?
“My goal is only to fulfill the role my deity Nytalen has set before me. I only ask him for his aid to make sure the path is available to please him. It’s quite a humble request when you consider it that way. Nytalen has chosen to judge wolves who have ignored or forgotten him.” The words were said with the tone of a teacher educating a new student.
Fitz seemed to naturally calm himself as he spoke of Nytalen, clearly his favorite subject, “Wolves have forgotten the one who helped them become, and a number have even done their best to remain weak it seems.” Some wolves had grown so interested in subjects like healing they never even took on education in fighting. Ridiculous. “What of you stranger? Have you heard of Nytalen, and would you label yourself strong? Worship him and you will gain more strength.” Fitz was working at becoming more charismatic as he met new wolves, trying to gauge the best way for his words to strike home.

She took in his warning with a dismissive smirk. How cute. Valkyrie knew the strength of her own gods and it was for that reason when the man launched into what sounded like the beginnings of a lecture her mouth turned downward in a critical and vaguely pitying expression. It had been her experience that those who followed a god that was so insecure s/he needed their followers to convert the masses were usually no better themselves. No, her gods weren't like that. They needed no sleazy salesmen to race ahead of them and convince the world of their power. They convinced unbelievers not purposefully, but as a by-product of their greatness. When they acted their stories spread like wildfire and wolves were led to believe not by sweet words and promises of improvement, but by the truth their own eyes were witness to.
Valkyrie snorted a soft derisive laugh and waved a low, dismissive gesture with her paw which caused the skull hanging down her chest to bounce and rattle. "I have not and I have no interest. Any god who needs a man to tell me about him is no god worth learning about." It was as simple as that. She would learn about this god of his the day he did something worth her notice - and not a moment sooner.
She leveled a saucy, challenging look at him. "None but the weak would take you up on that request. I am strong not because of the help of a god desperate for my attention, but because I willed myself this way." Her gods rewarded those who took care of themselves and their family. Feats were what made a wolf great and that mortal strength, that veneration of respect and honor, that was what endeared mortals to the truly fearsome gods.

At her disdain of his words of his diety Fitz’ ears quickly went back plastered to his skull. His hackles horse up with a threatening tone coming to his voice, “You may or may not be strong, but if it is so then most likely it is from the creations of Nytalen where you found that strength. The earth and the beasts that challenge us are for him. How dare you disdain him.” The sad part is how true it all was in his mind, blindly loyal to all words ever spoken of this imagined deity.
How dare she? The more she spoke the angrier he had become. “My lord is not desperate, simply generous in allowing others opportunity. Take back these words before I rip an apology out of your throat myself.” Fitz braced his feet, tail up even with his body the top part of the tails fur also standing up a bit more.
The grey wolf had been in a good mood, now she had ruined it. She best apologize fast!
