And then she waddled away, waddle, waddle...
Any pack member & Ulric <3
Azariah softly hummed as she began stitching a couple of leather panels together on Ulric's armor, it had taken forever to find something that would even penetrate the skins the right way, but they had found it. Umbra sat up on a branch behind her, acting as sort of a lookout for anyone coming toward them. Azariah didn't want to risk scaring anyone when she herself was startled, so having an eye up high was beneficial to prevent such anxiety. Especially now that she was pregnant! The witch smiled to herself as she felt the tiny bodies of her babies squirm and move about in her belly as she softly hummed to herself and took in the warmth of the sun. Taking care not to stab herself, Azariah pushed a bit of bone through until it popped through on the other side of the leather, then flipped the piece she was working on to pull it through with her teeth. Sewing would be easier with a primate, she had seen wolves with such companions in her travels, and it would be prudent to get one for herself. The current method she used felt crude, and often caused her lips to ache, though she did not mind having the busy work to keep her contented.
Birds chirped in the trees, with Umbra softly trilling on her branch as Azariah worked below, not far from the den she shared with Ulric. There was a thought that she should perhaps do more in regard to her healing practices, but more often than not her feet ached and swelled in the late stages of her pregnancy. Pausing in her work, Azariah's entire body swayed gently with the force of an internal squabble taking place, her dark red eyes widened and she took a breath as the pups shrank the room her lungs resided in. "Whoa, little ones, warrior training should be with your father, not with me." She spoke to the babies in her womb, a laugh in her voice and a twinkle in her eyes. Anyone approaching could see she was positively beaming, even what she suspected were only days away from giving birth.

Much in the same way Resin had been working to complete the den she would share with Tamsyn, Ulric had been doing the same for him and Azariah. He was doing his very best to get it ready in time for their pups to arrive, but he knew he was quickly running out of time. It was going to be any day now and their pups would be here and it was hard to focus on his work when all he wanted to do was spend every waking moment caring for Azariah and making sure that they had everything in place for their family to be. So far he had dug out the den to be large enough for the two of them and what seemed to be a large litter of pups. He had been sure to create more space than was maybe necessary just from the assumption that at least one of the pups might be as large as him and he wanted to make sure that they had space to grow into. He had let Azariah help here and there just with the easier bits of the construction, but once it got to some more heavy lifting he absolutely refused to let her lift a paw. He didn't want anything putting her or their children at risk so he was happy when she picked the project of his armor back up to keep herself busy. He'd set to work finding slender saplings and supple branches to line the walls of the den with and to place a couple in the center of the large chamber as a support for the ceiling of their den. It was a project he had been working on over the last couple weeks since he would go out to find the branches he needed in-between pack duties, but now he was almost done. He was carrying several decently long branches as he trotted back toward the den and he felt fairly certain that it would be enough to finish the walls at long last. He wasn't going to be able to do the clay lining that Resin had done in her den mostly just from a lack of know-how and time, but he had at least packed down the dirt pretty solidly so it was nice and flat for them. There was also a bed of grasses and furs that took up a whole side of the den so that they would all have plenty of room to lay down at might and some shelves that were built into the opposite wall which he made sure to build high enough that nosey pups wouldn't be able to get to until they were old enough to know better. When he arrived with his newest load of branches he found Azariah basking in the sun with the pieces of leather between her paws and as soon as he had the pieces of wood put down he gave her a wide, loving grin. "You're so beautiful," he told her truthfully as he came over to place a kiss on her lips. Ever since she started to show with their pups he couldn't help but think that she was just getting more and more beautiful by the day. There was just something about knowing what she was going through for them and their family that was just so amazing and the fact that she literally had their children growing inside of her left him awe struck. |
Their pups were growing like weeds. It felt like just yesterday that she had given birth to them and now they were toddling around the den and getting into every nook and cranny - even the ones they shouldn't be getting into. They were a pawful and then some, but she loved them so very much. They were beautiful and perfect and she desperately needed a break from them. The thought made her laugh, but when Resin offered to watch them for a moment so that she could go take a walk around the pack lands she was grateful. It gave her a chance to check up on the wolves that she hadn't spoken to in a couple of weeks and get some fresh air so that she could go back to her little fuzz balls with a renewed energy.
As soon as she walked out of the den, Blue climbed down from the tree he typically roosted in and the black lemur climbed onto her back to take his usual seat among her scruff. She smiled a little and walked out toward the rest of the pack's dens. Her companion hadn't gotten to spend as much time with her lately since he didn't seem to enjoy the pups tugging on his tail so whenever she came out into the open he seemed overly enthusiastic to use the chance to ride on her back through the pack's lands.
One wolf in particular that she was curious about just so happened to be outside of the den she shared with her mate when she approached with Ulric himself right in front of her. She happened to walk in on the two love birds sharing a kiss and she gave a playful grin as she cleared her throat to get their attention. "Get a room, you two," she teased, her tail wagging behind her as she grinned and laughed lightly. She had seen a good bit of Ulric as he checked in with Resin from time to time and whenever she stepped out of the den for water or air he was always lingering around working on their den or doing patrols. She had immediately been impressed with the pair and she was glad Resin had offered to mentor him.
"Any day, huh?" she asked Azariah with a smile, noticing how big she had gotten and knowing from her own recent experience with pregnancy what signs to look for. It was kind of amusing to look at her friend and know that she was that big at one point even though it was hard to imagine since she had only really seen herself in wobbly reflections in the surface of the water. As she waited for an answer, she felt her companion pull himself up to look over the top of her head, his little hands resting between her ears as he held himself up there. His blue gaze locked on to the armor project that Azariah was working on and he eyed it curiously.
