ooc: looking for some other pups too spar. 6 months or older but younger than a year!

Áskell joined his father on another journey to the battlefield for more practice. He enjoyed sparring other pups. Adults were still tricky though. He'd tried to ambush his father the day prior and was quickly pinned and forced to surrender. Harbringr had been instructing his son on melee fights so Áskell hoped to find a couple of other pups close to his own age to fight. He found a flat area on the battlefield and called out for multiple opponents. He would fight as many as he could. He looked forward to the chaotic mess of a fight with multiple opponents. He just hoped he wouldn't get completely crushed. He still wanted to make his dad proud.

It had been awhile since Úlfr had been to the battlefield. Now that he was nine months old her was allowed to wander unescorted as long as he didn't go too terribly far. The north proper was outside his limits but he'd be able to go to the Battlefield whenever he wanted. He walked along looking for a good place to settle and call for an opponent when he heard another young male calling out for someone to fight. Perfect! Úlfr bounded in the direction of the call, tail wagging as he spied the six month old pup that was calling for opponents. "Looking for an opponent? Will I do?" They were pretty close in age but he wanted to double check that it was still ok.

Haiku scrambled forward his expression full of excitement as he ‘led’ the way towards the battlefield. His dad was close behind, watching out for his two young puppies but giving them enough space to feel their independence. Haiku was becoming a young man and didn’t want help from anyone, but at night once he got tired was still happy to snuggle up with his parents and siblings. Snuggle bug at night, terror during the day.

Part of the reason Rhyme took the kiddos out right now was to waste some of the energy that built up inside of them, but also to give them some experience. They could only learn so much within Abaven’s borders, best to start to get to know the outside world as soon as possible.

It seemed like they’d picked a perfect time to come, as there was already a group of pups gathered for a bout. Ku’s tail wagged a million miles a minute as he bound forward, ears perked, eyes bright and a grin playing on his features. Ruin was right beside him, her form smaller but just as eager. ”Oh, Wait for us!” He exclaimed as massive puppy paws brought him forward.

Deus was growing older, nearing yearling age and thus definitely needing to work on his skills. Aureus' death had put a damper on his training, though if he was to follow his uncle's path and one day become a Mantle then he'd need to start putting in the effort to learn. His father had offered to take him to the battlefield - his first outing that would provide real battle experience. Already a cluster of pups had gathered and Deus nuzzled past his father's leg affectionately before sprinting forward into the huddle. "Hi! I'm Deus! Can I join in too?" From beneath the brim of his cowboy hat he surveyed the others, deciding that yes - these pups would be a good match for him. "Speech" "Thinking" "You."

Ruin was ready, ready to kick ass and take names! Sure she was easily smallest of the bunch gathered here but so what? That had never stopped her before and it wasn't going to start now. She bounded along sider her brother- which she suspected was Haiku- and wore a sly, cunning smile- the sort that foreboded a storm on the horizon. Her tail wagged in a pale blur as she agreed with her brother's sentiment, they had to let them fight too, to leave them out would be really really unfair! Not that she really thought that would an issue, there were only a pawful of puppies present. She stood beside her brother, like a little shadow as she slapped at the ground with a dark paw. In the corner of her eye she noticed her Da hang back as he settled on his haunches, making sure nothing got too out of hand probably.

"Let's gooooo." She wasn't the patient sort, that much was obvious.

Áskell watched as an older pup answered his call and then another pup and another until there were a total of five pups there. Wow! His tail was wagging rapidly back and forth and he shot a grin at Ruin as he recognized her. "Ok, this is awesome! Free for all!" As soon as the words left his mouth he dove right into action as he ran toward Deus. His ears pinned and his tail tucked as he ran, his fur standing on end. He tried to brush along Deus' left side as he tried to bite the other boy's left knee. He hoped to get a good hold and then… well, to be honest he hadn't really thought ahead. He was so excited to be in a great big puppy battle he was going almost entirely on instinct.

Úlfr was torn between continuing his search for a spar or seeing if all the pups just wanted to hang out and explore or something. He'd never been around this many wolves his own age ever. Having been sole survivor of his litter he hadn't even grown up with siblings. It was almost overwhelming. He didn't have much time to ponder this however for the pup that had called for challengers started the fight off. Úlfr quickly set his defenses, paying special attention to keeping his ears pinned and his tail tucked. In a group his crazy he knew his rear was at risk.

He bounded toward Haiku seeking to throw his chest into the front of the boys left shoulder, his head twisting to the side as he sought to bite the left side of the boy's face and get a grip. He could figure out what to do after if he was successful.

And it was on. Ruin kicked off into a dash, dancing to the side as a smirk spread across her lips, delighting in the chaos that unfolded before her. Needless to say she intended to get into the thick of it but for now she eyed up her options, wondering who's ankle looked the best to chomp. She looked from one pup to the next, only to notice the large Fireside boy bounding towards her brother. Had she been a good and loving sister she might have tried to intercept him, to offer her sibling a helping paw but oh no, this was Ruin and she acted accordingly. If her brother thought she'd make for good back up then clearly he hadn't been paying attention. His loss her gain.

Darting to the side, Ruin took full advantage of Haiku's distraction and made a beeline for his hind legs. She didn't rush in as she knew full well of the danger his fat bottom posed, he'd sat on her before and she didn't want it to happen again. Rather she whipped in dart quick, as though to graze her teeth against his ankle, rather than grab a hold.

Excitement raced through the boy as his bright eyes glanced over the other young pups who were just as eager as him and his sister to get into a brawl. Dual toned tail wagged lightly at his rump as he fell into his defenses just like his dad taught him. He bent his joints and lowered his head, revealing his pearly white teeth as his hackles went up along the ridge of his back.

It seemed almost immediate that Haiku would garner the attention of the second largest pup beyond himself. The boy charged. Haiku readied himself, and honestly hadn’t even noticed Ruin behind him. She was so small and he never expected her to come after him when they could fight together all they wanted back at Abaven. So as he managed to avoid his opponents attack he’d trip over his little sister. And he’d try to make it a controlled descent as he aimed to sit upon her.

The other boy(Ulfr) would get his teeth. Haiku aimed to snap at the pups muzzle, trying to get him to back off as the battle continued.

The brawls started quickly, and he had hardly time to absorb the yelled declaration of 'free for all' before the boy [Askell] was upon him. He was smaller then Deus was, and so as his opponent ran along his side to bite at his knee, Deus' only thought was to smush him. He lifted his left foreleg as Askell cleared it, aiming to collapse his elbow upon the other pup's butt with as much upper body strength as he could manage as he felt the teeth bite into his knee. At the same time his muzzle dipped - forgetting the other pups involved - and he attempted to grab hold of Askell's tail for some more control over the smaller wolf at his side. Áskell darted forward, his fangs seizing hold of Deus' left knee. Success! Mostly. Of course, as he ran by he felt the other pups left elbow slam on the top of his hips. It forced his hind end down and caused bruising. Áskell let his legs coil down as he attempted to pull them in closer to himself. As his tail had been tucked the bite missed and he could see now why he'd been taught to do that. Áskell attempted to wrap his arms around Deus' leg so he could try and pull himself closer to the boys leg and maybe out from under his left arm. He also attempted to scrunch his neck back and roll his shoulders forward to help his defenses.

Before Úlfr's attack could collide with Haiku the boy seemed to trip over something, one of the smaller pups but he didn't have time to really look. The boy lunged for his face so Úlfr twisted his head and tried to counter the other boys attack by aiming to snag his lower jaw between his own. He hoped his upper fangs would land on the right side of the boys lower jaw and his bottom fangs on the left side of the boy's lower jaw. All the while he sought to keep his defenses set, including keeping his ears pinned and his tail tucked just in case. With his focus on the larger boy who knew where the smaller girl was now and he had no idea if she might go for him.

Oh no she was not going to be sat on this time! Ruin, if nothing, she was a quick learner and even faster on her paws. Darting aside, Ruin dodged the descending rump with a snort and changed her target. Picking on her brother was fun and all but not really the point, she could fight him whenever she pleased, right now she ought to focus on new prey. And that pale, blondy guy looked like fair game, all distracted and focused on another pup. Easy pickings really, she'd be stupid if she didn't take advantage of how distracted he was.

Skittering close, Ruin was careful to keep out of the line of fire as she narrowed in on her target. It didn't matter if Askell saw her coming, she wasn't aiming for him and if he had half a brain he'd let her get on with it, cause no matter how you looked at it she was doing him. solid, right? Licking her lips, Ruin snaked in to Asmodeus' right hand sight and took a big toothy chomp out of his hind-leg ankle.

He didn’t end up sitting on Ruin, which was kind of a shame but she also seemed to slip past and move to the other boys that were close by sparring. For a moment the whole fight had been two different pairs of two and the Ruin skittering about interrupting both. As Haiku sat back Ulfr kept at him, but the young Destruction offered his quilled muzzle instead, unwilling to let his opponent get any kind of hold on his mouth.

Haiku managed to get to his feet and retreat with a snarl on his puppy features. The boy was so serious and quiet Haiku wasn’t so sure he was having fun anymore. He missed Senryu, he much preferred to fight with his brother than against his sister.
