Another day, another hunt. The rain was torrential, coming down in thick grey sheets as Hattori approached the prairie. Visibility was poor as he squinted across the land, only just making out the hazy shadows in the distance. He then tipped his ears forward, only to think better of it the moment he got an earful of hissing rain. He knew his sense of smell wouldn't serve him any better, if he wanted to press a head with this hunt he'd have to rely on his vision and get closer. Though, if nothing the rain would mask his approach, a sort of silver lining, if he squinted.
His footsteps were loud and squishy as he approached, his talons leaving thick grooves in the mud in his wake. He expected to find some sort of deer but the animal he came across was...different, to say the least. It had a long neck and tall ears, with legs that looked just a little too short for it's body. It turned slowly, having had it's back to him, and regarded him with a lazy look as it continued to chew loudly, like it didn't give two hoots about Hattori's sudden appearance. Well that was different. But that wasn't the end of it, the creature, whatever it was, groaned and then- Hattori's forehead was pelted by something that most certainly wasn't rain.
What? Did it just spit at him???

Aslaug was surprised by the heavy rain as she went through the praise looking for a hunt for her pack and perhaps some training. She was slowly getting more and more experienced on her trade of hunters. And someday she wanted to try a higher position to help the pack more. She wanted to make her pack and those who left proud. She was the only Kvasir left and thus she wanted to honor her blood. As she walked she could barely see far as both the pouring water and the mist the rain produced, she did her best to keep her steps silent, and narrowing her eyes she aimed to have a better look on what was available for hunting. But what she saw was a group of unknown undulated, some she had never seen before, but even more rare was the wolf that stared at one of the creatures, it was...spitted? Slowly she approached. "Need help sir?" |

Hattori stared at the llama with a cold and loathing gaze. He'd never been so openly insulted and he would not let it stand. To make matters worse another wolf made her way onto the scene, her words suggesting that she'd seen everything, but she didn't laugh or mock him, instead she offered a helping paw. One Hattori had no reason to decline. With a rumble he stepped forward and as quick as it had spat at him the llama turned tail and ran, likely spooked by the appearance of a second predator.
"Yes." Was all Harttori said as he kicked off into a sprint, in hot pursuit of the llama.
His sides heaved with each panting breath as he pushed his body forward, his paws squelching against the waterlogged ground as he dashed along, keeping pace but not overtaking the llama. He wouldn't be able to run at this speed for long and there was a chance he'd slip and fall if he wasn't careful but the same could be said for his prey. If he pushed it from the wrong angle and it took too sharp of a turn he was pretty sure they could bring this beast down together.

While she waited for an answer, she took the time to evaluate the situation. She had never seen or heard about a creature that spotted in defense if that could be called that way. Eyes of blue narrowed onto the creature and then moving back to the male who's face reflected clear anger to the offending creature. She couldn't lie, the scene looked quiet funny but she was glad, she was someone who could stop the need to laugh especially in duty hours. She nodded in response to his confirmation. As soon as the larger wolf ran forward she also did, the chaser began doing what she was best at. Winding off prey. She paid attention to the slippery soil and made sure to run closer to the ground to lower her gravity center. Quickly she used her lighter frame to go fast toward the Llama. |

The stranger was quick to cut the creature off, darting in from the side which forced the llama to make a choice. Either it ran straight ahead in the hopes of out pacing it's chasers or twist to the side and make a break for freedom. Hattori had hunted enough too be able to predict most prey and sure enough with a whip of it's neck it bounded off to the side, only for Hattori to ram into it's chest with all of his weight and strength. It's hooves skidded on the mud and wet grace and it skittered, as though running on ice, and it landed so hard the air was knocked right out of it's lungs. Hattori decided, his teeth to it's throat, his talons to the shoulder as he pinned it down and went to make the kill. Served the bastard right.

Both wolves went forward and the young hunter was ready to pounce whenever the Llama did any wrong move for her to exploit. This was part of her training and as always she never missed a chance to be better. She wanted to become what she had dreamed to be since she was a pup back in the family she was born in. She did missed them and Nolan and everything really, she had no siblings anymore or a warm arm to rest under and her trade of hunter became the only thing she could do to distract her and to give her a purpose in her life. The llama turned and the horned wolf soon slamed himself to the llama making it fall. And the kill by his fangs was done. She nodded as she took a seat. |
