Askan had a problem, a big goosey one. He was stumped, at a complete and utter loss at what to do. No matter what he did, for one reason or another, the damned creature insisted on following him around, waddling after him like a fowl shadow. It simply appeared one day, waiting outside of his den one morning and had been a thorn in his side ever since. Needless to say he'd snapped and snarled, attempted to chase it off but....well, geese weren't push overs at the best of times and this one was a monster. A devil in disguise.
And thus he was stuck with an unwelcome companion, an infuriating loud and stinky beast that tried to bite him if he looked at it funny. All the other's had respectable companions, jackals and jaguars but not Askan. When would his suffering end? He huffed a sigh as continued his patrol, moving parallel to the border line with his goose-which he refused to name- waddling close behind, neck outstretched as though it was threatening to nip his tail. He could't even enjoy the peace and quiet, with every waddling step the goose let out a honk, incessant and nagging as though it was doing it just to drive Askan around the bend. It was working, very well in fact. Too well.

What in the hell was that incessant racket? A rhythmic honking echoed through the forested areas around the falls. There was no way that Resin could ignore it as she patrolled the border. The closer she came back to home, the louder the noise became. A little pain began to thump behind her missing eye and her jaw was tight. She needed to find out what the noise was and make it stop. Rounding a natural bend in the treeline, Askan came into view. Brow furrowed, she had just been about to ask him if he knew what the noise was when she saw a winged beast following along behind him. Stopping in her tracks, the giantess watched as the goose followed her small wolf, honking as it moved along. Oh. Ohhoho... She tried so very hard to keep her expression impassive. The earthen wolf moved forward and the waddling avian was right on his tail. Resin bit her lower lip, brown lifting at the center. The sky rat looked as though it was ready to snap onto Askan's tail at any moment and that realization was the last little push that sent her over the edge. The one-eyed woman, usually stoic and business-like, sat right where she stood. Laughter began to bubble up from within her. She couldn't stop it. The complete irritation on Askan's face, the wretched honking of the feathered beast and the fact that it had seemed to attach itself to the man was too much. Lifting one scarred paw, Resin placed it over her muzzle, trying to stifle the laughter that would not be denied. In the end, she just had to laugh and get it out. Only then would she be able to try and compose herself once more. Poor Askan... He'd found himself a goose. "Speech"

Oh really? Could his day get any worse? Askan's ears flattened against and his lips pulled in a tight frown; he was the very epitome of displeasure. He didn't want to turn to face her but it was impossible to ignore her presence when she was cackling away like that, as though his misfortune was the funniest thing she'd seen. Ever. Maybe if the tables were turned he could see the humour in it, after all he wasn't a complete stick in the mud, but given he was on the receiving end all he could do was huff, puff and pout. And complain, a lot. He finally turned, his face wrinkled like a slapped arse, as he took in the sight of Resin, paw over her muzzle like that was doing any good. His tail lashed behind him and the goose extended her neck as she swayed side to side, mimicking him and adding yet another level to the mockery. He shot the goose a seething look, not that it seemed to give two shits. No one on this earth had the power to tell a goose what to do, that much was obvious. So instead he ignored the goose as best he could and shot his stink eye in Resin's direction.
"Oh come off it." He growled, sounding more like a petulant child than a grown man.

In time the laughter died but the amusement on the woman's features did not. "That's a fine goose you've got there." She was just waiting for the creature to hiss or honk. Geese were generally nasty pieces of business. Swans were worse. Tasty though. If it ever became a problem, they could surely eat it. "Where did you happen to come upon such a... lovely specimen?" Had he chosen to get a goose? By the looks of his irritation, he did not at all choose this companion. Who could tell a goose what to do though? The maned fae's lone eye twinkled with amusement, but she cut to business if only to make Askan more comfortable. "I have a task for you." In giving him this task, it showed how much she trusted the grumpy little man. "I've decided to move the pack. With one of our number being killed by predators, I won't risk anyone else. I want you to go ahead of the group and prepare the castle." No, she wasn't sending him there to be a housewife and clean away the cobwebs. If he wanted to though... "Make sure that no one is staying there. Make sure that there are no predators hiding in the dark corners of the place." The corners of her maw tipped up slightly. "Your goose can help you with that." Yeah, so it was still funny. A goose. A god damn goose. "Speech"
