Sweet remembrance
winter prompt intellect
Mine is among the stars, across the universe The winter had soon captured the land, placing its frozen water crystals about in ways that made the world around look enchanting. More so to the young eyes of a hope filled girl wondering what life she would live in the lands that she now found herself placed within moving about as if she was a gentle stream never pushing more than one could take but never staying still. It was a different feeling from when she had been living with the rest of her family a cloud always looming over her head for she feared that she was always going to be a black sheep to her predominantly ebony furred family. Someone that would stand apart but at the same time being dragged back in never being able to fully escape from the grander of the Nightingale name. Yes she was always told that it was fine that she was a gentle soul, one that could offer kindness where there was a bleakness that would ensnare the rest of her mothers clan. But father seemed to implore her shy nature, taking his time out of whatever schedule he held to start splashing about in the body of shallow water that was placed in her mother den crafted by uncle Lupa. ’if it was not for them I wouldn’t even be here now’ she thought as her ears swiveled back. There was unseen love that rested in her mother, for she had allowed her gentle heart to grow, a kindness that would be seen in the girl was seemingly accepted. Or that's what she had never noticed as she tried to keep up with Diaval and Eclipsie but always lost her place along the way. It was with these thoughts that she had come along a new line of thoughts she needed to find a place to escape to one left untouched by others or one where she could be alone to allow thoughts of her past to be forgotten at least just for a day. The winter winds whipped against her face as she thought of any warmer place lurking in the shadows of the new lands she had walked in. With the thought in her mind she allowed her paws to lead her to warmer plains, ones that would offer kind winds that did not bash against her face, harming her eyes as they tried to squint so she could see her way. It was a silent journey, one that kept her mind filled with thoughts of her past the one she needed to push past to become a wolf her mother could be proud of! It was unknown to her that both of her parents thought of her as a little gem, even as she wished to shine as bright as them. It was as she wandered aimlessly that she took notice of many stones that had scattered across the ground in a pattern that would never make any sense to the girl unless she knew why they were leading up to standing stones. Each one that was circled around stood up from the ground, their weight keeping them in place which the girl had found quite odd in nature. But she could not pull away her curious mind, then she noticed the carvings that were notched into each stone, a thing that had brought back her mentor's face in her mind. The kind druid woman who helped teach her many things ”Tavain would know of these markings?! Mother is she by your side or was she one of the ones who had stayed behind?” her words had slipped from her maw in a curious tone that she had not allowed to pass from her leather laced lips since her time back in her natal home. It was along these lines of thought and words that would dance from her mother that she had pulled away from the stones that would overwhelm her small stature. She had a new quest in mind, as each dainty paw had been pulled from the ground in a small manor as not to harm herself on any unseen edges that would jut from the ground in aims of cutting open that pads on her paw’s or placing scraps upon her semi long legs. There were now two quests she had to complete! One was to find this Riva NIghtingale, one that her new found friend Mortis was working to help her find, and the second well it was to find mother to see if Tavain was traveling with her now. Her mentor would know what the runes were, she was a druid, a woman who could possibly make heads or tails from these stones. With renewed excitement she bound off to find the two woman who dominated her young life. |
