The Ooze ParticipantValentines 2020Critical Fail!Trick 2019
01-19-2021, 07:52 AM (This post was last modified: 01-19-2021, 08:17 AM by Poem.)

Poem smiled softly to herself as she padded back to the den she shared with her husband. The news she received earlier still had her floating on air. Reality hadn’t had time to sink in and for now she felt only excitement. Butterflies played in her belly and her enthusiasm covered any feeling of sickness that lingered. The news was special, if not unexpected. They were barely wed and… There was a jump in her step as she slipped into the entrance of the den.

The next step was informing the father, Sparhawk hadn’t specifically mentioned making a family but after being married it was the natural flow of life. Poem had expected more time as newlyweds but she couldn’t admit disappointment. She’d told Theory that perhaps they would have puppies in the spring, but she was a little early.

Sparhawk wasn’t back yet so Poem tidied up the den a little and prepared a small dinner to enjoy over their meal. She put out some mead for her husband, but she had no plan to indulge with the news on her mind. Content beyond any imagining Poem settled down on the soft fur that lined the den and awaited her husband’s return.

Sparhawk had been working on preparing a space for his meadcraft. It wasn't too far from the den that he and Poem shared, but it was far enough that you couldn't see it from the den. He didn't want a bunch of bees close to where they spent their time, so it was smarter to set it apart. Today he had been working in clearing a wide space. It was easier to rid the land of bushes and saplings when it was cold. There was less greenery to deal with. After quite a while of working, the striped man decided that it was time to head home. A short, leisurely lope set him right at his doorstep.

Nosing aside the fur over the mouth of the den, the redwood man slipped inside. A smile instantly formed as his ruby gaze found the item of his affection. His lovely wife waited for him on a pile of furs, laid out like the dessert that she was. Moving forward, Sparhawk wasted no time in pressing his forehead to hers. The food that he smelled could wait, even though he was ravenous from a long day of work.

Placing a lick atop his woman's head, the brute sat. "Moya nevesta," he rumbled softly. He still couldn't get over the fact that they were now married and starting a life together. He had been entirely undeserving until two years ago and now... he thanked all of the gods in the universe that he had mended his wicked ways.

.Poem didn’t have to wait for very long for Sparhawk to come home, it was about the time they enjoyed their evening meal after working all day at their respective responsibilities. The young Destruction woman grinned as he appeared and her mind immediately returned to the occupier of her thoughts. She was pregnant! With his children! They were going to be parents, and she could barely believe the fact. She knew one day she wanted her own family but hadn’t expected something like this so soon after they’d uttered their vows.

A grin appeared on her features to mirror his own as her husband quickly made his way to her side. She pressed her forehead to his in greeting, enjoying the natural way they came together at the end of a day. He gave her an innocent kiss where his head had been, ”My husband.” She purred back, grinning like crazy. Poem was sure that she would never tire of being next to him. And now… Poem reached up to return his kiss, but she aimed for his sweet lips instead.

”You should sit,” Poem purred as she shifted slightly to allow him close beside her. ”I went to talk to Theory about my belly being upset today.” She started, waiting until he was close before she revealed the cause of her ailment.

His woman. His Poem. He would never get enough of her. They shared a home. They shared a heart. The love that he held for her knew no bounds. Each day brought more and more love. He didn't think it was possible, but every day waking beside her brought more love.

As Poem kissed his lips, Sparhawk returned the kiss happily. When she asked him to sit, he gave the woman a side-eye, but slowly seated himself. He pressed his side into hers, lifting one thick leg to pull her in close. She obviously had something to talk about, so all of his attention belonged to her.

Words began to flow and Sparhawks brow furrowed harder. Went to see Theory about her stomach pain. She had wanted him to sit. Was something wrong? "Something is wrong?" Lifting one wide paw, he placed it gently upon her stomach, willing whatever was wrong to be better. Sparhawk waited eagerly for Poem to continue. Inside, he was fretting like an old woman.

Even now Poem’s heart swelled every time he entered her presence, he made her grin and always gave her warm fuzzy feelings inside. She loved being the object of his affection, and returning that role in kind. He was her joy, her heart, her partner for all of their days. She sighed into his embrace as he lowered himself beside her and accepted her loving kisses. Poem already couldn’t keep the grin from her face as her surprise nearly burst from her lips, especially as she watched his brow furrow.

She almost felt bad as he questioned her, but brought his dark paw to comfort what she had thought to be a persistent upset tummy. Poem chuckled softly and bumped her head under his chin and pressed herself to him as he held her stomach. ”No, it couldn’t be more right.” The mom to be nearly melted away at how sweet this moment was. ”Sparhawk, she could hardly even speak through the smile that played on her dark features. ”There’s babies in there. You’re going to be a dad.” She held onto him tighter. Poem thought she loved him this morning, but that was nothing to how much she adored him in this moment.

He was utterly confused. Everything was right and yet she still had a stomach ache? How did that make any sense? Sparhawk wasn't stupid, but he also wasn't the brightest star in the sky. Sometimes it took him a moment. Thankfully, he didn't have to think about it too much because Poem enlightened him on the situation.

Shock. That's what struck first as she spoke the words that would forever change both of their lives. Babies? Dad? He was going to be a dad? The redwood mans garnet gaze went wide and blank for a moment as his mind fought to catch up with Poem's words. His jaw had gone slack and hung open just a bit. He was going to be a father. He and Poem, his precious, precious Poem... they were making babies. They were going to be parents!

Finally, Sparhawk turned his gaze to meet his wife's two-toned gaze. Tears swam in his own eyes as he finally willed himself to speak. "Moye serdtse... Little Po-em's running around here..." What a big softie... Sparhawk moved to wrap both thick arms around his pregnant wife and he pulled her into his embrace. Then, he cried tears of joy. They were going to be parents! He had gone from the lowest of the low, the most deplorable kind of wolf... to this. A loving wife who would bring forth his children. Sparhawk was the luckiest man alive.

Poem watched him as she spoke, her words creating confusion in his features, as she spoke his jaw began to fall as the connections were made between what she said and his brain. She wasn’t sure what to expect, she herself had been beyond surprise, it was so fast! After they said their vows lickety split Poem had taken and now new little lives were growing inside. Everything was exciting, but she couldn’t ignore the nerves that lingered at the back of her mind. Theory assured her that she would want for nothing but pregnancy was still scary.

Still, Sparhawk’s excitement was quick to show as his garnet gaze turned back up to her blue and lavender eyes. Both of them had tears ready to spill over, but the joy that grew between them was palpable. Poem had never been so happy in her life as the moment she revealed the future to her husband. As reality settled Sparhawk suddenly wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her in tight to his chest. The both of them cried but Poem couldn’t hide the grin that played on her features nor the way her heart swelled with adoration and love. They were going to be parents. ”Yes, and mini Sparhawks,” She giggled as she pressed her head beneath his chin and into his neck. ”I love you, she whispered to him softly through her sweet sobs. ”I’m so excited.” But her nerves made her way into her voice as well.
