It was truly rare for Relm to be up north now-a-days. Her and Kefka traveled often really only because Kefka, or both of them rather, didn't like the cold weather and it only worsened as they came back up north. Kefka only stuck around for when Lurid would need him or pursue her pack. Otherwise he would have chosen to move down to Auster by now. Relm herself loved the southern continent even without the slightly warmer atmosphere. The lands there just seemed a lot more mystical and fun to explore. She had to admit the lack of wolves there to meet were a little disheartening, but when her and Kefka came back from their trip, a pack had moved in just across the land bridge. So if they ever did move there, Relm would have plenty of opportunity to meet new strangers.

She had come out of her and Kefka's den site to come in search of Kichi. The morning was still young and luckily the blizzards that plagued the north had subsided today. The sun was still hidden by grey clouds but somehow today was brighter than it had been. She wandered the woods going north in hopes she would run into Kichi before he went off on whatever daily adventures he could find. If she had a friend at all she would consider it Kichi mostly because they were neighbors if anything. But as she moved around the woods, her nose down to catch Kichi's scent if he wandered off from his homeland, she would be intersected by a hissing viper that slithered from the underneath of a rooted tree, raising it's neck in defense. How the snake was even alive at this point was questioning, but it seemed Relm had pissed it off in her path of traveling. She took a step back in surprise only for the snake to lash out at her aggressively. Maybe she stepped too close to it's nesting place? She would never know but she had to be careful when pursuing the creature. She wasn't sure if it was poisonous or how bad the bite would hurt from it.

Kichi had been doing something one normally wouldn’t see, roughhousing with Torch.  Sure, it might seem right when he was the one chasing Torch but when the small fanged deer turned around to attack him so that they’d meet in a clash it was another matter. Kichi would get kicked, Torch would get tripped, and on and on the two went.  It was getting so Kichi had to be more careful not to play rougher than his deer could manage.  His little fawn had seemed a perfect size when they first met but Kichi had been shooting up in height far faster than Torch.

Torch fled from Kichi as the roughhousing turned into a game of chase.  Kichi was getting ready to lash out with his paw to trip up the deer when they came in sight of Realm and the snake.  Deer and wolf both stopped as they looked at the scene.  Kichi started slowly making his way over, coming up from behind towards the viper but pausing a few strides back.  “Hi Relm,” Kichi offered casually, watching as the snake twitched its head as if it thought to look at him but then chose to keep watching Relm.   Kichi looked back to Torch who started walking over by silent order.  Once more glancing back at Relm, “pretty sure this thing is one of the bad ones.”  Kichi wasn’t completely positive but he’d bet a fresh rabbit meal on it.

As Torch got closer Kichi tightened his posture and watched the snake’s back.  “Get ready, Torch is about to distract it.”  With that said the little deer lunged in to kick the ground near the viper so that it struck towards Torch who was already leaping away.  Kichi made a half lunge in aiming to bite at the snake but he only snapped at the air.  He hadn’t fought a snake before and he was hesitant while the snake was fast.  Hopefully, Relm was better.

While Kichi approached and his voice was heard, Relm kept her nose pointed to the viper while her eyes took a quick glance at Kichi. His confidence was noble, or brave. But it wasn't like Relm was scared out of her skin and begging for a knight in shining armor to come by and rescue her. The company of Kichi was welcome, and his help wouldn't be denied as she was already wondering how she could outrun the quick slithery creature before the pair arrived.

She looked towards Kichi's deer as he called out, and just as the tiny companion stomped the evil snake lunged quickly as if to almost take hold of Kichi's beloved friend. Relm was quick herself to pursue as she saw Kichi go in for a bite, and it was a good thing she went for a move as well since his grasp missed the snake entirely. Nothing to be ashamed of, they were after all still kids.

Relm's paws leapt forward to stomp on the creature's head, though that wouldn't be enough to kill it. Her two front paws lined up on the back of the snake's head, it struggled under her weight and was beyond pissed off from the groups slaughter. "Well? Do something! Kill it! I'm not going to let it go!" It was far from a little girl's cry, more like a demand towards Kichi. There may have been different levels of fear for Relm, but she wasn't a girly girl that would run away and climb up a tree at least.

Kichi wasn’t happy with himself for missing the bite.  The snake got a glare as if it was his fault before he snatched up the middle of the snake in his jaws and clamped down.  He was going to thrash his head but realized that might make it hard for Relm to keep it beneath her paws. Fragile vertebrae snapped under his teeth and blood oozed out.  The part in front of where he’d bit was still trying to trash.  Stupid snake, didn’t it know it was as good as dead?

“Um, is it like, weaker at all?”  The snake didn’t have body parts like normal animals.  Where were the vital organs versus muscle?  “It should die eventually either way but,” but if it was venomous and she let go of the head while it was alive they could still be in trouble.

Kichi had his go at the snake, and when he asked, Relm wasn't keen to just lift her paw and let it go to find out. "I mean I guess." Her head tilted as she examined it noticing how it moved a little slower. Still, she didn't think it was okay to just let it go. It could have been tricking them. So instead, she moved her paw just at the tip of it's mouth so she could take a look at it's eyes. The eyes didn't move like hers or Kichi's, it just looked in whatever direction it was born she guessed. She then put her head down to scoop around the slithery creature's head and clamped down. She didn't really care for the taste of it's scales and blood, it was a weird and new experience. When she thought it was dead, she tossed it a couple feet away and looked to Kichi, "You go make sure it's dead."
