The hunter was defeated. Her fur clung to her ribs, bones looking like they might burst from her skin. Of course she had seen better days, she hadn't even looked like this at home. Never. Kaizer growled to herself she didn't expect for anyone to be happy that she had returned. Who would? What of Aslatiel her beloved crush. What was she doing now? Kaizer knew that they were never destined to be like that. The princess' life had been too busy. Kaizer had promised to be her guard. Well look at her now. A starving, hungry, warrior? She wasn't even that. Kaizer stood at the borders of the plains. Staring longingly across it for her old den.

She hadn't lost her strength despite her hunger and weakness. Her howl that range out was filled with pain however, but longing. The armada had been her home, she would face the alpha's and whoever else with pride with embarassment and dignity. Whatever punishment she would take it but never in her life did she think she would feel so much about a pack. What had happened again? She remembered the wheezing, the chills, that drove her away. Sickness. Should she have sought out a healer in the pack. Perhaps. She hadn't been thinking in her feverish glaze when she had left the pack that night. Kaizer thought she was going to die in those months. Now here she was.... skinny.... and longing for compassion with companionship.

Sirius Fatalis

A familiar cry rang at the border, and the Warlord frowned, listening to it. It poked at him, like a prickle in his paw. Wolves that had left the Armada without his permission, breaking law to do so. Some wolves he had allowed to slip free of him, conditionally, and never favourably. The selfish Warlord never liked to give up what was his.

He did not ignore the call, though he wasn’t speedy in answering it. He let his thoughts walk circles for a moment, would he allow the wolf to return? What would her reasoning be for her absence? In the end, he knew he needed warriors. He had already called her his once before, and his possessive nature would likely snatch her up again. But there had to be a reckoning for her absence.

When he arrived, he peered down his nose as the smaller wolf. She looked travel-worn and starving. How had she let herself come to this? “Speak, wolf.” he said softly, withholding his judgment for a moment.

Something about seeing Sirius made her feel guilty. Maybe she should have gone to one of the medics within the pack. What if they had gotten sick, what if she had spread it to the rest of the pack. Kaizer didn't know if she had made the right decision, she was sure the illness had passed now. Yet she looked so frail and small compared to the giant. Her ears drooped in defeat what sort of honor did she have left? "I'm sorry." she choked out and then took a deep breath meeting Sirius in the eye.

"I fell ill and decided to leave I wasn't sure if it was contagious. I know I should have just gone to one of the healers but I started thinking and thinking of all the horrible things that could have happened." she had not sought help, she had stayed alone, hunted alone. Nobody else helped her and Kaizer hadn't sought out her family like many would have thought. "I miss the Armada very much and I feel like I've done nothing but let you down." she sat down. "Can I come home?" Kaizer asked a simple question and she didn't expect a good answer out of it, dropping her gaze.

Sirius Fatalis

He frowned as she mentioned getting ill and making the decision to leave. “Being in the pack means being in the pack. Your loyalty is to us, and leaving isn’t a choice you can make alone.” He rebuked her softly, though she was a very sorry sight at his borders. “Our healers have also made that same promise, and they were there to help you, and make the decision of contagion themselves. If you were contagious, leaving could have been a very bad thing. You could have left a trail of sickness in your wake and not known it.” Her foolishness could have endangered others, but he had to believe that the sickness had clouded her judgment. Otherwise, what was the point of being pack?

“When you joined the Armada, I made a promise to you as well. That you are mine, mine to protect. I do not give that up easily. You can join the pack, but you must prove your dedication to the Armada. Hone your skills, and pass the tests set by myself, Asla, or Naiche. Prove yourself as more than a student, and quickly, and you may stay.”

Kaizer's eyes opened wide, the seriousness in Sirius tone was something she'd never experienced before. She'd never had to deal with these sorts of situations in her childhood. She had dreamed of being a knight, a warrior, now she felt like an utter failure. What was she thinking the night she slipped away. Hazy with a fever, feeling like her paws were dripping every step of the way. She had coughed, she had laid in a cool stream just to make herself feel better. Eventually... the illness had passed. Yet her hunting endevors during this harsh winter alone hadn't been great. Sirius however, regarded her with respect. Something about being a part of pack made her feel like she belonged and he himself.... Kaizer thought for a moment, he reminded her of her father before he had passed during the war.

She stood then, shaky on her paws but she stood her ground looking at Sirius. "Then I'll have to get better faster." she said with an amount of confidence in her unshaken voice. Her eyes softened, but she certainly hoped Sirius understood how much this meant to her. "The Armada is my home. I've never felt like I've belonged so much somewhere. My heart ached missing you, missing Asla and the rest. I wont ever make a mistake like this again. Thank you Sirius, I really do thank you." Kaizer was not a swayer with words, she didn't know how to express what she wanted. Of course she was in no condition for these tests now, but maybe... maybe she could rekindle what friendship she had left with Asla. From what it sounded, the princess had grown in the ranks and somehow this made her happy.
