Cairo was not sure what to think of this. It was unseasonable. Literally. If anything, it was as if it was getting colder. He’d seen enough Springs to know when Spring was supposed to be. And he’d caught the subtle shift in his sisters’ scents that proved it. They were all a year older, and the snow was not going away.
He frowned as he pressed through the snow, eyes following the trail of deer prints. The blizzard had petered out into a heavy snow fall, and his deer trail was quickly being hidden except for the dip in the snow’s surface. It wasn’t likely he’d be dragging a deer home in all this, not hunting on his own.
He’d ventured out of the pack lands to get a better look, and see what he could see. Baine had vanished, and with the weather crashing like this, he worried for his Spirit’s aunt. The woman had been aging, frail, and ill, and had lost her only son… Had she joined him?
He paused, ears perking as he picked up the sounds of crunching snow. The snow fall was so heavy he couldn't see more than a few yards ahead of himself, and his armored back and cloaked head were caked in the snow. He was glad for the cloak, but pretty sure he might line it with rabbit pelts.
