Spring should have shown up by now - he was sure of it. Regardless of what his instincts told him, the man grumpily gathered up the firewood he had scavenged earlier in the day. Since the weather was out of his hands, he focused on the one thing he could control - how the firewood should be stacked. Since he was without any of his tools, he was unfortunately stuck with gathering up odds and ends of dropped branches and the like. He also had a nice pile of twigs he was nurturing, since with the snow pretty much everywhere, it left him without his favorite tinder. It was a bit harder to start fires now, but not impossible. Fizniraeth was nothing if not resourceful. He placed the last branch delicately at the top of his stack, stepping back to admire his handy work. After a critical eye, he nodded with approval and moved to return to their camp.

Camp was a generous term; he and his companion had found a relatively sheltered spot among a copse of trees here and decided it would be best to huddle down for a bit due to the weather. The nights were bitter cold, and Fizniraeth would be damned if he or his companion froze. Deep within the small bunch of trees was a den of sorts, and their firepit was right there too. Off to the side was an area for storage; he had gathered a nice supply of random things one might need in the dead of spring-winter. And across from that was a spot he had dug out in the snow to serve as cold storage for any excess food. That was the most concerning thing of all, but he made sure to hunt daily. As he approached the firepit, he gave himself a shake to dislodge any spare snow before looking skyward. A deep hmmm rumbled in his throat, emerald eyes glancing hither and tither through the sparse canopy above them.

After a long moment, his eyes dropped back to the earth, now peering up at his snowy tinted companion. "Wood's put away. Find what yer looking fer?" The man's knowledge of different plants and herbs was rudimentary; he knew enough for the most common ones and what they were broadly known for, so he was more than happy to let Karine figure out what leaves did what.
