It had been a few days since Viper moved onto Chimera's island, and she didn't hate it for sure. She didn't go out of her way to see Chimera or anything. Only if they were going to go out on a hunt or something. There wasn't really a reason for her to go back inside his den in the middle of the night since he made her own den to keep her warm. She had respected his privacy on the island until that night just a few moons ago, and she continued to do so while she lived on the island now.

When Viper wasn't hunting with Chimera or doing patrols, she was training. Typically running. Lots and lots of running. She used to go around the borders of the shrine and the coast line, but now she was doing it around Chimera's island. She wasn't of any real importance to the rest of the pack. It wasn't like she was expected any where. If Hattori needed her he could find her, she didn't need to go run around and bother other folk everywhere else.

She was fully geared up in her armor which was normal for her. She felt like running with it helped wear it in and get comfortable with the way it moved on her. She was definitely adjusted by now. She ran along the sands of the shore line carefully avoiding the ocean water, taking a walking break on the same path as she came across the bridge Chimera had made for the island.

Siren wasn’t sure how she felt about the new presence on the island. Nor had she quite come to grips with the woman having stayed in Chimera’s den. He wasn’t touchy feely, he didn’t care about anyone and the two of them only had each other. That wasn’t wholly true though, Dalila lived in the den too, usually next to the princess herself. Chimera was often off doing his lofty responsibilities in the pack, all for her. That was why she wouldn’t ever say a thing against Chimera’s wishes. He lived a simple life, and there was nothing he asked of her without prompting. If he wanted this woman here, Siren would eventually get used to her presence.

The Klein girl hated change though, and this was a big one.

The ivory she wolf felt the same about privacy as Chimera, this was her island and she didn’t enjoy other wolves treading here. Especially when all they did was pace all day. Siren couldn’t remain cooped up in the den for very long and despite the cold she was lying at the edge of the forest, looking out over the beach, when Viper strode by.

Siren lifted her delicate features from the heavy scrap of polar bear fur she wore over her shoulders. So far she’d managed to avoid the woman as much as possible, but this time she hadn’t been paying enough attention. She was bound to run into her eventually.

Viper actually had a strange thing about being watched on the moderate end of Chimera not liking to be touched. But it was a relatively new feeing as she sensed the tiny fae off further in the island. Maybe it was because she was locked up and put on display in Fireside. She tried not to let it bother her too much, she was aware of the other women that lived with Chimera on the island not that she had met them.

Viper continued her fun activity or whatever it was, the running she did in her free time. She came to a walk as she neared where the small lady’s presence was on purpose. She wanted to stop and ask what her deal was. Even if she wasn’t actually watching her, she felt like there were eyes gouging into her. It seemed the woman made her way out the the beach and  Viper moved a little inward of the island to meet her. "Uh, hi?" It was a question, maybe a little rude. But she was biting her tongue in attempt not to offend her too terribly.

Siren nearly sighed as Viper slowed to s teady walk the closer she got. Siren tried to look away, to become one with the environment around her so Viper might forget about her, but to no avail. Siren shifted slightly, adjusting the fur to better cover her form in her little place on the edge of the forest where sand met leaf litter. This was a great place to watch the deer in the mornings when they wandered out of the forests to see what washed up on the shore that day. Siren was getting worried about the tiny creatures, the winter hadn’t been easy on their food source. Many had already passed that might not have if the Spring had well and truly arrived.

Viper’s voice was on the air then. The tiny Klein lowered the caramel furred ears to her skull, looking as thought she had been caught. This was her moment to prove her royal roots, to Chimera and to herself. She couldn’t let this social anxiety pull her down, it wasn’t proper for a princess.

”Hello,” she returned softly, her voice forever soft as a summer breeze. Dual toned eyes lifted to the larger she wolf. Siren was at a loss for words, having allowed herself to linger so long in seclusion she forgot how to speak. ”I’m, um, Siren.” She finally continued, even tripping over her own name. Now she was a fool. Again the fallen princess looked away.

Her eyes squinted at the tiny lady when she spoke, she could sense the bit of lack of confidence, not that she was really one to judge. "Viper." Her voice was less blunt as it prolonged just slightly, as if the woman wanted something from her or something. Was her pass time just laying on the island stalking the others that lived there? That was strange, but alright.

An awkward silence fell before the two of them, Viper almost wanted to walk away. She would have, but the events that brought her here had made her strive to be a better wolf, and if that was living on Chimera's island and trying to be friendly with the rest that resided there, that would just be another milestone to check off her list. "Did you... want somethin'?" She may have been questioning just her overall appearance on the island, or maybe she was trying to be friendly. Who knew. "Doesn't seem very fun to jus' sit here all day." Viper couldn't do it, that's for sure. Even when she was on her own she was always out hunting, scavenging, trying to stay strong. It was barely different now, she just had someone to share her time with. Even if it was this tiny, awkward lady.

Siren didn’t know why Viper stopped, she had been quite content to just sit and go unnoticed but here they were. After the other woman introduced herself there was quite the long pause of silence, one that Siren did not help to fill. She had trouble enough introducing herself. They could go their separate ways now and she would have been happy. They were living in close proximity, they knew each other's names and that was enough right?

”Um, no.” She answered softly as Viper eventually spoke again. However tempted she might have been to ask for her to go on her way now. ”Fun?” She asked, not really having much experience in that part of life. She had a very short childhood and most of her life she was trying to survive with Chimera. Here on this very island. ”I wouldn’t sit here all day.” She defended herself, ”It’s nice to watch the tide come in, and the deer come out.” Siren explained quietly, unsure why she was explaining herself to Viper at all. ”I couldn’t run all day either though.” The little princess added on.

Siren had hit a point of offending Viper, whether she intended to or not. Viper was pretty easy going for the most part, but she also had a strange temper on her. She typically liked getting arise out of others, she thought it was fun. But she was also pretty offended by the most carefree things. For one she didn't like to be called stupid or dumb, which she appeared as pretty quickly. Siren wasn't claiming her this way, but as she had mentioned that she wouldn't run around all day herself, it made Viper feel like she was almost telling her that her training was a waste of time, or something of the sort.

Her head tilted with a squint as she contemplated what to do or say in response. She didn't want to upset Chimera by saying something to offend the girl who had been her longer than herself. And she knew very well it was unwise to start a fight with not only those who resided with Chimera, but those of Ashen to begin with. The things she had learned in the last year seemed to be crucial to her way of life.

"Seems like you can use some training yourself." She stated. Viper never saw her own smaller size as weakness to fighting, hunting, or the like. She was quite the opposite of her mother herself, and if she could play back the clock she would have been a much better choice for Tyranis to take and build up his expectations on instead of her brother. Rain had suffered from it where Viper would have thrived. She would never know these things though.

"You own the deer then? Chimera told me not to hunt them." Well she wanted to, it was hard to resist the urge to. Her and Chimera had brought in so many meals, but they had to be running short here soon. Ashen was a large pack to be feeding, and she was surprised no one else ventured on to the island to hunt them. Prey were meant for killing and eating in her eyes and she wondered why Chimera felt different about the island deer.

The tiny albino girl narrowed her eyes as Viper spoke again, claiming she needed to do some training herself. Siren long gave up any kind of physical skills. She was ill coordinated and her long fur demanded the utmost attention. Siren had to be careful as she walked, ran, or swam not to get tangled in her own long white fur. Viper had no idea what Siren did in a day, and keeping up with the island, studying herbcraft, and everything else. She deserved time to enjoy the fruits of her labor, namely the snowy island paradise. Chimera protected the land and Siren saw to its care. Even now she was watching her deer with a knowing gaze. Not all of them would make it through the winter, and instead of allowing them to starve and hurt the whole herd she was choosing the weakest links. A harrowing task for the young Klein, and only because of this fact she swallowed Viper’s words and her reply.

”Yes, my herd.” They had been here long before Siren came around, but these days they didn’t have predators to fear from and they had an herbalist to look after them. ”When i was young..er, I practically lived with them.” Siren knew she shouldn’t have opened up to the other woman, especially after her training comment, but the words fell from her lips before she could stop them. It was good to know that Chimera valued them as much as she did, at least for her sake. He had no emotional attachment to them, that was why there was only him that she would ask to help her thin the herd. Once the decision was made...

She lived with the deer? Well that was strange. To Viper at least. At only a season old, she had to learn how to hunt on her own. Sure she started with smaller things and worked her way up from there, but she never imagined just... living with her food. "When I was young I had to kill the deer." It may have come across as blunt, but Viper was getting less kind by the second speaking to the fragile seeming woman. Her virtues in life seemed much different than Viper's, and she couldn't help but feel the total opposites they may have been.

She still stood over the girl, not in any kind of threatening way but she did feel more empowered by doing so. Why Chimera kept this one around was beyond her, she seemed like a nuisance if anything. "It looks like we've had differn' lives then." She stated without much emotion to her face, but she was edging to the rude side. She was thinking just as the girl now, maybe she should go on about her running. As dumb as Viper appeared, her judgment on the woman was becoming the same as others perceived herself. It was dumb to think she was just living along with the deer. Viper's own unintellectual mind was inexcusable in itself though.
