With Nirvana safely stowed away in a den in the near by woods, she took the time to start exploring out a little further from their temporary place of residence. The woods served as a place to live well enough for now, but she was still looking for something to give her a reason to stay for more than a few days at a time. She knew the child was as tired of the travel as she was by now, but they couldn't just claim something that was sub par as their own. She refused to accept anything but the very best for her daughter and for any of her future children. She didn't plan on moving again for quite a while once she finally put down roots so it had to be ideal.

She had spotted the mountains in the distance from the forest and they had caught her attention, bringing her here to the base of the rocky cliffs over head. At least in her experience mountains usually meant caves and caves were certainly more attractive to her as a place to establish her home than a glorified hole in the ground. As she began to explore the mountain throughout the afternoon she certainly wasn't disappointed with the selection of different caves that it held - though they were slightly difficult to access. Some were more difficult than others, but she did end up finding one that was closest to the base of the mountain and only had a short climb over a few fairly manageable rocks to reach it. So far so good.

As she stepped into the shadowed interior of the cave, the earthen smell of damp dirt began to fill her nose. Some of the other caves she had explored had been more rocky with stalagmites and stalactites dotting the edges of the space inside, but this one was not like that. It was much more of a tunnel bored out of the earth than a worn away cavern of rock. While not her favorite smell in the entire world, she wasn't immediately put off of it as an option so she pressed forward with a critical eye scanning the darkened space.

Only a few moments after she began to sink deeper into the cave, a rumbling growl echoed off of the walls around her and a large figure began to lumber out of the shadows ahead of her, causing her to stop and watch the creature cautiously. As she backed away toward the entrance a bit just to get the beast to come out into the faint light that was filtering in through the entrance, she saw that it was actually a wolf - though it was unlike any wolf she had ever seen. She considered herself to be quite tall and certainly taller than most, but this brute easily towered over even her and bore huge, ugly teeth that he bore at her in a vicious snarl.

A smirk quirked the corner of her mouth as she stared up at him. "Oh, pardon me, was I intruding on your space?" she questioned as she took in the beast that she could only loosely call a wolf. He was over grown in the worst way and his ragged pelt was about as muddy and dull as the cave he lived in. In fact, if she couldn't see the texture of his fur so well she would have guessed that he was just covered in mud. The roaring growl and hard snap of his teeth told her that in no uncertain terms he wanted her gone. She hadn't even decided if this cave was really worth the effort, but she hadn't had a good fight in ages and she didn't take too kindly to someone telling her what to do - not even a wolf that might as well have been some sort of experiment gone wrong.

"Well, you see, that's just too bad. This space is mine now so you'll have to leave." A full on grin pulled at her lips as her body instinctively shifted into a defensive stance and the adrenaline began to run through her veins, gearing her up for a fight as she added, "Or you can fight me for it." That was clearly the option he chose since he let loose another of those growls that felt like it could shake the earth under their paws before lunging toward her with those overly sharp teeth.

She darted out of the way, gracefully leaping to the side and out of his reach with a wild giggle, amusement dancing in her vibrant blue gaze. "Too slow, big boy!"

Lurid was gone. His empress, his queen, his betrothed... she had disappeared. Alastor had gone off in this damned second winter to try and scavenge some food for her and Kichi while they took shelter in their tree den and had gotten turned around in the blizzards, forced to survive on his own for three days. Once the storms had died down enough for him to find his scent trail back to his home, he was aghast to find it abandoned. Had Lurid been found by some other predators and forced to flee for her and Kichi's safety? That had to be the reason, right? Surely she wouldn't abandon him when he'd just found her again... after years of his life dedicated to her rise to power. It was just a matter of finding her again, right? She wouldn't leave him alone again...

Right...?

Alastor's search had led him across almost all of northern Boreas, his paws cut and calloused from the cold and hard terrain. He'd searched the forests, the ice fields, the tundras, and now he traversed the mountains, longing for any trace of his lost love's scent. All that greeted him however was more frost and emptiness. Alastor's heart felt frozen solid in his chest, only barely beating as he grunted and struggled his way along the rocky crags and crevices, peeking into caves and tunnels in vain and ducking out of the cold whenever he could. Stumbling across one cave, Alastor caught a whiff of a fresh scent; it wasn't a smell he recognized, but it did mean someone else was around here. Perhaps they might be able to give him some leads. If not, well... maybe they'd be a good means of relieving some frustrations. It had been too long since he'd had a good fight or tasted another's blood in his mouth. A thrill of excitement flashed through his mind while big black paws carried the dark brute closer to the entrance and out of the biting winds whipping around the mountainside, black eyes focused on the cave ahead of him while he followed that delectable smell.

As he ventured further in, the sounds of growls and snapping jaws greeted his ears. His head perked up; it seemed like someone else had already started the fun without him. Oh, that just wouldn't do! A wicked smile split the male's lips and he stepped past the entrance of the cave, spotting a uniquely coated female engaged with a wolf that looked more bear than wolf. That thing was humongous! Alastor took a moment to stare in wonder at the hulking dire wolf, letting out an impressed whistle from the entryway. "My my, aren't you a large fellow!" he remarked with a laugh. "But you know what they say! The bigger they are..." Alastor darted in past the purple-furred fae and throwing all his weight into a shoulder slam against the dire wolf's side, sending it toppling head over paws until it hit the cave wall. "...the harder they fall!"

Grinning like a madman, Alastor turned his obsidian gaze to the other wolf, sizing her up and considering if she could be a threat as well. As it stood, the giant wolf seemed to be the biggest problem for the two of them, and he would be remiss to pass up a chance to fight and kill such an amazing specimen of apex predators. If the girl wanted to fight after, he'd be happy to oblige. "Hel-!" Alastor began in greeting, but was cut off mid-speech when the dire wolf slammed back into him, sending the brute tumbling backwards with a laugh. Oh, what fun! Alastor came to a stop on his paws, leaping back up and charging the dire wolf, both wolves colliding with snarls and pushing their weights against one another like struggling sumo wrestlers.

Alastor snapped his jaws at the dire wolf's shoulder, taking chunks of flesh and fur out with snarling rips and ducking beneath the chomping jaws of his opponent, only diving away when the teeth of the dire wolf came a little too close to his neck than he'd like. He squared off against the dire wolf again, trails of blood dripping from his jaws as he grinned, flashing red-stained teeth while the coppery flavor sparked neurons in his brain and awoke the primal part of his psyche that demanded more. More gore. More violence. More pleasure.

It felt a bit like being a matador with a bull, except it was her whole body that was the target and not just some red flag. She was having a wonderful time riling this beast up as she darted and dipped around the cave, making the massive wolf fall just shy of catching her every time he came lumbering in her direction. Just as she was facing off again with this wolf that was nearly too big to even be called such a thing, a whistle coming from the direction of the entryway caught the attention of not only her but the dire wolf that she was currently tangoing with. Once the brute's eyes were off of her she allowed herself to glance back toward the new comer as well, casting a curious look toward the dark pelted male. She wasn't really allowed time to take in his striking appearance though because he soon charged headfirst past her and straight at the massive beast with a daring shoulder slam that sent the giant tumbling across the floor of the cave. She grinned widely and a bark of laughter left her at the stunning display of absolute careless brute force.

When her bright gaze turned to the stranger again it was with an even more interested and intrigued expression than she had held before. Suddenly he had gone from a random, handsome brute that had happened to stumble into her fight to someone who she felt might actually be worth her time. She wore a grin as well as he turned to face her, her vibrant eyes glittering with a certain kind of hunger as they met the deep, inky depths of his. Just as he went to greet her, he was cut off by the giant of a wolf she had nearly forgotten about for a brief moment who decided to return the favor of body slamming her new acquaintance onto the ground. The whole series of events struck her as one of the funniest things she had ever seen and she got caught in a fit of laughter, that huge, amused grin lingering on her lips while her tail wagged behind her. This had gone from a good time to a great time in the matter of moments.

She watched as her still unnamed source of comedy gold rolled to his feet and immediately launched himself at their collective opponent again, causing the two brutes to get locked into a full on shoving match. That was at least until the male that looked like he had been swallowed in flames began to land ripping bites on the beast's shoulder and began to send blood flying and dripping across the ground. Her grin took on a different connotation as she took in the delicious sight of him standing there, squared off with this monster with its blood dripping from his dark jaws. Well, she certainly wasn't going to just stand here and let him have all the fun.

While the unusually massive beast was momentarily occupied with the male that had taken a fairly noticeable chunk out of his shoulder, Manea darted forward herself with a quick, graceful leap, ducking under him and thrusting the top of her head into the tender flesh of his lower stomach - very close to some far more sensitive areas. As soon as the sharpened, spiked ridges of horn lodged into the wolf's stomach she heard his roar of pain fill the cave, sending a satisfied shiver down her spine. She was quick to jerk her head back as she leaped back from her opponent again, using the direction that the spikes liked to grow to her advantage as they ripped and tore at his gut, leaving a huge, open gash in her wake. It wasn't quite deep enough to eviscerate the poor bastard, but not that far off either. It left most of her face, the top of her head, and the upper part of her neck coated in his blood. She gave a quick shake and blinked the liquid from her eyes, giving a wicked grin as she watched the oh so mighty beast stumble and eventually fall to the ground as blood poured freely from the wound she had created.

She cast a fiery glance toward the black and red stranger before padding over to where the beast had fallen, not so subtly swaying her hips as she went to stand over the slowly dying dire wolf. She pressed one of her slightly oversized paws to the brute's cheek and roughly shoved his head to the ground, the tiger like claws gripping around his jaw to hold him still and coax some more of those pained cries form him. With a chuckle she looked over her shoulder at her partner in crime for the evening, asking, "Would you like to put our friend here out of his misery?"

As if she were some devil-sent angel of death, the richly purple-hued wolf wormed her way beneath the bigger dire while Alastor held its attention, their jaws snapping and locking together to try and score effective bites while preventing the other one from doing any harm. They were fairly evenly matched—until the dire recoiled back with a grimace of raw pain, howling his anguish to the world and stumbling about to try and rid himself of the wolf actively goring his torso. Alastor watched with entertained eyes while the smallest of the three lupines crawled out from underneath their foe, practically drenched in blood so much that her own scent was beginning to get masked by the coppery stench of blood. The bigger dire looked far more groggy and concerned now while he tried to regain his composure, but he was bleeding out too much, and soon collapsed to the ground, crawling his way across the floor with failing strength. The battle was all but over now, and the only regret Alastor had was that it was over so soon.

The devilish brute peeked over to his amethyst-furred partner and smiled, nearly every pearly white fang coated to some degree in delicious crimson. Stygian eyes followed the fae's movements as she approached their downed enemy, taking great interest in the way she sashayed her hips as she walked, tail all but flagged over her hips in tantalizing invitation. The only thing that took his attention away from her was when she moved the dire wolf's head to expose his vulnerable throat and offered the coup de grace to him. The smile on his face turned sinister without his expression ever needing to change, the dark fire in his obsidian eyes speaking volumes for the intentions he had in mind. For a moment there, he had been wondering if he would have to kill the fae after all this too, but it seemed like perhaps they could play nice afterwards.

"Oh, you spoil me, my dear," he replied with a dark, husky chuckle. He began his slow approach over his dying foe, noting the resigned look in the apex predator's eyes. He had given up, or he had simply lost too much blood to really process what was going on. Either way, his story ended here. Alastor dipped his muzzle down to the dire wolf's throat, close enough to drink in its earthy scent, and then bit forward until he felt soft flesh and sinew give way to razor fangs. The familiar taste of blood flooded his mouth in a hot gush and he knew he had found veins and arteries. The dire wolf kicked its legs in futile resistance, but it was far too late. Alastor groaned, a shiver of euphoria sparking the neurons in his twisted brain to flood his system with dopamine. Alastor swallowed the mouthful of blood and then drew back, not tearing out the wolf's throat and instead letting his blood pour freely from the deep teeth wounds in his neck. No, he would not kill this creature quickly. His death would be slow and delightful... perhaps a bit of a showoff to the lovely lady silently judging him. "Shhh, you're almost gone..." he whispered to the gasping and gurgling dire while it choked on its own blood, his voice sickening in its sweetness and joy. The dire didn't last long, and after only a few moments it had lost too much blood and its heart gave out, the predator collapsing limp to the ground with glassy eyes staring out into oblivion.

Alastor retracted from his kill, running his large pink tongue across his bloodstained lips and relishing the taste like it were a fine merlot. He turned his head a fraction of an inch to find the gorgeous fae beside him again, eyeing her with curiosity and intrigue. "Well, that was quite the enjoyable time," he said, then his grin widened again as he considered all the manners of fun he could have with her now. "Are you going to try and kill me now too...?" He laughed low in his throat, the sound rumbling within the larger male to show his dark humor, but he was also prepared to end her life if she showed signs of going for him.

She certainly didn’t think he’d turn down the privilege of ending this wolf’s life considering the obvious joy he had taken in their brutal fight and the grin he gave her in response didn’t disappoint. She chuckled as he insisted that she was spoiling him, her vibrant gaze following the wicked brute as he came to join her over their fallen opponent. Her paw pressed hard onto the larger than life dire wolf’s cheek and her deadly claws sank further into his flesh to keep him still as her unlikely partner went about ripping a large bite from the beast’s throat.

Any struggling the dire wolf might have done only made her grin widen, chuckling as the stranger whispered to the larger male while he continued to create a massive pool of blood around their feet. She would certainly have some cleaning up to do before she returned to Nirvana and as she cast a glance over the handsome brute’s muscled form she wondered if perhaps she might have some cleaning up of a different kind to do before it was all said and done. There wasn’t much that could arouse her more than a good, bloody fight and his striking looks certainly didn’t hurt either.

When the dire wolf finally fell limp against the cave floor she released her hold around his jaw, her gaze catching the black and red brute’s ebony eyes when he turned to face her. She smirked as he spoke, lifting her paw from the dire wolf’s jaw to lips, swiping her tongue over her bloodied claws. ”Indeed it was,” she agreed as she returned her paw to the ground and shifted to face him properly. She had been having fun before he had shown up, but his presence certainly livened things up even more.

She grinned at the suggestion that she might kill him too and she laughed lightly, amusement and desire dancing in her gaze. ”Hmmm… As fun as that would be…” She let her eyes shift away from his for a moment to give his perfectly sculpted form another once over before bringing her attention back to his unusually dark gaze once again. Taking a step to close the already fairly small gap between them, she added softly, ”I can think of some other things you’d be much more useful for…”

Alastor would have had to be blind to not take notice of the glances the regal-colored fae was stealing over him. He made no mention of it otherwise; he had been used to those looks from Lurid, and he was acutely aware of how a tall and strong male with power and prowess would be perceived by the ladies. She agreed with his statement of enjoying their slaughter, her voice mellifluous with a soft heat that alluded to lusts beyond that of blood. She stated that she didn't want to kill him—a shame, really, as Al would have happily gone for a double kill—and instead suggested she had other uses for him. "Ah, what a pity... And I was just beginning to wonder what you'd taste like too..." he remarked with a sinister chuckle. All the while, Alastor had not allowed his black eyes to drift from hers, not even when he saw her boldly looking him over like a ravenous beast scouting her next meal. This time, though, he permitted himself a glance over her slender, graceful body. Everything about her screamed of refined femininity and sexuality. She was dangerous to him, but in an entirely different way than she could ever imagine.

The distance was quickly getting shorter between them, and Alastor found every breath he took was tinged with the scent of her and the blood they had spilled. It was a heady cocktail that made his muscles quiver with a tension he hadn't relieved in months—not since Lurid had vanished. He'd held out, ever faithful, waiting for his queen to arrive. But now, seasons later, his search had been no more fruitful than when he'd began. Was it time to give up? To come to terms with that he may never see his queen again? Would that be weak-willed of him or the smartest move he ever made? After all, here was this gorgeous female practically drooling over him. Any other wolf wouldn't hesitate to seize this moment. Was he really going to throw away his shot?

"You've got me curious now, my twilight-hued darling..." he said with a growling purr in his voice and a growing smile on his face, every row of sharp teeth now on display for her while he finished removing the inches of space between them until they were almost chest-to-chest. She had ogled his body—or at least most of it—already, but he wanted her to really drink him in and see what she was playing with. Alastor studied her facial features, committing her to memory as he did with every wolf he didn't immediately intend to murder. "Just what other uses could you have for a demon like me...?"

The dire brute stared intensely into her eyes as if he could see into her mind if he looked hard enough. "Alastor," he introduced himself, then raised a massive paw to reach forward to try and take one of hers in his grasp. If she didn't resist, he would bring her paw up to meet his muzzle in a delicate kiss, a far cry and disturbing dichotomy between the ferocious and deadly animal he had been moments before. But they would both know that it was a nice gesture and little more, especially since Alastor could feel the animal inside him stirring, aroused by the mere existence of this fae. Did she realize the danger she was in? Did she know what she was provoking within him?

He had such a sinister air about him with a grin that she was sure most would find alarming. It was a different kind of interaction than what she would have with others, but that just made it all the more thrilling and enticing. While she never fully diluted her intentions, she could shape and subdue them to fit the situation whenever it might call for such a thing. With him though... She felt like she could let any and all of her wildest and darkest desires fly and she still wouldn't match the intensity he brought to the table. It was freeing in a way that she hadn't gotten to enjoy in a long time. "Well, no one ever said you wouldn't get to taste me..." she said in retort, giving him a wicked grin of her own. There were many ways that could be taken and she was more than willing to let him take it whichever way he desired. She was never one to turn down a mix of pleasure and pain.

Completely forgetting about the dire wolf that laid dead beside them, she let her entire focus get wrapped up in the dark eyes currently locked with hers as he spoke with a delicious purr to his tone. Her fur was still clumped with blood around her head and neck and they were standing in a puddle of the stuff, but something told her that it wouldn't be the last blood that would be spilled this evening. She chuckled and returned his smile when he questioned what other uses she could have for him as the already limited space between them became even smaller. He was already intoxicating as it was, but as he drew closer that fact only intensified. "Lets just say that the desire for a good fight isn't the only thing I think you could satisfy..." she replied with a similar sultry purr, grinning as her gaze dared him further, every fiber of her being humming with need and desire.

She didn't resist as he reached for her paw and brought it up to his lips, giving her a charming kiss as he introduced himself. A blood thirsty predator and a gentleman? Could this handsome brute truly be real? She smirked and turned the paw he had lifted over, one of her razor sharp claws slipping free to catch just under his chin. "Manea," she replied in turn, her claw pricking his skin as she pulled his muzzle forward to meet hers, catching his lips in a kiss that made her eyes flutter closed and set that simmering, smoldering desire into an all out blaze.

Whoever this enticing woman was, she was able to find every button and say all the right things to the devil dressed in black without any traces of fear or hesitation. Alastor had to admire the fae's bravado; it allowed him to be his unrestrained self and have fun with her. The banter was quite pleasant, and her double entendres were amusing and appealing. A low hum of pensive delight rumbled in the ebon-furred brute's throat at the prospect of getting to sample her flavors, onyx eyes gleaming with mirth. Ooooh, she was a feisty one! Good, she would need to be to keep pace with him. Just as she had, Alastor had all but forgotten the corpse beside them, though the scent of copper in the air from all the blood was still drugging his brain like a narcotic in every breath. His fur was equally sticky and matted around his muzzle from the killing blow he'd delivered, though the black fur hid any discoloration where hers showed off every bloodstain with pride. It was quite a lovely look to see her feminine features wreathed in liquid crimson.

She enticed him further by alluding to the other desires she hoped he could satisfy for her. He gazed deeply into her turquoise eyes, reveling in the way they seemed to catch fire and shine. They reminded him of sunlight streaming through dense ice. Alastor could practically see her quivering with anticipation the closer he drew to her, her eyes silently begging him to take the plunge with her. She showed no resistance when he kissed her paw, and he in turn showed none when her paw turned to catch his chin and hold him steady. A blink of surprise, the sound of her name ringing in his ears and searing into his brain, and then their mouths met. She was insistent, desperate, hungry. It started a fire underneath his skin, igniting through every nerve and neuron that made up the demented wolf. It was a primal hunger he felt too—one he had not satisfied since his queen had vanished. There was a singular moment of hesitation when Alastor's brain tried to remind him of his commitment to Lurid—and in the next moment was gone as the sensations of Manea's lips moving urgently against his burned away every care and worry. They were two wild animals fulfilling instinctive drives and desires. And it had been far too long since she had left him to fend for himself.

Alastor returned Manea's kiss with fervor, lips crushing to hers with a ravenous demand that could only come from neglect of his own needs. Growls sprung up in his chest and black eyes disappeared behind eyelids while he met her fire with his own, letting it consume him and allowing her to drown him in everything she was. Before their time together was up, Alastor would make sure to have this darling little succubus howling his name to the heavens.

Her aqua eyes blinked open after a few long moments of being shaken by the strength of her own pleasure, panting as she grinned widely down at him. Once they were both satisfied and enjoying the most wonderful after glow, she eased herself down over top of him, murring happily as she tucked her head into his neck and tipped her muzzle up to give his jaw a teasing licks while she continued to catch her breath. He was truly everything she could have asked for and even though they only just met there was something about him that just brought out every part of her self that she adored and made her feel like the powerful, possessive woman she had been raised to be. He complemented her perfectly in a way she hadn't believed was possible. "Alastor... What do I have to do to keep you as mine...?" she questioned, lifting her head so that her gaze could catch his again, her eyes shining with adoration and lust, but also a bit of seriousness. She was playful, but she wanted him to know that she meant what she said.

Alastor collapsed back onto the dead dire wolf, panting hard and staring blankly up at the cave ceiling while his body short circuited, every part of him going limp. Jet black eyes slowly began to refocus, finding gorgeous aqua in the dark and a wide grin spreading over his face when he saw the look of pleasure on his lover's face. Now that they were both spent and satisfied, Alastor happily received Manea's body down over his and into his embrace, surrounding the fae in his strong arms. She coaxed low murrs from him when she licked his jaw, which he returned to the top of her head before burying his nose in her fur and drawing in a deep breath of her scent, letting her intoxicate his brain like a narcotic. Manea was something truly special—something rare he had gotten to indulge in, and something he was not willing to give up. She matched him, engaged him, amazed him, and made him feel like himself again.

Her question caught Al's attention, blinking a couple times while she lifted her head so aqua could meet obsidian. In those gemstones set in her head he could see the lust, the desire, the want and adoration. It was lively, it was playful, but it was also deadly serious. She wanted him, and she wanted him bad. It was a kind of desire he had never experienced before. But instead of feeling conflicted as he had so many times before, he just felt assured. She would not leave him. She would not abandon him. Something just told him this was true. "Just say the word, my darling little galaxy..." he answered, running a large paw over the side of her face and caressing her head, the satisfied, floaty grin on his face replacing his usual one. "Allow me to keep you as mine, and you can have me as yours... You set the rules, Manea..." Gods, did he love the way her name tasted on his tongue. Something told him that Manea would not be a one-wolf kind of girl given the way she had all but thrown herself at him after killing the dire wolf, but he could be wrong. They could go over all the details together if she chose to go down this road with him.

She could see it in his obsidian gaze - he recognized this connection between them as strongly as she had. It was as if their souls had been drawn together without their knowing, some twist of fate forcing them to find each other at exactly the right time. His words were music to her ears. Just say the word. It felt strange to think that's all it would take, but it felt right. She would take what was hers and she would give him herself in return. A little smirk pulled at her lips at the pet name he bestowed on her, enjoying it as she leaned into his touch, one of her paws coming up to rest over his to keep his paw against her cheek as she stared at him with a pure, unapologetic adoration and possessiveness. She loved the ground work he laid for them. She could keep him as hers as long as he could keep her as his. She grinned again when he told her to set the rules, wondering to herself if he understood how much that meant for her. She understood that the way Mendacium wolves lived was not the typical way of life for most and she hoped that the soul mate she had found in Alastor would allow her to bend him to those unusual rules.

Manea released his paw so that her forelegs could wrap around his neck, tracing the back of his neck and shoulders while she continued to savor this brute that would be hers. No, was hers. "I am yours, and you are mine..." she promised, knowing that above all that was the core of what this would be. "My heart and soul will always be loyal to you, though my body might wander..." A bit of a warning perhaps, in case he was the type that favored a more monogamous lifestyle. "There is one thing that is extremely important to me - more important than anything else... If you wish to sleep with others or bring others into our relationship you're welcome to, but... no one can bare your children besides me and I will only ever be pregnant by you... No children should ever come from anything less than two wolves that match each other as perfectly as we do..." She watched his expressions curiously as she laid the initial ground rules, curious to see how he might react to them. There was more to explain, more for him to agree to, but it was almost like peeling back layers, allowing him to decide if he was comfortable with each one before she pulled back another.

There was a strange tenderness and sweetness to the way Manea rested her paw over his while he cupped her cheek in his grasp. It was that plus the way she was looking at him with the devotion and affection he imagined a lover would gaze at her soul mate with, despite the fact that they had only known each other for a matter of hours. She looked so purely happy when he told her to just say it and he would be hers, the blissful smile on her face stirring something inside him while she wound her forelegs around his neck and began tracing over the back of his neck and shoulders. He murred under her soft touches, grinning wider when she declared that they belonged to one another. He had heard those exact words before, and something deep inside his blackened heart ached when he thought back to holographic eyes and a wicked smile. But where her words had felt hollow, rehearsed, Manea's felt as though they came straight from her soul and spoken directly into his. His ears pricked up when she mentioned her heart and soul being his, then forewarned that her body would wander. He understood the implication. It didn't bother him, though he would have his own condition to tack onto that. He was recently liberated from his own restrictive relationship, and if she was going to be polyamorous, he would want the same freedom to join her.

Manea then became more serious as she said there was only one thing that was of the utmost importance to her, and Alastor made sure to handle the matter with the same seriousness. He listened with intrigue as she detailed that he could sleep with anyone or bring anyone into their relationship, but he must only bear pups with her, and likewise she would only breed with him. It was a curious request, one that he wanted to inquire more into, but it was easy enough for him to agree with. Alastor's smile slowly returned to his face and he nodded to her request. "I can agree to those terms... I wouldn't dream of giving my pups to anyone unworthy of bearing them..." he said, giving her a playful, knowing wink. Although he didn't say it explicitly, the implication was there—he saw Manea as the one worth having children with and no one else. "The only thing I ask is that when you find some ladies you'd like to entwine yourself with... Consider bringing them back to share so I can sample some exotic flavors with you..." When, not if. Manea was an attractive wolf with quite the sexual appetite. He knew she would find herself in the embraces of other faes. So long as he remained her only brute, he didn't care how many ladies she bedded, especially not if she brought any of the delicious little snacks home for him to play with along with her. He chuckled a little under his breath at the humor of their situation, discussing serious relationship matters while she essentially lay draped across him after having just fucked each other silly. It felt so quintessentially them and he loved it.

There was a small relief when he easily agreed to her first set of conditions and she appreciated that he took her requests seriously as she laid them out for him. It made her certain that he would follow through on his promise as he agreed with not giving his pups to anyone unworthy of bearing them - to which she grinned widely as he gave her a wink, loving the implication that she was someone he considered worthy. Pups played a large role in her family and their culture and litters were not had lightly. Telling someone that they were worthy of their children was a very high complement and she murred happily as she gave his chin a playful lick in response. Traveling for endless miles and far longer than she would like to admit in order to find the brute that was perfect for her had taken a toll on not only her but also her niece so to say that finally finding him was a relief was a massive understatement. She wasn't sure he quite understood the importance he played in her life just yet, but he soon would.

She gave him a curious look when he brought up a condition of his own, only for the curiosity to be pushed aside by intrigue and lust as she grinned at the request that she bring home any faes she found interest in so that he could enjoy them as well. She laughed lightly and nipped playfully at his jaw, her claws scratching lightly around the back of his neck. "Of course, my demon... I would be more than happy to share any beauties I find with you... I'll only bring home the best for you..." Not just any woman caught her attention and as such she wouldn't just bring back any fae for him to "sample". "Same goes to you... If there's anyone that catches your eye, I'd love to enjoy them with you..." She already adored the openness and sexual nature to their fledgling relationship. It was a part of her that she wasn't willing to compromise on and Alastor seemed to be just as eager to continue living out all of these sexual fantasies and weaving them into their lives together.

With the more enjoyable and more easily palatable portions of her lifestyle presented to him, she knew there were some other parts that she would need to tell him about sooner rather than later. As much as she was certain that he was hers, she still needed to know that when the time came to follow through with other aspects of their beliefs that he would still be willing to stand by her side. She refused to get to the point where she had one litter with this brute only for him to refuse her any more and doom her to a life of never having any more children so early on in her life. "There is something else that you should know before you truly decide to go down this path with me..." she mentioned as she brought one of her paws to lightly scratch affectionately around his ears. She knew that this part was the hardest to explain and even harder to understand so she only hoped that he could see past the horror to see the joy it could bring. "My family is incredibly selective of who we bring into our bloodline for a reason... Each of our pups is granted its life from our ancestors, the ancient ones... All of the strength, abilities, power, beauty, intelligence... We attribute it all to the power that their spirits grant us..."

She watched his expressions curiously as she spoke, still leaving little trails of affections around his ears, neck, shoulders, and chest as she spoke. "If we have a large litter, maybe four or five children... The ancient spirit tied to that litter is then divided between each of the pups, giving them an equal portion of this strength... That can make the whole litter weak and less powerful because of it... To ensure that we are taking advantage of all that our ancestor as to offer, we eliminate all but one child, allowing it to take on the full soul of the ancient one that blessed them... Giving them a fighting chance at this cruel world..." She paused, brushing her paw against his cheek while her aqua gaze searched his own, quietly wondering if he would be able to see their point of view. "If you need to stay away during the birth and the ceremony that follows, I'd understand... Many of the fathers I've seen in our family have done that for their own sake... But I need you to understand that this is something that I must do... I am only allowed to ever bear children from one wolf so if you allow me to have you I am then bound to you for the rest of my life..."

It was all too easy for Alastor to find himself smiling for genuine reasons with Manea instead of the maddened smile he wore all the time. She brought out something in him long thought dead, untouched in months, and perhaps some parts even longer. He wasn't sure what about what he had said had made her so damn happy all of a sudden, but he must have struck a nerve, because all of a sudden she was smiling brightly and murring and licking his chin affectionately. He chuckled and leaned closer to plant another lick on the end of her muzzle, this one much slower and more sensual than the teasing one he had before. Manea was infectious, a drug burning her way through his veins to reach every part of him and beyond. Her laughter, that musical sound, made his heart do flips in his chest and draw a laugh of his own, the husky sound devolving into murrs of physical delight when she started scratching around the back of his neck, finding more and more things about him that he liked as if she had a map to his body and had studied him for years. "Sounds delightful...! You know I'd be happy to share any finds with you as well, my celestial beauty..." That was easy enough. Neither of them would restrict one another's freedoms, and they were both free to enjoy the pleasures of the flesh as they chose—and now they would indulge in them together, and with as many "toys" as they chose to bring home to share and enjoy together.

But it seemed Manea was far from done laying out the terms and conditions of their potential relationship. Once more, Alastor snapped to attention, his smile fading just a bit while he focused his attention on his darling's beautiful features and sentimental words. It was hard to focus when her paws were doing wonderful things around his ears and neck and shoulders, but he did his best. The occasional husky murr would rumble inside his chest while she explained her beliefs to him and what those practices would mean in their lives. Alastor's initial reaction was one of atheistic indifference. She could believe in whatever higher powers she wanted—Lurid had been the same with her beliefs—but Alastor had seen the devil in flesh and knew that if any gods had once existed, they were long dead by now. No higher being would ever allow the fucked up shit that happened in the world to exist; no god would allow what happened to him to ever occur. He wasn't going to disparage her from her beliefs though; if she was trying to convert him, that would be an uphill battle for her. But when she mentioned the culling of pups from a litter, Alastor's face made a strained twinge. Despite her soft paw stroking his cheek, darkness flooded his already colorless eyes as vivid horrors flashed back to his mind. Pups were innocent; crimes and abuse and violence against them were the one thing he had never abided. But maybe it would have been better for him if he had been culled by his parents long ago...

"I have questions..." he interjected, blinking back into reality to fix her gaze with his own. He hadn't outright refused, but some things needed to be clarified before he could open his mind to her way of life. "When do you kill the pups...? Immediately after birth...? Within days or weeks...?" This was more important to Alastor than Manea would know. The timing mattered. Pups were innocent, but he could reason killing of a pup in their infancy before their lives had truly begun and their personalities had formed and bonds had been made. Killing a child, an innocent being bearing no crimes other than the misfortune of being born to shit parents, that he could not agree to. He remembered the screams and wails and cries of his siblings that all had their lives snuffed out slowly, one after the other. If he had been raised an only child, never meeting them... maybe then he wouldn't have ended up so fucked up in the head. As much as he would love all of his children, no matter how many there were, if this was important to Manea, he could try to work with it.

She certainly hadn't expected him to easily go along with their customs without any concerns. That was the reason why she wanted to be truthful and upfront with him before she led him into this life with her. She had seen it happen before with her cousins or aunts where they found the male they wished to mate with only to have them leave after the birth of their first litter because they had been too afraid to tell them the truth of what would happen. It was her deepest fear and refused to ever let that be her future. She would rather accept the heart break that Alastor wasn't going to be willing to live like this with her and continue her search than live with him and have that happen between them. She could see the darkness cloud his onyx gaze and she was quiet for a moment while she allowed him to work through his own thoughts at his own pace. She was in no hurry and was willing to give him all the time he needed.

Once his attention refocused on her as he mentioned that he had questions, she nodded and opened the floor to him to ask as many as he wished. His question was a valid one, though it did make her curious about why that in particular was important to him. She didn't question it now, instead more interested in explaining things for him. "Almost immediately after..." she explained calmly. She understood that they were discussing murder of innocent pups, but it had been a part of her life as soon as she was old enough to comprehend the stories so it no longer held any real weight to her. "Sometimes it's an easy choice... The runt of the litter, one that is born with a defect, one that is noticeably less energetic than its siblings... Sometimes its not as easy, and we have to rely on the ancestors to help us chose, but... Nearly always its the pup that is the largest and strongest of the litter that has the most dazzling fur patterns and colors and sometimes even something unique about them like my horns and claws..." Did any of this make it easier for him to accept? She didn't know, but she liked to explain the reasoning behind their choices all the same.

"Pups mean the world to my family..." she assured him, though he might think it contradictory to what she had already told him. "We do this so that one pup will get every ounce of love and attention and give them unrestricted access to any resource they might need... We may only keep one pup from each litter, but we make sure that one pup is blessed beyond measure..." She paused, brushing her paw against his cheek once again, giving him a curious look. "What are you thinking about...?" she said softly as she watched the fathomless depths of his eyes for answers to what seemed to be plaguing him far beyond what she was telling him.

Manea answered his question, and her response brought him a little bit of comfort. At least the pups wouldn't get to know the world, get to know their parents, get to become actual living fucking beings before being destroyed like unwanted property. Her explanation of the criteria her family used to cull the children didn't matter to him. He truly didn't care for the reasons why the children were chosen for ritualistic slaughter, since the end result was the same. The most dazzling pup, the biggest and strongest... that would be the one to live... Alastor looked over Manea, at her gorgeous celestial purple fur, her breathtaking eyes, her unique mutations, her size... He considered himself, with ebony black fur that looked like it had been kissed by fire, his obsidian eyes as dark as a moonless night, his sheer size and strength... They made sense together when looking at it through the lens of her family's beliefs, and it explained why Manea was so head over heels for him so quickly. It had also been why he had survived his childhood.

Manea tried to reassure him that pups were the crux of her family's beliefs, and that the survivors would receive love and resources from the family to flourish. He nodded his head slowly, but it was mostly on reflex to acknowledge he had heard what she said. The soft touch of her paw on his cheek brought him back to her, and he saw the curious look in those aquatic optics prying to see what was inside his mind. What was he thinking about? Alastor wasn't sure she would really want the answer to that question... But Manea had been so open about her life and her family, it was only fair that he shared with her too. "Where I came from, it was a very similar situation. Strength was the way of life, and the stronger you were, the further you got..." he told her, beginning his story. "My parents took that as an excuse to strengthen my siblings and I any way they could... In our case, that meant beatings, punishments, denial of food and water if we weren't good enough... My father..." Alastor hesitated, that word tasting like poison in his mouth to call the monster that had spawned him a 'father'. "He took some sort of pleasure in it, like we were toys for him to break... It would have been more merciful if he had done what your family does and just kept one pup alive after birth... He didn't... I got to grow up to know all two of my brothers and two of my sisters—until he killed them one by one..."

Alastor reclined his head back on the dead dire wolf, staring blankly up at the ceiling while he recalled every single death of his siblings as if it were happening right in front of him again. "I was the oldest of the five... The first one he killed was my youngest brother, the runt... He was four months old and couldn't take as many beatings as the rest of us, so my father dragged him to the river and held him under until he stopped fighting... Then he threw the body into the river and came back to tell us all he had only lasted one minute and twenty eight seconds and how pathetic he was... The next was my middle brother... He was being starved for having lost a fight with another pup and tried to sneak some food when father wasn't around... Father came back, caught him, and slammed him into the wall of our cave over and over until his brains were all over the rock... He refused to let any of us touch his corpse to bury him for a week until it started stinking and he finally let our mother get rid of him..." Alastor's jaw clenched and he grit his teeth together as he moved on to the next part of his story.

"My sisters would only have been so lucky to be killed by him... He raped them both repeatedly once they were big enough for him... The one he choked to death when he got too frisky with her one night... The last one, well, I think at that point he'd just decided he liked killing and got bored of having her around... I came home to find her eviscerated, her body ripped open, stinking of blood and of him... I buried her myself..." Alastor slowly brought his dark yes back down to meet Manea's once more, all traces of a smile gone from his face while he clutched her body possessively, protectively. "All my childhood I stayed awake at night listening to the crying and screams of my siblings... I never gave him the satisfaction of a yelp... But the worst part...? When I was the last wolf standing, he tried to beat me again, but I fought back that time... He was bigger, stronger, so he won, but I got a good chunk out of his shoulder... He broke my leg and congratulated me on earning my right to live... Then he never harmed me again, said he was just toughening me up, making me stronger to take on the world... Fucking asshole..."

His story told, Alastor finished by explaining his hard lines. "That is why I don't ever harm pups... My brothers and sisters didn't deserve what happened to them... We were dealt a shit hand and they lost... I almost wish my parents had done what your family does and just mercy-killed them all before they could open their eyes..." He snorted, trying to suppress the angry demons he could feel rising to the surface. He did not need to lose control now and lash out at the wolf he was falling for. "That is why the timing matters to me... If you're going to kill all but one, do it before they can feel it, before they're old enough to know betrayal, to look you in your eyes and ask you why you're hurting them... If that is your family's customs, then I can accept that so long as you accept my terms for the timing... and don't ever ask me to do it... I will stay by your side for the birth and the aftermath, because I do not abandon my wolves, but do not ask me to take their lives..." Of all the lives he'd taken and would take, Alastor did not have the stomach or heart to kill a newborn pup.

Manea hadn't known what to expect when she questioned what was swirling through his mind to make his dark gaze grow so distant, but as he began to speak and explain the twisted past he was raised in she understood. She laid across him, quiet and attentive as he revealed how his father picked off his siblings one by one in the most horrifying and gruesome ways she could possibly imagine. She clearly had no problem with killing or death, as was evidenced with the dire wolf that they had continued to use as a pillow for the duration of their mating, but the things he described went so far beyond just murder or killing or death. These were horrors and atrocities that shouldn't be brought upon anything less than the lowest scum of the earth and most certainly never should have happened to young pups. A boiling rage began to build and stir in her gut the longer he continued listing each of the horrendous ways his siblings were murdered, furious that wolves like his father existed, even more furious at his mother for allowing it. Yes, her family killed new born pups, she acknowledged that fact and understood how the large majority of the world found issue with their practices, but they cherished each of those lives and saw the beauty in their sacrifices. What he was describing was just cruel and torturous for some sort of sick gain that she didn't want to try and understand.

His eyes met hers once more and she let him continue as he held her tighter and more possessively against him. She was sickened by the tales he wove for her, her jaw tense as her teeth grit together as she fought the urge to go track down his father and castrate him for everything he had done. He finished by giving her his hard ultimatum for her rules, giving the explanation why the timing mattered so much to him. Now that she knew his dark, twisted childhood she understood completely. She would have accepted his conditions either way, but she appreciated how open he had been with her all the same. She was slightly surprised to hear him say that he would remain with her through the birth and deaths of their children and easily agreed to not ask him to take their lives. If that was the only part that he didn't wish to partake in she would easily agree to those terms. "Of course..." she replied easily, "I would never ask you to do that and I would just be happy to have you with me through it all... I never want them to suffer, that's never my intention... It's always quick... As much as it's a gift to be the one chosen to carry on the family's legacy, it is also a mercy to be the ones sent back to live among the ancients..."

Manea's paws came to rest on either side of his face, gently stroking across the soft fur there and tracing the red outline that accented each pitch black eye set into his handsome face. "You didn't deserve that... Any of it... And neither did your siblings..." she told him as her aqua gaze searched his, her brow creased with anger towards wolves she would hopefully never meet. She didn't want to bring up any more of these dark memories for him, but she had to ask... "What happened to your parents...?"

Although he knew deep down that it would take some time for him to truly come around to the idea, Alastor was at least thankful that Manea vowed any lives taken would be done mercifully and that he wouldn't have to have a paw involved and that she appreciated him being beside her through it. Perhaps it was the horror in her eyes he had seen when he described his daily childhood traumas to her that made him believe her words, but he trusted her word. It would probably still break a piece of his heart to see any of his children being executed, but at least they wouldn't be children he had a chance to bond with, to give names to and watch as they grew into their own people. He could rationalize allowing her beliefs, and perhaps with enough learning and exposure from her, he could be won over to her beliefs as well. Religion had not been something he had ever been exposed to—only the hell he had grown up in with the Devil himself. "Then I can accept your beliefs, Manea... at least enough to give myself to you wholly... I'd like to learn more about your beliefs before we get to that stage though... I want to understand all of you..." he said, a trace of a smile returning to his face while her paws cupped either side of his face and began to stroke gently around his soft, thick fur, chuckling to himself while she traced the red markings around his eyes. She really was so beautiful and so fascinating...

Her words made his heart wrench for a moment in his chest when she offered her sympathies for him and his deceased siblings. His mouth twitched in a little sad smile, the wound still raw in his heart and soul despite all the years that had passed since then. She looked so angry at what he had endured. It was touching in a twisted sense, and he appreciated the empathy she had for the wolf she had just met. Despite the short amount of time they had spent together, it felt as if their souls had known each other for far longer, like they were two halves of the same whole being. She asked about his parents, and instead of further anger or pain, a sick, malicious grin worked its way across Alastor's lips. His eyes darkened again, but this time it held a wicked malice that spoke of the actions he had taken even before his words did. "When I turned one, I led my father out on a hunt along a nearby canyon... I convinced the stupid bastard to try to follow a goat up an unstable slope, and when he was halfway up, I kicked the rocks out from the bottom..." Alastor paused while he relived the day in his mind, recalling the heat of the sun, the sound of the landslide he had caused and his father's shocked cries of terror as he was buried alive. "I found him crushed under some of the larger rocks, half dead and barely able to breathe while his lungs filled with blood... He looked up to me like he was asking for help... I just sat there and watched him slowly drown in his own blood with a smile on my face... I wanted him to die slowly, to know why this was happening to him, and to watch his one chance at help slipping away."

A dark, husky laugh rumbled in Alastor's chest while the brute remembered vividly the way he'd watched the light in his father's eyes slowly fade into emptiness. It had been one of the most euphoric feelings of his life. "I covered his corpse with more of the rocks and left him out there... To my knowledge, nobody ever found his body," he explained, his smile slipping a little while he thought of what came next. "My mother saw me return home alone that evening and knew what I'd done... She'd sat by throughout my whole life, never intervening to save me or my siblings, just quietly letting that monster abuse us and kill us... her own children... She left that night and never said another word to me... Cowardly bitch..." His mother's impassiveness had made her equally guilty and complicit in his father's abuse as far as he was concerned, and he hoped she had died a horrible, painful, slow death too. "So, here I am... All on my own, trying to find where I belong in the world..." he said in conclusion, his more cheerful demeanor returning to his face as if he had flipped a switch, meeting Manea's concerned aqua gaze with a crooked smile and a squeeze of his paws around her body. Now she knew all of his history and what had made him the way he was. Would she still want him after all was said and done? Would she look at him like a monster, as so many before her had done?

A smile found its way onto her lips as he agreed that he could give himself to her wholly. She didn't necessarily need him to completely subscribe to her beliefs if he didn't agree with them as completely as she did, though it would be a delight if he ever did. She understood that their views were vastly different from most and certainly didn't expect him to agree with them right away. Just knowing that he could at least allow her to practice the things that had been bred into her that she still found comfort in was enough. She nodded and brushed her muzzle lightly against his as he mentioned how he would like to get to know her beliefs and understand all of her before they reached that stage, a small grin pulling at her lips. "I would love nothing more..." she agreed. Nothing was off limits to him now. She had gifted him the most precious parts of herself, the parts that she would never allow another to touch, and now as she laid draped comfortably across his from with their hearts beating together, she finally felt like she was complete.

When she asked about his parents, she had fully expected to have one of two reactions. Either she was going to hear that they were still alive somewhere and she was going to immediately insist on finding them to rip them apart piece by piece or she was going to get to enjoy the tale of how he enacted his revenge. As soon as she saw that malicious grin spread across his face, revealing the vicious teeth that stood out in stark contrast against his midnight coat, she knew it would be the latter. She smirked and settled back to listen to the tale as casually as a pup listening to a bedtime story. She chuckled softly when she heard how he had convinced his father out onto rocky ridge, clearly oblivious to his son's intentions. Stupid bastard. Her claws played with the fur on his chest while he spoke, enjoying hearing of how his father suffered in his final moments and was glad that he hadn't finished him off quickly.

Her smile faded a bit as well as he spoke of how his mother had gotten off easy, in the grand scheme of things, with just slipping away in the night and escaping whatever Alastor could have done to him. A snarl twitched at her lips as she fought with her own desire to track the bitch down and teach her a lesson for letting any of those atrocities happen to her children, but in the end she decided to let it go and just hope, as she was sure he did, that something horrible had befallen her in the end. Gods help her if they ever crossed paths... Manea would show her what she deserved for being a failure of a mother.

Her attention returned to her delightful demon when he stated that left him trying to find where he belonged in the world with a more cheerful grin returning to his face and a squeeze around her body. She chuckled and let a grin pull at her lips as well before she gave his chin a playful lick. "You're not alone any more... I'll always give you a place to belong..." Manea corrected him, fixing him with a look that spoke to how possessive she felt of him, her aqua eyes shining with a hungry, undeniable love that she could try to put into words and would ultimately fail. She knew it was crazy to feel that way only having known each other for such a short time, but she had learned long ago to trust where her life led her and to not pass up the things that felt right. He was hers. She protected what was hers. The wolves she counted as hers were few, but the few she had she cherished with a fervor that couldn't be matched.

Watching all of Manea's facial expressions and reactions while he told her the story of his life as if she were an eager puppy was just so much fun! To his surprise and delight, the celestial-bodied wolf didn't seem the least bit perturbed by the macabre joy he took in recounting his murder of his father. That was refreshing, a wolf who didn't mind the darker, rougher edges of his personality! At least she knew what sort of wolf she was jumping into bed with then; Alastor was no stranger to pain and death, after all. Her twinge of a violent snarl on her lips didn't escape his attention when he mentioned how his mother had just left him alone and that he hadn't pursued her. He couldn't tell if it was directed at him for letting her live or at her for being a passive participant in the abuse, but either way it was justified. Alastor had often wondered if he'd feel more closure if he had killed her all those years ago... Oh well, it wasn't worth losing sleep over now. What was done was done, the bodies buried and the skeletons hidden. No use dwelling on it when he had so much future to live for!

He smiled back to her when she said she would love to share her life and her culture and family traditions with him. He was genuinely curious about what made up the fae that was currently draped across his body like she owned him, and in a sense, he guessed she did now. Her lick to his chin made him murr happily, deep onyx eyes following her aqua gems of eyes that held an almost erotic look of hungry love and possessive affection. Her gaze alone sent the most amazing shivers throughout his entire body, and her proclamation that he wasn't alone anymore and she would give him a place to belong stretched that small smile on his face into a full, toothy grin. She was getting very good at making him smile, as if she had been practicing for it her entire life. It was an odd sentiment to consider, but Alastor had never felt more free in his entire existence than when Manea claimed him as hers. She was his liberation from everything that had tied him to his past. This was his rebirth, like a phoenix bursting to flame and emerging from its smoldering ashes he would rise to greet the world. And he would do it beside Manea.

"I'll keep you to that..." he quipped back, muzzle reaching forward to give a teasing nip to the end of her nose, then press his lips firmly to hers for a few seconds in a quick, hard kiss. When he pulled away, the questions that had been on his mind before they'd fallen into each other's arms and legs came back to the forefront of his mind. "So what is your full name, Manea? You've mentioned your family a lot, what's your family name? Are any of them around Boreas too? Are they going to approve of your new demon lover...?"
