Today almost felt like spring. Or as much of a spring as they could manage. There was still snow on the ground but the sun shone down overhead. The birds were even singing. In lieu of the niceish weather, Sparhawk had pulled a few furs out onto a cleared patch of ground outside of the den. The kids were playing within visual range, each doing their own thing. The redwood man was curled up on the furs, watching and wondering at the beauty that he and Poem had created.

How was he so lucky? A beautiful wife. Beautiful children. An amazing pack. A stunning home. Health. Happiness... It was all his. All theirs. It seemed as though nothing could go wrong. Things were just too perfect to even think about anything negative. In his happiness, the red and charcoal brute began to hum a song from his homeland, his deep baritones rumbling his chest as he went.

Poem couldn’t remember a Spring near as cold as this one but the cold after the volcano eruption had been a close second. That time in her life had changed so much, the pack, her family, all of the events that took place helped to shape her into the woman she was today. She had her regrets and sorrows that continued to haunt her even now, but she didn’t have to dwell on them anymore. She had settled into Motherhood quite well, the five puppies she and Sparhawk brought into the world kept her busy and then some. Those five puppies made anything but smiling every day impossible. Along with her loving husband Poem didn’t have anywhere else she would rather be.

The sound of giggles filled the air as Poem stepped out into the clearing beyond the den. The cold was still very much about them but compared to other days it was nice. The slate woman didn’t hesitate to take to Sparhawk’s side as he basked in the beauty of everything. That was why she loved him, he appreciated the small delights that made life perfect, and then he added a bit of song.

The smile that played over her soft features was bright, unlike anything she had worn in seasons past. Sparhawk helped turn everything around. Abaven returned to their home, new life was brightening the pack, and she had her handsome husband beside her all along the way. Knowing the darker side of life only made this moment so much sweeter. The deep sound of Sparhawk’s tones were joined by her sweet voice. Poem wrapped her arms around his neck and sang into the thick fur at his cheek.

Poem soon joined him, wrapping her arms about his neck and humming into his cheek. Sparhawk grinned through his humming and leaned into the woman that was his. They had made this together. This was their perfect life. He ended his song on a long, low hum, then turned to nuzzle into his wife's soft, slate cheek. "My wife," he greeted her, placing a kiss upon that same cheek. "We are lucky, yeah?" The striped man directed his claret gaze back out over the snowy landscape, picking out each of his children as they played.

With one big foreleg, Sparhawk pulled Poem against him, nestling her body against his chest. Together they lay upon the furs, watching their legacy as they scampered about. The pups had already shown their different personalities and he loved each and every one. They showed such promise. With the proper guidance, they would grow up to be the best of wolves. Of that, he had no doubt.

"How are you feeling today?" He asked lovingly before nibbling behind one dark ear. Sparhawk would forever be attracted to his pretty little wife. They had just had a litter of pups, but already he wanted more. More of her and more of them. Mostly more of her. Their moments of peaceful togetherness were few and far between these days. There was always a pup or two biting, growling or asking questions. They didn't get much time to themselves anymore, though he wasn't complaining too much.
