The hadn't been in Boreas long as they worked their way from the northwest in a bid to head southward for warmer weather. They had followed along the ocean's edge before turning south through the wash. Rœkia told her that this was to avoid the mountain ranges and more difficult terrain that they'd have had to work through had they just gone straight south. She didn't question her cousin's wisdom in this but she was getting awfully sick of the cold and the snow. While Rœkia went hunting Lukina wandered through the wash exploring, pausing as she came to a pack border. Huh? There was a pack here? She sniffed at the border for a moment then started walking along it, curious how far the pack border went.

The girl was walking along the edge of the border, practically toeing the line, as she practiced learning different scents. She was already familiar with what a squirrel smelled like and she'd also learned how to tell the difference between the scent of a pack member and a wolf who was not. She was positive one of her parents happened to be close by, but she was content not causing trouble by leaving the pack lands altogether. She didn't mind being followed either as the safety net of a parent was going to be a welcome idea to her should trouble arise. She had no desire to go breaking any rules quite yet, but she couldn't deny the aching curiosity that lingered as she looked out at the marble wash. She had barely noticed the stranger as the other pup blended in well with the snowy landscape, but the hint of pink and a figure that didn't quite seem to fit in alerted her that something wasn't quite right. She picked up her pace as she bounded through the snow towards the other wolf. She took in a long sniff and, just like she'd been practicing, could tell that this wolf didn't smell like Incendium. In fact her scent was a lot different than she'd expected, having never smelled a stranger outside of their pack before. "Hey there!" See called out. "Whatcha doin' here?" She definitely didn't understand the concept of border patrols yet, but she was curious what brought another pup all the way out here. Walk, "Talk" Think

Lukina slowed in her pace as she spied a blue pup sniffing the ground. Her first instinct was to crouch down in the snow and she watched the other girl for a moment before she was noticed. She sat up, glad that the other pup seemed so friendly. "Hi! I was just exploring when I found this pack border. Is this your pack? Do you want to spar? We could play pretend like I'm an invader or something and you're a defender maybe?" She could barely remember the last time she'd had someone to play with. She'd been the only survivor in her litter and the siblings she did have were already to old to be interested in playing with her. Not that that mattered much since the coup.

The other pup greeted her with an enthusiasm Kyanite found hard to match. She smiled softly at the assault of words and her tail waved lightly behind her as she studied the white and pink pup. Once the slightly older girl was done speaking Kya nodded proudly. "Yeah this is my pack! Well, I mean me and my family live here. The pack belongs to Ignis." But that was beside the point. She was definitely more interested in the promise of playing. She played with her siblings, sure, but pretending that this girl was an invader sounded a lot more fun. Not to mention it was almost believable. There was a strange wolf at the borders. "Yeah I'd love to play!" She crouched down into a play bow. She tried to summon an angry face, but it was stifled by the silly grin that she couldn't seem to keep from her face. Wiggly her butt, she prepared herself for what was going to be a not so graceful pounce. "Beware! We don't take kindly to trespassers, outsider!" She growled with a barely contained giggle. The other girl explained that the pack belonged to someone named Ignis but that she'd love to play. Hooray! Lukina practically danced, her tail wagging excitedly as the other girl got into character. Lukina's white fur frizzed up around her making her look like a large white fluff ball. "Well, you'll have to defeat me if you don't want me to take your food!" That's what raiders did right? The blue pup bounded for her and she felt teeth nipping at her right paw just as she tried to bite the top of the other girls head. Her immediate reaction to someone biting her paw was to pull her right front leg up close to her body as she tried to balance awkwardly on her other three legs.

She'd barely begun to nip at the other girls paw when Lukina raised her leg close to her body. She felt teeth bite into her left ear which would have probably hurt a lot more if they'd actually been trying to maim each other. Changing tactics to ward off the invader, Kyanite decided to try to take advantage of the situation. She rose on her hind legs, quite unstable herself, as she tried to wrap her front legs around Lukina's neck to force the girl to fall over to Kyanite's left. She wasn't entirely sure it would work seeing as the pup was older and bigger than her, but it worked alright with her siblings! Lukina's little fangs nipped at Kyanite's ear and while she tried to get a good hold she felt the other girls arms wrap around the base of her neck. Uh oh! Her tail waved wildly as she tried to keep her balance but it was just no good for she fell over sideways, dragged down by the other girl. Kya's teeth went for her nose and Lukina tried to intercept with her claws. Her tiny, kitten claws unsheathed as she tried to swat the other girl's jaws away from her. Her fur was on end, hackles raised. Her ears remained pinned to her head and she hoped she was doing ok but considering she was on the ground now she wasn't sure that was going to go in her favor.
