Priscillia wasn’t entirely sure how long she had been travelling, or the distance that she had wandered away from her little den. The small thicket that she used to call home was seemingly safe for quite some time, practically her whole puphood. She slightly shook her head, trying her best not to think about it too much. The loss of her mother was truly a blow to her life, considering that the woman had done so much for her. But there was no use dwelling upon it now, she just had to focus on hopefully finding some food, water, and shelter.

The ground was cold and slushy, covered in melting snow. Where she was from she remembered that it was summer. Maybe it’s cold up here because I’m near the mountains? She thought to herself quietly. Her pale gaze peered upwards as she could see the various peaks before her. There was a soft crashing sound nearby too, something that she hadn’t really experienced before. Curiously she would approach, the roaring sound getting louder and louder. It wasn’t really a sound that seemed frightening or threatening however, and so she would continue to navigate through the foliage. She was not entirely sure why the sound was almost comforting, maybe because she was the one approaching it and not the other way around.

Finally the brush began to thin out and she found herself looking upon her first waterfall. It was magnificent really, the water crashing down from the peak and then calming down into the lake that was before her. There was a beautiful mist that was created from the falling water, and she would approach to get a drink. She dipped her slim muzzle down and lapped at the icy but refreshing water. She couldn’t help but sway her tail a little bit, simply happy that she had found some water all by herself. She wasn’t completely sure how safe it was over here, but perhaps she could just stay and rest for a bit. The young woman would add a mental note about where this place was located, in case she was in a pinch and needed a drink again.

Perhaps if the temperature was warmer she would’ve even put a paw in or two, or gotten a closer look to feel the mist on her face. It was still chilly outside though unfortunately, so she decided not to. Simply taking in her surroundings, maybe even hoping to scout out a place to sleep for the night.

Relm's presence was still taking some getting accustomed to, but he found he appreciated having another wolf to beat up every now and again. The spars he'd promised her turned out to be exactly what the man needed to stay on his toes. He didn't have to go searching for another creature to beat up. He could work on his own skills and she would be able to improve upon her own as well. Their relationship was mutually beneficial. He wouldn't have invited her along if it wouldn't have been.

He'd ventured farther from where he'd set up his den. Exploring the north wasn't his favorite. The snow slushed under his feet as he walked and a cold breeze still blew in from the north that penetrated his short pelt and bit right into his skin. His paws were soaked after his walking and he was surprised that he hadn't gotten frostbite from the harsh winter he'd had to endure. Setting up home base in the north hadn't been the smartest, or his favorite, decision; but, with Relm's father tracking her down and the search for Odyssia it was the only option that made sense.

Summer was slowly on its way at least. Whispers of warmer breezes came from the south and he took advantage of the days where the sun was out in full force. It was on those days that he traveled further and further from home. He wasn't sure what he was searching for, but he'd know it when he found it.

Eventually his paws brought him to thicker undergrowth. The sound of a waterfall could be heard in the distance and he knew that most likely meant that there was a lake. He didn't make it very far before a particularly brittle branch rolled and crumbled underneath him causing him to lose his balance. He cursed aloud, a variety of colorful words spewing unceremoniously from his maw, as he finally managed to get his feet back underneath him. He lifted his right forepaw to inspect the damage and wasn't surprised to see that a fair amount of blood was spewing from the largest pad. It appeared as though he'd sliced it on a jagged rock as he'd slipped.

His nose wrinkled at the annoyance as he cleared some of the blood away with his tongue. Originally he'd planned on finding the lake so that he could slake his thirst. Now he was more interested in washing his paw off and soothing the stinging sensation with the crisp water.

It took quite a few minutes of painful limping until he made it to the lake. He hadn't noticed before, to absorbed in his own situation, that there was another wolf already at the lake. He eyed her warily, assessing her for the briefest of moments with his judgmental golden gaze, before he dismissed her and padded over to the lake. If she was going to be an annoyance... well he'd deal with that later. He had a bigger problem at the moment.

He padded over to the lake, leaving bloody paw prints in his wake, before dipping his paw into the cool waters. He let out a soft sigh as it eased the throbbing he felt. An ear flicked back to the female wolf as he kept a proverbial eye on her. She hadn't seemed like much, shorter and daintier than him, but he wasn't going to be the one who was snuck up on. As slim as the chances were, he would make it known that he was not vulnerable to an attack.

By recent occurrences though, he could assume that this wouldn't be an instance where he needed to have his guard up. Most wolves were soft, squishy, and way too friendly for their own good. Unawares of the dangers that lurked and threatened to ruin their peaceful lives. If she was anything like the others, he was already anticipating the introduction phase and the million questions that normally followed. The thought made him groan inwardly, but it couldn't be helped. The rock that had so kindly sliced his foot open had seen to that.

Walk, "Talk" Think

Rhaegath is not friendly! Most (if not all) of his posts will be rated M for the ridiculously foul mouth he has. Thread with him at your own risk (cause half the time even I don't know what he's gonna do.)

The young woman could hear some rustling not too far away. Then the sound of shuffling feet got closer and closer. Her head turned and she was a bit surprised to see a large and strange-looking male not too far from her. He was visibly limping as he made his way to the water, placing what seemed like an injured paw into the chilly waters. He didn’t really seem to acknowledge her, and her ears flicked slightly.

She analyzed him for a bit longer, seeing the absence of a tail and horns growing from his skull. Not to mention the bright patterns adorned upon his dark fur. He was… Something she had never seen before, ever. She thought she was a bit out of place for her maimed tail, but he was certainly an anomaly.

He didn’t say anything to her, which she thought was a bit odd. She thought that this place seemed pretty desolate, but maybe she was wrong? She wasn’t really sure what to even say, or if she should even say anything at all. She looked away for a second, trying to think of something to start a conversation. She wasn’t going to leave just because he was here… So she may as well start talking right? It seemed awkward trying to just ignore each other.

“Um, it seems like you’re a bit hurt,” she began, “Do you need help with that?” she asked. She wasn’t really one to offer help, especially since she didn’t know the male. But maybe he didn’t really know how to ask for help. She truly wasn’t sure what was going on with the strange-looking brute, but she was very curious considering she hadn’t run into anyone else in quite some time.
